  1. Justin Wolbert was pretty poor on a track he's ridden many times. Not a chance did he get second from Perry in ht14, it wasnt even close going over the line. Food for thought for Glasgow that after an extensive regrade at ht10 the visiting team came right back it having not won a heat or looked like they were capable of one and having spent their tactical up to that point. Ipswich then won three of the last five heats.
  2. Still waiting to hear from The Scotsman. Currently bricking it at the thought of one of the lowest averaged teams visiting El Dale.
  3. Ryan Douglas should be a reasonable replacement than r/r for Bewley. He's a rider i would haven taken a punt on, gone stale at Scunthorpe and would benefit from a change of track. On a 5.54 average he's a second string but just over a month ago he was having to ride at No1 for Scunthorpe on a low average. Be interesting to see how he goes at No2.
  4. Standard MO TS! Write down the Monarchs chances in almost every meeting whilst bigging up the Tigers allowing you to post how shocked and surprised you are when the ht15 result is known. Could set your watch by it!
  5. The Weegies like a track grippy rather than slick.
  6. How has Pickering managed to get to reserve on 4.50 average when he started the season as an assessed 5.00, a figure I believe new overseas riders could not go below in their first season?
  7. Supposing we had used track covers today I doubt the meeting would have gone ahead. When the rain comes on its not exactly light drizzle and is driven in by a very strong wind. Being undercover in the cow shed would have made little difference to getting soaked and it would have been a distinctly uncomfortable experience for the paying customer. I haven't got yet to whether the riders would also actually have wanted to do it, but I doubt it.
  8. We should be asking Peterborough to come back after the rain off two weeks ago. Failing that try and bring forward a fixture from later in the season. A rain off followed by another blank fixture is torture.
  9. According to Twitter Glasgow are acquiring track covers which should be available within the next 3-4 weeks.
  10. I hope the Tigeratti dont turn against Fernando. He's a tenacious wee trier we really took to last year. Being the team player he is, he would have done all that was asked of him.
  11. The decision was overturned on appeal by Glasgow which KK negates to mention. Guaranteed he doesnt take legal action. A full legal review will take evidence from all parties involved, not just his side. Its one thing to take legal advice, quite another to take a case to court. Good to hear Fernando is raring to go after his injuries just 7 days ago.
  12. Might as well cover all the bases and bring down the ambulance and paramedic. They could pick up the ref en route rather than have him take the supporters bus. If all else fails we've still got Vatcher as insurance.
  13. So to summarise: A major crash happened in the rerun of ht10 The sole Redcar rider was excluded by the ref with the heat less than a lap short of being able to award the race The subsequent rerun would have had 2 Glasgow riders only Had they both suffered EF's the score would still have been 24-32 Redcar had already used their TR A meeting result can be called after ht10 where it is cut short, in this case the 10pm curfew Ht10 at the third attempt was 60 seconds from completion There is provision in the rules for exceptional circumstances which has been applied in this case.
  14. A touch frustrating as well though that our No1 in 2015 who claimed mid season he couldnt adjust to the track shape turns up 18 months later and puts in a blinder. He took a point off his average from the previous year when he joined us from Somerset and took another half point off with us to finish 2015 on 7.91. We never did see the best of him that year. Noticeable he didnt come round at all today for a victory lap or after ht15.
  15. Indeed though perhaps Arma isnt his type of track. With a good run at reserve he can boost his confidence and bank balance to reinvest in better equipment.
  16. There is precedent though. When Berge walked from GLA in 2015 we applied for a 28 day facility for with-holding his services as is the norm and got 14. The standard get out of 'not in the interest of British speedway' was used.
  17. Perhaps Etheridge is better supported by the club at Berwick! He was thoroughly decent for a visiting No6 and light years ahead of the rider that turned up 12 months ago. Decent meeting overall, Morris got stuck in and the Bandits kept chipping away though were let down by Sarj with his usual gating technique and then the reruns. Bridger would definitely have made it closer.
  18. Used to be a standing joke in the 2000's when we were at Armadale when the Grand M was refereeing that if he had to put the red lights on, regardless of the cause he would be phoning John Campbell to see which Tiger he wanted excluded. Never harder on any other club.
  19. There'll be no p1ss taking at the starts then. Line up on time or your out. Amazing how the first exclusion changes rider behaviour at the start line.
