  1. Thats the thing about messaging, it doesnt convey tone. I dont recall a post which asserts we should be unbeatable. There are those frustrated that we should be giving it a much better go than we are now, especially at the experienced end of the team. Glasgow fans IMO are quite objective and will criticise the team when its due. Those attributes of the regular posters on here over the years havent changed, we've known enough of the bad years, or is it decades to appreciate the good ones. We will enjoy the moment just now as just like team owners, nothing last forever.
  2. We were there in 2015 and he was not too bad though hasnt progressed beyond reasonable reserve/poor second string in his career. Simon Lambert the only experienced rider I can see who would fit or Liam Carr who may be worth a punt.
  3. If it goes ahead its Pickering for Lunna and r/r for Bewley. No word on Perry's replacement, choice isnt great though.
  4. With our trademark collapse only a matter of heats away, a point on the road is most welcome.
  5. Had the transfer window been open as normal i.e. to the end of August, we might have changed all top 3.
  6. And we wouldnt have won if it was a play off having run out of steam in mid to late summer.
  7. Im sure he can but while most of this team wont wear the race jacket next year, we cant change anything and have to work with what weve got. This home defeat was coming, the alarm bells have sounded for a good while now. Its up to the manager to bring out the best in them whatever means possible though i dont want to hear any more about set ups, engine tuners etc, that was Augusts' excuses.
  8. Your right, you cant buy a speedway title but you can capture the imagination of the paying punter that resulted in a massive crowd tonight. What were the numbers like down Derwent?
  9. Thats not to say he wont ride tomorrow. His record at Ashfield isnt really that great though he is having arguably his best season in the UK. Rider replacement would benefit Sheffield on this occasion if he were to be injured IMO.
  10. A spectacular collapse in the last 3 heats having done ok up to ht12. Saturday should be interesting.
  11. Not a lot of choice for guests on 5.91 though Campton doesnt instil confidence. Our brief might have changed to damage limitation.
  12. Nine weeks is a long time in speedway, just ask Chris Holder. Our brief will be to pick up a league point though that looks an aspiration.
  13. And initially put the wrong exclusion light on in the ht8 debacle. He must have seriously fallen asleep in the wheelhouse. Ht8 has been mentioned in the Tigers meeting report, surely officialdom will take notice. At the very least we could have left Vatch a voicemail and let him do the digging for himself.
  14. He has presided over many a shocker but last night was by far the worst. This is the same guy who has forgotten to put the two minutes on after a false start one time, who will issue rider warnings for jumping but doesnt exclude when they do it in their next heat. He should have excluded Jack Smith in his second heat when the 2 mins had expired he realised he had damaged spokes and went across to gate 4 to ask Aaron. Hopefully English George having seen it will take it further. On one of the Tigerbite interviews someone was complaining that referees dont get any follow up training once they qualify so never establish best practice and so they are wildy inconsistent. This must be the most extreme case though. Dishington is inconsistent and totally incompetent.
  15. Decent meeting to watch, had Lambert been there it would have been much tighter. Garrity wasnt up to much though his EF in ht13 spared Summers blushes who was as slow as a week in jail. Stuart Robson was superb in the middle order and Bowtell looks a decent prospect. The farce of ht8 confirms why Willie Dishington should not be in charge of a speedway meeting. Pickering fell in a first bend incident, the ref never noticed, Pickering started to clear the track as the others came back round, the riders then stopped without any red lights coming on and then the silly prick in the box woke up. Utterly shambolic. That exclusion for Pickering put us under a bit of pressure with the resulting 1-5though we steadily gained ground in the later heats. Much better from Perry tonight, he just has to do it more often
  16. Doubt the track will need watering after the last 24 hours of monsoon. Time to put some points on the board.
  17. His season on the whole has been disappointing, was almost embarrassing at Ipswich three weeks ago how being so far behind the race leader their reserves were having a nip at him. Could be a vicious circle of not enough meetings, rusty from the gate, earning less money, cant get engines tuned as often and therefore confidence goes down. Pijper's. Dont get me started on Perry's EF's. George Stancl would be red faced by it.
  18. And still beat Perry on a spluttering machine. We are talking about spending an additional 0.33 points as to where we are just now with Perry to have TP as a starting reserve. I doubt Pijper would have invested in equipment this year having had no team place.
  19. Two Brits rule hence he has been difficult to replace this season. In years gone by he wouldnt have been considered again by Edinburgh after going to the Wolves party the same night as Edinburgh had a fixture at the end of last season.
  20. Im sure we could have a word. Did well for us in 2011 after a shaky start that included a short spell at reserve.
  21. A somewhat competent reserve would be good. Kept wondering how we managed last year but it was Ayres and Garcia who are much better than we have now. Looking at the new averages Pijper is on an attractive 4.23 whilst Perry is 3.90. Know which id rather have next year. With away form as we have seen recently AS average is only heading in one direction.
  22. Not good when a key heatleader coughs up two 5-1's and runs a last in the money heat. For once we have outscored the opposition reserves, and still lost.
  23. Twelve points from reserve against Worky's two. Someone needs to have a serious word in Perry's ear. We should be twitching.
