while acknowledging the point about us being wildcards, therefore averages not supposedly being relevant, i for one am pleased we're not in the Pairs. as i said at the start of the season, it's just the same sh1te, different banner. good luck to Newcastle and the other teams. -

i remember when i was younger, the 4s were always at Peterborough and the PLRC (or whatever title it ran under!) was at Coventry. can't remember if they had the Pairs every year, although i it was defo at Hackney in 1986 anyway, as you would notice from those venues, they were Southern based. i think when Glasgow hosted the Pairs (1990ish) it was the first time i could recall a 'shared' event being raced up North. of course, that all changed more recently when we've had the likes of Glasgow, Workington and Sheffield 'hogging' the PL events. not a bad thing for us Jocks, seeing as we'd racked up more than our fair share of miles over the years! this season seems to have gone full circle, thanks to heart attack Willie and his more intelligent laddie. swings and roundabouts i guess? or do we blame Rye House? they've done it before... ...and they'll do it again -

myself and my mate were on that plane. it really wasn't that bad you know! we were landing just as the fireworks were taking place at the stadium. from there, we got a mad taxi driver to speed us through the streets to our Hotel, checked in, dumped the bags, collected the GP tickets from Reception (cheers Stevie ) and jumped back in said taxi to the stadium - cost = under a tenner arrived at the interval just after ht8 (had heard the previous few races on radio commentary, with results interpreted by the driver!) and found our friends after ht12 as for the meeting, the racing was suave-and-a-half and the atmosphere was something completely different to say the least! the rest of the trip comprised good company, tasty drink and warm weather (all hail sunblock ). was good to see Rico, Chivsy Travel, etc, etc again, as well as meeting HenryW and The Doctor for the first time (although i didn't realise who the latter actually was 'til i got back home!) me thinks i'll more than likely go back next year -

yer baws! he's 2nd as of today, and has never been 3rd in any green sheet issue this season Promoters are allowed to choose any 2 of their team's top 3 for the Pairs this year, hence why Tomasz P1sh is the Comets' other representative ...told you it was easy -

actually, he's 2nd but don't let the facts get in the way of your fantasy world adventures also, he was top at the cut off date, hence how he qualified. ...hardly rocket science this speedway lark, is it? -

have to disagree with that. Steady's been at 1 or 5 all season, whereas Wright was able to 'hide' in the easier 3 or 4 berth for the first 12 meetings... besides, if Steady's "slightly ahead on the averages" then surely he is a deserving representative, seeing as that's the criteria set for qualification? -

unprofessional Scott 'red light' Nicholls = tube / failure / child Hans N (don't forget the N ) Andersen = world class rider commentary team = biased biggest lack of info moment = Mr Pearson telling us Lee Richardson was in as a T/S Joker thingy but blatantly omitting the fact his love child had been shunted from the very same race er, roll on saturday... -
