  1. Summers/Worrall against Masters/Wells should be superb. Thats what we pay the money for. Outwith the top end we need to batter them in the middle order. Erik Riss doesnt seem to like close quarter racing and Max Clegg is last years underperforming reserve nobody thought would be back. We'll have to take points here as Mark Riss is a trump card at reserve. He impressed me last season and not just cos he refused to yield to Masters in one heat. My only prediction is Clegg wont be in ht14.
  2. Thats exactly the point im trying to make that the apologists want to gloss over. The warning signs are there. Edinburgh are the form team right now and we had to take a mid table side to a last heat decider at home.
  3. Its a discussion forum and its not off limits. Because Worky are a mid table team.
  4. Winging it is exactly right, although it was only our third home meeting we are fragile and the 0131 will more than turn us over on Saturday if we ride the same. No way should Workington, Cook apart be running us close at home. I lost count of the number of last places we picked up against average riders. Perry had umpteen unsuccesful goes at passing Campton on the outside when the answer was to go hard under him. Its frustrating to watch when you see Bewley and Smith score decent points for Belle Vue from the same positions. Im astonished to read Stewart Dickson say in the after match report he couldnt quite put his hand on what happened. Eh, the bottom four cant gate other than Lunna borrowing Summers bike in ht14. I know we are still in April and the younger riders need time to settle but they also need to convert their effort into points sooner rather than later.
  5. Heat 13 apart that was pretty pathetic stuff on an ultra slick track. Thank goodness we have moved to Sat nights. The Comets gave us a gating lesson in the early heats. They were uncatchable when they gated but settled in position after bend 2 when they didnt With Campton, Roynon and Williamson among the points, it was as piss poor a performance as you will get. It is though a warning shot that we cant start this way against the stronger teams and get away with it, such as next weekend.
  6. Fooking typical that the 0131 will roll up with Scunthorpe missing their best home rider and Wallner covered by one of the leagues poorest reserves.
  7. Havelock must be off his head giving Bridger a TR off the back of one point from two rides. Time to ship out Berge, Bridger and Havelock. No interest in seeing the Bandits suffer.
  8. They now have a psychological head start knowing Bridger cant make a gate.
  9. Not like Barker and his engines to be an absolute let down. Another couple of points from him could have gained a league point for his team.
  10. Glasgow don't really have an out and out No1 but do have a top 3 with collective responsibility when it comes to bringing in the big points and settling heats 13 & 15. They will interchange positions with each other as the season progresses. Richard may be suffering from not having a Premiership team this season, riding once a week is not the best for sharpness or the bank balance. I think Aaron was looking for a team place in Denmark and Richie may only be doing our league this year, though he is guesting for Redcar at Armadale tonight. M'on the Redcar. As the season goes on our lower order should come to the fore, Jack Smith is still pretty raw and Dan hasn't shown too much so far compared to last year however we have only had 2 home meetings. Perhaps people are getting a bit edgy that the 0131 have had an unexpectedly good start to the season. However they are only one team from the other nine and those meetings tend to take care of themselves regardless. There is still a very long way to go and little is decided in April.
  11. Released because of poor scoring and by the sounds of it is running a GTR he cant get working for him. Not exactly what Berwick need surely!
  12. Makes you wonder how old is the kit he is using. However if he has the speed, it may be a clutch issue rather than engine.
  13. We have no fixture on the 6th or 20th of May. Lets re-schedule quickly for one of these dates and not let it drag on until later in the season. Or more likely when Berwick strengthen!
  14. Sacre bleu! Berge's disappearance almost came up trumps. M'on the Tigers.
  15. Last year Liam Carr was a competent but not exceptional reserve. To ask him to step up to No 2 or 4 and expect him to perform is absolute lunacy. He never mastered being a reserve in the first place. The same looks like its happening to Max Clegg and is im sure an unintended consequence of imposing a 2 point reserve on teams which pushes last years reserves to the main body where they cant cope.
  16. No one would part money for his registration, not that they really need to anyway. Its not even Easter and it sounds Berge is already unsettled FFS. Another season or two he will run out of clubs willing to take him on loan. He's got the talent and the machinery just not the mentality or maturity.
  17. Why the need to burst the tapes, could have made the reserve change before the heat if thats what was wanted.
  18. You actually can, it happens year after year and is one of the most frustrating aspects of the sport. Whilst it sounds like Graham Reeve is pretty lax, Jim McGregor lets nothing pass and sticks firmly to the rulebook whereas Willie Dishington is still catching up with the 2016 rule changes. Riders are wise as to what to get away with, with different referees.
  19. Stewart Dickson not pulling any punches in the post match interview. Opportunity lost. Berwick away on Saturday takes on extra significance especially if the manky mob can do it.
