  1. Starting this Thursday will be fine.
  2. We've got Vatch on speed dial if they want to give us their number to pass on.
  3. He could sign his 2018 contract just now.
  4. Got to disagree about the weather. Went into Glasgow for the day where it chucked it down from 2.45 until 3.05 and again from 4.15 to 4.45. Not pleasant. Three miles along the M74 at Polmadie on the way home, bone dry and sunny. Unfortunately its the way our summer has turned out. I fear we may have been phoning Vatch to get a result declared.....about ht8 if it had gone ahead. The downside is Sedgmen seems to have been replaced.
  5. Im sure there used to be a 3 dates rule a few years ago. Just shows where the balance of power is in speedway. Just wait until the plays offs! Bewley and Smith are likely to be involved in all 3 leagues making a chaotic calendar.
  6. Its not unknown for riders to have a poor year in their testimonial season only to bounce back the following year.
  7. Thats four home meetings I think we now need to re-schedule which we cant fit in. Having been off for the Cardiff GP, we arent running again this weekend coming as its the Fours at PB. There seems to be very little cooperation between most clubs in re-arranging fixtures and we are yet again paying the price for having blank fixtures in the pre-July period where no one would come.
  8. Brilliant! Taken 5 years to get a return on that 10 large. Whined all through that first season in 2012 with Glasgow that it never stopped raining, so signed for Worky, the wettest track in the country. Never sorry to get rid. Quintissential whining Aussie.
  9. Tbf KK for Sedgmen is a no brainer. We'll see what he brings tomorrow, the track will be slicker to cope with the heavy rain which will suit him!
  10. In bumping out Roynon they have let the other under achievers know that they are no longer going to accept it. Proctor and Campton look to have upped their game as a result. Whilst Sarjeant unsurprisingly hasnt worked out, you cant fault them for trying. Their major flaw was signing Roynon in the first place.
  11. Like most tracks in our league.
  12. Its the baw heid mentality he has regularly displayed and overall lack of maturity that has rubbed people up the wrong way over many years, who are now taking great delight in rubbing his nose in it. Best rider in the UK is largely meaningless as only 2 GP riders remain, one of which is on a rapid downward and the standard of the league is largely diluted compared to even 5 years ago. Cook isnt cultured enough or long fused to make the grade competitively outside the UK IMO.
  13. Auty to completely outperform his season and ride like he's in a GP, like last time Glasgow visited. Not our best away track, would take a point just now.
  14. Perhaps but Berwick have gone through the pain barrier where he is now on a Wolbertesque average. Be daft to throw that away whether its next month or next year. Bridger on 6.59 would be a gift to any other club who would take him.
  15. Tbf all were genuine. Last week Dishington let all the jumpers go and its that lack of consistency thats most frustrating.
  16. Pretty pitiful meeting, thankfully Morris and Howe woke up from ht10 otherwise we were en route to 70+. Not sure what was wrong with Doolan, he's usually far better at Ashfield. With more reruns than i care to remember in the first half of the meeting, it took forever to get to ht8. I still maintain a false start should be a 1 minute warning to return to the tapes not two. Drains the life out of the paying public stood bored watching.
  17. Add in Kenneth Hansen and PB's acquired reputation for dispensing with riders, it may be harder than ever to recruit next season as riders think twice about signing.
  18. 42 points is respectable for any team on the road. Good to see RL have another practice at Sheff.
  19. Definitely not bitter! Still mentions it across multiple threads months later. Be good to have a progress update on this one from Kevin Keays, its all gone quiet on the legal action, which may mean its working its way through the system or alternatively isnt.
  20. Im sure the planning permission had been in place for 5 years and having now expired the owners have re-applied for it.
  21. Starke was quite brilliant in his early heats hugging the white line at speed coming off bend four with full leg over the bike style. A lesson there for Perry who twice couldnt pass Wilson Dean as he sat mid track on the corners and TP only does the outside. Pernickety i know but 5 last places from our reserves at home is not good.
  22. Thoroughly decent meeting to watch. PB were strong at the start with Starke superb and well partnered with OsterG. With the track slick to start, after watering and a regrade PB lost momentum but came back into it again as it dried and slickened off. Despite winning only 3 heats Peterborough kept in it by avoiding last places as Bewley and Worrall had their worst meeting of the season so far. Worrall seemed lost in the slick conditions and Bewley had machine issues to start. Holder did a good impression of Bombers gating technique and somehow never won a race but was terrific to watch. Onward to Berwick next weekend.
