  1. Nothing is a surprise any more, we are what we are, total pish. Harris again fails to come to the party as a heat leader. Cant believe we've listed him to ride at 5 at Scunthorpe on Sunday when he's shown all season he's not strong enough. Cookie cant rescue us quick enough though I think our season is almost beyond saving.
  2. Auty to ride like its his annual GP event! Beyond that hard to predict with variables on both teams. With Glasgow's pretty poor away record in 2018 I'd take a point right now.
  3. Love a bit of optimism but no. Perks has an 8 point championship average. He's on a par with the rest but no better until he learns to gate.
  4. He must have come on a lot this season as he is head and shoulders above Pickering on this showing.
  5. One or two of these guys could embarrass some of our team, and I dont mean the reserves. Lidsey in ht1 was just over a second outside the track record having never seen the place before. I think he may already ride with a Polish lower league team.
  6. Thats a fair point often discussed by Glasgow fans how well the riders are paid and whether the structuring of their pay actually de-motivates them. As for Worrall he was the least under performing heat leader, and bearing in mind we have been allegedly trying to replace Harris since the end of May, the wrong ridwr has bewn hung IMO.
  7. Awesome meeting to watch, some real prospects out there tonight. Credit to the young riders, no fannying about, no gamesmanship at the start, no gardening at the tapes, just riders wanting to race and getting stuck in. Germany were off the pace but Jan Kvech looks decent as do a couple of the Australians. Lidsey was superb but no match for Bewley who rode like we wanted him to last season. Nathan Greaves and Connor Mountain looked good. Hopefully the Tigers line up one of these boys with a 2019 contract!
  8. But you are now a serious prospect for the play offs. No one will touch EDI at home with a top four of Wells, Riss E, Worrall and Palovaara. Glasgow have handed you a lottery win by dispensing with their more flexible heat leader and rider most marketable to rival play off contenders on 7.57. Had it been Harris in the low 8's there would have been few takers, especially not Edinburgh. Its a spectacular own goal by Glasgow that could end our own fragile playoff hopes, particularly as the last two league meetings are Edinburgh home and away.
  9. Harris has signed for Poole in place of Sundstrom. Seems his poor season for Rye House has increased his employment prospects. Still waiting on the real CH to show up consistently at Le Stade D'Ashfield Peugeot. Anyone sees it give us a shout.
  10. Breaking the track record at Glasgow is about all he has done. Had a pretty poor season, never seems settled and is largely unreliable in the big heats. Can think himself lucky he wasn't dropped in the latest re-shuffle just as Worrall can consider himself unlucky that he got binned instead.
  11. That'll curb the furore but I cant see why Harris hasnt made way. He's been largely awful with unreliable equipment, poor gating, lacking awareness on track when he's being hunted down and has a distinct lack of fight. Supposedly we have been seeking his replacement since the end of May but his declining average and lack of available riders made that twice as hard. He has all the hallmarks of having had enough, particularly with the Rye House situation and is counting the weeks to announce his retirement. Worrall has also had a poor season but has a bit more about him. I fully understand making maximum use of the points available but think we've taken the wrong option.
  12. Nah, it was going before that. The 3 point reserve for Worky last year is a 3 point reserve for Glasgow this year.
  13. The under current of anti Glasgow sentiment from many Worky fans has been here for about two years. Just we dont see we have done anything to deserve it as there has been no particular flashpoints at meetings between the teams. This current thread is just another to add to the list.
  14. Mainly from the fans of one club in particular. Its almost like we have become a convenient scapegoat for their dire situation, financial or otherwise.
  15. He wont be back whether he signs elsewhere or not, he wont have taken being dropped very well.
  16. Changes are subject to BSPA approval. Press release also says Cook approached Glasgow as not doing enough meetings. Changes were overdue, though IMO Harris should have walked having invested little into his time at Glasgow other than regularly looking down at his unreliable engines when he doesnt gate. There is a high chance he will retire at the end of the season especially with the Rye House situation and thats not likely to be a motivator. Allegedly we werent the only Tigers chasing Grajczonek last month and it was CH that was to go, having never settled at Ashfield. So its a welcome to Nathan Greaves, no easy task to go out with Cook at No2.
  17. Never mind its Glasgow at the end of the month, the track will be back to normal and everyone will be riding like GP stars. Nothing f****** surer!
  18. For once the away team turned up with a tail longer than ours. Warmed up into a decent meeting after a slow start. The Lakeside top three were excellent with Morris awesome in 13 & 15 to take Worrall both times. Barker also took a couple of heats to get going but was absolute entertainment thereafter. Still regret how he could never do that with us 2 years ago. Wonder if he does, he's perfectly suited to Ashfield. Not getting carried away with Sarjeants 12, the Hams had three ineffective riders at the bottom end though it is more positive. Unfortunately its another couple of weeks to our next home meeting.
  19. Not having regular racing each weekend is a massive issue. Makes a mockery of starting our league the third week in March when we could have started over a month later. Last year we had A and B fixtures against each team but the problem on top of too many meetings was you could already see long before the A fixtures were completed who were the strugglers and who were top end material. This year its not enough meetings as well as a poorly planned fixture list for some clubs like Workington. Sometimes wish the clubs in our league would form a breakaway and take control of their own management rather than play second fiddle to the alleged Premiership.
  20. How many times have we said that this year? Should be a good one regardless!
