the onus is on you..you made the statement. Your welcome to Doyle, not interested in him at Swindon GP rider or not, on that average. It's lucky you have such a well prepared track that encourages plenty of action, which will suit Doyley down to the ground. Given the comments that I have read over the last year on this forum, regularly watched Bet365 and having sampled the 'gate and go' ambiance of Leicester myself I suggest your comment that 'it's getting there' is a tad out of line with most people's understanding of Leicester's track but who am I to rubbish someone's promotion.

absolutely, if I had to dodge pot holes and burst water pipes every week I would be a bloody good rider too...
-
I am not sure about Doyle. I have nothing personal against him and I think he has turned in to a good rider but I do think he is a little high in the averages for my liking. We have missed the boat in terms of his average being favourable and utilising it for our benefit and, if one of Holder/Ward/Pawlicki/Janowski (take your pick) are available I would much prefer one of those. If he is available and able to commit I would go with the same top 2 but feel that it will be too many meetings for PK. So on the basis PK won't be here Holder 8.75 Batchelor 7.58 Morris 6.31 Schlein 6.22 Musielek 6.0/Kornelieussen 5.95 (He has stagnated, however, on that average and as a 2nd string he may well be worth a season) Edited. Apologies. My brother has just verbally abused me that the team is too high and I can only apologise to the BSF masses. Please take pity on me, I am forced to work for the Government principally because no one in private industry will have me

Bjerre, Bjerre, Wells, Proctor, Thorsell, Worrall and another. In my mind I have Brian Can't narrating and all these riders sliding down the pole @ Trumpton Fire station. How do you quote a post when using an iPhone 5. A bit of a technophobe so a little assistance would be helpful. Ta.

I am not sure that is strictly true. I have owned 3 greyhounds and owned them over a 2 year period. In that time, my trainer told me stories about what goes on and that he was no angel. I could name you, from that period, 4 trainers that I was aware of that would not run their dog on its merits. You would also see the trainers in the betting ring so for you to say it's a small element I think is untrue.

Is he better than his brother Tobias.... Pity, BK was called off. Would have liked to seen TM in action. I am guessing Rosco is looking at him as an option for next season.

after l After leaving Celtic...to improve himself.

Christ, your a hard bloke to please. The bloke has bettered himself by applying himself, using the talent he was given and is now a skilled tradesman. Would you do a job for a £5 when you can do it for £20? That's all PK is doing. Nothing more, nothing less.

What date is the Somerset leg of the final scheduled for? -
Potenially there could be Doyle, Batch and PK in the GP series. If that is the case, and it would pain me to say it regarding PK, I wouldn't want any of them. Simply, their focus will be elsewhere and as Worrall found out towards the end, riding in several leagues takes it out of you. Morris and Gustaffson for me. Unfortunately, North has ridden himself out of the team on his average. I am guessing as long as he proves his fitness then Richings will be one of our reserves.

Well done Coventry. Too good for us. That's all that has to be said. -

Weather brightening here in Bristol too. Is a 'pitch inspection' scheduled anytime soon? It is either raceable or not after the rain last night so I would hope the management/Sky will make an early decision about the track state and clarify via all available media sites what is going on. I am leaving my travel arrangements until the last minute so I will not be best pleased if this is called off and there is no further rain between now and start time. -

says the lady moaning about the fairness of the play offs... Agree with most of the comments about our lack of interest in getting out in to the dirt, it was heavy but that's why you have home advantage and Coventry did what they had to do so no complaints on that score from me, just disappointed we threw so many points away. Good to see Hans not interested in passing any Swindon riders...is he looking to come back again next year? And as for Sky and the jumbo telly...what a f****** joke. I don't really appreciate a meeting taking nearly 2 and half hours to complete, particularly to try and dovetail it with the late running KL meeting. Should have cracked on with our meeting and intergrated it once the meeting started. It would appear Sky is also experiencing financial issues judged by the size of the screen they rolled out. My mum's Hitachi from the 70's was bigger than that! PS. If anyone from Coventry is coming on Monday...can I have a bag of spuds and a pound of carrots....that field won't be needed again this season -

What home track advantage would that be? Eastbourne have a home track advantage but not Swindon. 3 defeats out of 16, including Coventry, plus a close run thing against Eastbourne is not home advantage. I would be disappointed if Swindon didn't win the 1st leg to be honest. Having thought we might have Poole for most of the run in I am pleasantly surprised we have Coventry. I think the Coventry line up can be quite hit and miss and only Bomber and Garrity are to be feared on current form. Morris and North are better than Howarth and Hansen and that I think is where the leg will be decided. -
Gentlemen, gentlemen....this is a speedway thread. You both know where 'The Sport of Kings' thread is

Elite League Draft - 2014 - Success ?
theblueboy replied to markyb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You cannot measure the success of the FTR after 1 season. Personally, I was sceptical about what it would bring to British speedway. Looking at this from a Swindon perspective, Worrall has week on week developed into an excellent reserve. His confidence has risen as the season has progressed, he is now banging in big scores in all leagues and to be honest, without him, Swindon would not have made the play offs. Greaves who, considering he is only 16, has shown enough that one day, he will be a decent rider. His ability to stay on the bike is questionable and his gating at times is shocking, however, so is Bomber's and he has turned out a decent speedway rider. From a league perspective I have been impressed by Starke, Wright and Sargeant. Newman, Kerr and Garrity would be as everyone thought and I haven't seen much of Blackbird as I missed the Eagles early in the season and he failed to ride 2nd time round. I definitely think we should continue in this vein for another 3 or 4 seasons to truly measure the progress of these riders. At that point, people will see if riders are progressing as they should be or not. As others have stated, bring in Auty, Roynon and Birks and all teams have a chance to pick someone with 2-3 years experience competing at a lowish level. People bemoan the fact that we have no decent Brits competing at the highest level, well until we put them first and give them the opportunity to compete at the highest level, against similar riders, we still wont! The Poles and Swedes do it every year just we, as a league, have been too stupid to recognise this. -

A good effort from the 'Gate and Go' Robins. Plenty to like about this evening's performance although the track 'seemed' wet and whoever led in to the bend won. Nice to see the Bees fans acknowledging the performance. It's never easy to accept a poor performance or that your team has been outridden. The Robins are hitting form at just the right time and confidence must be high. I just hope the team makes it to the starting line for the semi final. That is when the real work starts. -

is heat 7 too early to declare? -
Go on...regale us with your tales. If Jackanory makes a come back be sure to put your name forward. Did Morris, Batchelor and Rosco all turn you down? No other explanation.
-
I know who you mean ...I am not sure that particular one isn't part of the endless list either! I was referring to KKS, Champion 2010, Sienna Ryan...
-
It's the usual ....

What a fantastic result from the Robins and with a little help from the league leaders, it's turned in to a great night. My only concern is that the team spirit seems to be so poor. Rosco just can't motivate this team at all. As for Morris, he just hasn't kicked on... Just wonder which one of the top 2 will be looking forward to racing the Robins.

Birks - seems a rather apt replacement and would fulfil the criteria.
