  1. Bit of a pumping down at Sheffield. Nine points from the top two doesn't help especially when our 5 point reserve on a false 3 point average decides he's going to bang in a couple of race wins. Well done to Sarjeant from his biggest critic. Can see Harris in the middle order at the next set of averages. This team needs changes, matches like this expose us even more than normal.
  2. Dont like his performances, nothing personal.
  3. Will we see Jack Smith, just released from Sheffield replace Sarjeant?
  4. He's also pretty head strong and may be chosing not to invest in his equipment or being selective in his efforts whilst the pay issues go on. Worky would find it difficult to recruit a replacement if they dropped him, they couldnt even find a willing guest on Friday, so have to stick with him.
  5. Yeah, for the second season! There is nothing out there to replace Sarjeant on 3.37 so we are stuck unless there are a raft of team changes at other clubs.
  6. All in perspective. Campton never beat any of the Glasgow 1-5 but did a 2 pointer learning his trade and a 3 pointer on the way down. Had your TM been on the ball he would have given Campton a Bickley ride as his seventh which would have edged Worky closer to a league point.
  7. We know, read the threads for our last 3 home meetings, we are desperate for changes. Mediocre teams keep turning up and running us over, just someone seems to have disconnected the alarm bells.
  8. Decent meeting on a cold night. Worky did well as a 4 man team, Klindt was awesome, not what I expected and Campton got 11 from reserve without ever looking that great. Rider replacement for Proctor got 9 which is in the zone of what he would have scored but zero for Bewley isnt. His presence would have had us twitching. Worky rode the track well and again showed the home riders going out to the fence isnt always the fastest particularly running the inside line on turn four, like Nicholls last week. Starke was much more comfortable and Sarjeant got his only points in ht2. Perhaps more important was Michael Max was Team Manager, as he was at PB on Sunday. Have more changes been made behind the scenes?
  9. Find it hard to believe Worky couldnt even convince a reserve from one of Ippo, Sheff and Redcar who arent riding tonight to turn out. Thats perhaps another downside to their cashflow issues.
  10. Ouch. Been around a long time and still doing second halves. That seriously devalues this meeting. Keeps the Worky wage bill down though, bit less for the liabilities column this month.
  11. Glasgow will def move heaven and earth to get this on, it could be months before Worky agree to come back. Gating boots on should see us through. Hopefully.
  12. Swap you Bacon for our seasoned under performer at reserve! Disappointing result having been ahead early in the meeting, particularly from ht11 onwards. Its not like the Glasgow website to be so forthright, its usually flourishing with positivity, but it pulls no punches on the EF's and mistakes. Perhaps the frustration some fans have had this season is beginning to register with the key decision makers.
  13. Sorry, cant get multi quote to work on my phone!
  14. Absolutely, so every time a balanced team turns up at Ashfield we will struggle throughout the meeting and be taken to a last heat decider. Its Worky next week with Campton at reserve, so same again? Doesnt bode well for the rest of the season. Isnt the solution to restructure our team to become more balanced whilst we can. Redcar, PB and Berwick have all strengthened up over the last week and Newcastle's signing remains to be seen. However they are trying to improve rather than just accepting.
  15. Agree, though we signed one of the most inconsistent heat leaders in British speedway into a team that is structured to rely on their scoring.
  16. Sarjeant was the 4.80 reserve in 2015 that Lambert was last night. He is uncomfortable at Ashfield and sticks rigidly to the inside line even when the racing has moved out. I expect him to score better at home and anything away is a bonus, yet scored 4+1 for Ippo on Thursday from the tricky No2 jacket. Last night Harris was turned over by two 6 point riders in ht7. Averages arent always an indication of the outcome of individual heats.
  17. He's struggled for pace pretty much all season. Looking at the fixture list we are half way through the season with the business end still to come.
  18. Wasnt my intention to compare Sarjeant with Lambert even though it may read that way. I'll compare him to Tom Bacon as their averages are only 0.3 apart. So, on par with a no scoring rider.
  19. How long can this continue? There is no place in a struggling team and Sarjeant scoring 1 from 4, only beating the pointless Bacon in ht2 is pathetic. On the truck at the end he was sitting down cross armed when his team mates were all standing taking the plaudits. The boy looks demoralised and rides like it, its time to end the suffering for everyone. Simon Lambert showed us what a free scoring reserve can do, again. Had PB had Kennett in place they would have walked us, such is our fragility. Harris's bike problems again reared their head when leading ht4 gifting Lambert the win and was visibly slowing on the last lap of ht15 before packing up on the warm down lap. Nicholls was excellent, backed up by Lambert and the wild BWD, who appears to be an accident waiting to happen. Can only see a bit of a pumping on Sunday.
  20. We'll pass him on with best wishes. Noticed he never had any retirements or EF's last night, rode at No2 and still amassed 4 points. Quite incredible from the rider who turns up at Ashfield each week and gets outsmarted by almost any competent newcomer.
  21. Or does it? Ostergaard was good at Ashfield last year but prior to that was pretty ropey. It hard to predict just what he'd be like.
  22. I severely doubt the crowd was as low as 350 on Friday. Even in the very bad days pre 2015 we got more than that. I too had something on so wasnt able to go but its a natural reaction after being turned over twice in three home meetings, especially the appalling capitulation to the 0131 and the poor experience of the dust and excessive running time that day, that the crowd would be down. That day on its own could have undone all the good promotional work done so far in 2018. Normal service hopefully returns on Friday, attractive opposition, pleasant weather and a deeper track than the s**t that has been served up on Sundays.
  23. So, he's allegedly not being paid by Worky but you want the club to fine him from the money that they owe him?
  24. Has made a career out of being inconsistent, somehow! His average reflects what he is.
