Poole V Swindon 30 September 2013 Second Leg
theblueboy replied to Vincent Vega's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Whoever wins on aggregate come Monday then the better team will have won regardless who could have ridden for either team. Both teams will have had 30 heats so luck, injuries, missing riders and TR's will not come in to it. Simple really. -
nurse...nurse.....Argotron's out of bed again I hope all those stood anywhere near Mr Shovlar will give him a very special Swiindon welcome(well all those that can string a sentence together anyway). Am expecting a comfortable win this evening circa 8-10 points. I am hoping young Morris is on his pocket battleship again this evening. If Morris and Howarth score well then this could be over tonight.

Have had a good bet on Zagar in a match bet with NKI @ 2.3 with 888.com. Has 2 inside draws and crucially the red helmet when they meet in heat 17. Outright had a cock and hen on Nicki on a track he has done well on in the past.

What I would like to have said was 'A truly fantastic evening of speedway with several exciting passes both inside and out. Clearly the Poole fans have been spoilt over the years and never again will I refer to Wimbourne Road as Blue Groove Road with this fantastically well prepared track'. Unfortunately, the track was such a dust bowl that the reserves this evening were Tendulkar and Dravid. Disappointing fare for £25 to be honest and next time Poole want to host an event of this magnitude please tell them where they can shove(or should that be Shovlar) it Well done to PUK who was the evening's outstanding rider and qualified in style.

It's a pity Belle Vue didn't think of that
-
Birks has had 4 meetings so a little churlish to say at this stage he is inconsistent whilst Gomolski has increased his average nicely both home (6.35) and away (5.22). Anyway, how can you tell they're inconsistent? Do you have a house overlooking the Abbey?
-
I believe the SS said he was on a 3...
-
are Swindon bullying? as you have stated the issue here is the BSPA. They continue to make poor decisions and lack consistency. Nothing changes. All that is required is a backbone (not to difficult really...we are dealing with speedway promoters not mass murderers) and for them to make firm, transparent and consistent decsions that can be evenly applied to any given scenario. It really is that simple.

Decent line up but poor crowd even allowing for the cold...very processional with limited entertainment but heat 15 was superb with no quarter given. PUK ruthless in the 1st bend in the final and left Hans nowhere to go and won as he pleased thereafter. Of the Robins PK did ok but Morris, Troy and Eddie were poor. Very disappointed with Zengi not sure what was happening there but badly off the pace. Re the car park charges - wholeheartedly agreed. Will not be parking there again. Yet more greed from Stadia UK.
-
and the title too...
-
you did that last year too....remind us again of those final standings

what's happened to the fixture v Lakeside on 25 March? I thought this was supposed to be the 1st televised match of the season?
-
what's that got to do with this? the riders are self employed. They are not and have never been employees of Peterborough, therefore, technically Frost has no call on their services. I am not sure how and why the asset system was set up but it was done in the days before European and Employment laws. That is why any rider will ride where they want. Frost, I am afraid to say, although I do empathise with how things have gone for him since he has come in to speedway, may have now put speedway in a position where the asset system could be tested in a court of law.
-
Rick Frost with his letter from the BSPA...do you think it was signed by the same bloke?
-
seems that you have to think and behave like Poole to get things done these days...
-
Yes...coz he isn't very good. that's because Darren Bent is an employee of Aston Villa. Batchelor and Andersen are self employed and hire themselves out to the highest(or best offer).
-
Speedway riders are not employees. They are self employed, which makes the current situation laughable.
-
Am led to believe there will be some Paxo available....Poole fans love a good stuffing
-
what...you want these clowns to re-write 'the rule book' and get rid of all the ambiguity? Good luck with that. With all its loopholes it is actually quite conceivable that one of the BSPA was behind the tax laws in this country too
-
I have no issues with either rider. Be delighted with Troy back and would have liked Seb at reserve. I was merely highlighting ER's comment that he thought Alden inconsistent but that Troy wasn't
-
In which bracket? The inconsistency bracket? As you highlighted there ER...for the 1st 10 weeks. 10 weeks is approx 1/3 of a season. I would expect a number 1 to be up and running more or less straight away. Sure, Batch did well last year. If he is signed again I would want a big improvement in how the season begins. You can't carry heat leaders.
-
I see Lord Haw Haw is on the scene again. There is plenty of improvement in the team still. Kennett, Batchelor, Killer and Morris can all improve half a point, which puts Swindon in the mix already. Hans is solid and can improve slightly IMO. Jury out on the reserves. Team has been built correctly and difficult decisions made but a decent defence of the title assured. Better make sure there is some Brasso on the Christmas list MR....keep that trophy gleaming.
-
He wouldn't have been my choice but you have to say the average is unlikely to go down and he will be a 2nd string so I can see the logic behind his possible inclusion.
-
and in your back garden too.... it quite possibly would have been 3 but unfortunately one of our assets was being utilised elsewhere Still, it's nice to see, that even with the huge portfolio of riders under the Poole umbrella that there is an acknowledgement that there is not enough quality in those ranks, so you keep coming back to Swindon to try and pinch their's....
