  1. Why not? I won't attend a British meeting due to the disgraceful capitulation of the BSPA to Coventry and Peterborough. My decision is further reinforced by the continued practice of ignoring rules. There are other things people can spend their money on, even in Poland.
  2. That's what a lot of them are saying on message boards.
  3. Based on them liking the noise. You might want to look back to the previous page and BongoBrian's comments, sorry, BongoBrian's incorrect ramblings.
  4. The indications are that many have already lost all respect for the riders who have timidly capitulated. As iris123 has already intimated, many fans remain opposed, even as Gollob raises the white flag of surrender. It looks to me like the FIM are determined to bring Poland down to the level of other nations.
  5. Why would a ban on riding in the UK affect Sweden?
  6. If they're deluded enough to withdraw their support the sport is in serious trouble.
  7. Ah, but is it as strong as the rumour that the Gelsenkirchen Grand Prix would be cancelled in 2008? Will the Speedway Star be saying something along the lines of: The PZM are bemused by rumours that the new silencer will be adopted for the Polish leagues: they won't. By the way, I notice that you have studiously ignored the questions about improvements to the silencer being mentioned by the FIM in a letter to riders and of an assurance given to Tomasz Gollob about improvements given by Roy Otto.
  8. Couldn't really argue with any of the referee's decisions, although I did think that a slight lock-up by Kenneth Bjerre played a part in Balinski's tumble. I saw a lot of people on the updates site questioning the Ht 6 stoppage, given that the riders were on the last lap at the time. The suggestion being that the race could've been concluded, since Gollob was obviously at fault. However, it appears that at the riders' briefing the referee stated that he would make all his decisions after first reviewing the television footage. That being the case, he was as good as his word and that's all you can really ask for.
  9. Tarnow lost, again, so the mood will not have been improved. I would guess that the situation will be reviewed after the two week period has expired. The ban did not extend to Sweden and so I would anticipate Kasprzak taking his place on Tuesday. One good piece of news for Unia Tarnow was that Sebastian Ulamek broke the track record in Ht 4 of Tarnow versus Gorzow meeting.
  10. I take it Rafal Dobrucki has taken up masochism?
  11. Yet Krzysztof Kasprzak has claimed that all his falls in the UK this season were down to the new silencer. Is it not the case that Tomasz Gollob was assured that improvements to the new silencers would be available before the start of this season by Roy Otto of the FIM? Is it not also the case that in the letter distributed to riders when they signed up to the 2011 GP season mentions specifically improvements to the new silencer? What, do they stop selling tickets when they've reached a nice round number of thousands?
  12. Maybe so, but the problem in Poland, as iris123 has alluded to, is that a large number of fans are just adamantly opposed to the new silencer and - as we kept being told all winter - the sport can ill afford to lose fans.
  13. Yet Chris Holder said on live television this evening that the old silencer is better. I don't see the PZM backing down on the old silencer anytime soon.
  14. Well, that's that. A fine win for Torun over reigning champions Leszno. All the results for today were: Ekstraliga Wroclaw 45 : 45 Rzeszow Tarnow 41 : 49 Gorzow Zielona Gora 49 : 41 Czestochowa Torun 50 : 40 Leszno Liga I Gniezno 43 : 47 Bydgoszcz Grudziadz 52 : 35 Daugavpils (Ht 9 resulted in a 3-0 heat result) Rybnik 38 : 52 Gdansk Next week's treats should include the fierce derby clash between Gorzow and Zielona Gora.
  15. Kolodziej very poor today. Probably a hangover from his crash in the GP last evening. Still, I think he deserves poor scores with that hideous bike. It's bloody horrible.
  16. All over in Zielona Gora where Falubaz have won 49-41. Grigory Laguta's maximum was ruined by a last place in Ht 15. Still, yet again, an impressive performance from the Lions. Great first lap from Holta in Ht 12.
  17. Polish fans aren't keen on the new silencer. It's not just the riders. And they're getting full-fat racing every week in the Polish leagues, not the semi-skimmed version with the new silencer.
  18. Holta looked close to tears there. Obviously a very painful injury and yet the fellow still rides like a demon. Great stuff from a very tough guy. And speaking of tough guys, Grigory Laguta is still unbeaten in Zielona Gora, where after thirteen heats the Lions are only four points down.
  19. Another great race in Ht 7. Not so much passing, but Slawomir Musielak rode fantastically well to keep Adrian Miedzinski behind him. And Jaroslaw Hampel at the back. It's a great meeting.
  20. Fantastic stuff from Rune Holta. Made all the better that it was against the Incredible Sulk Batchelor. More fabulous stuff from Ryan Sullivan there. Damian Balinski did well to hold him off.
  21. What a great track they've got at the Marion Rose Motoarena and always well prepared. Four races so far and I think there has been passing in each one. It's a first class stadium with a first class track.
  22. Did the same for me. That said, I used my brother's mobile, which he had left in my tender care. Well, I never did forget that twelve month subscription to Reader's Digest he put me down for many years ago. Over in Zielona Gora it's the Grigory Laguta show, as the Russian ace is unbeaten so far.
  23. Great action in Ht 2 as first Miedzinski and then Holder passed Pavlic in fine style. More superb action in Ht 3. By the way, another defeat for Unia Tarnow as Gorzow defeat the Swallows with relative ease (41-49). Czestochowa keeping it close in Zielona Gora.
