  1. surely you are the unluckiest person in the world.... As for last night, missed my first fixture of the season due to the fact it was raining in Bristol and I didn't fancy travelling with the possibility of it being called off. Darcy looked an excellent addition to the team. Quick and smooth in front. Zengi showed why it was a 'no brainer' he should be kept with another impressive haul of points but Wright was, for me, MotM. Gets stuck in and not frightened to mix it either. Some good battles wih Newman. Overall, a comfortable win but away wins are now the order of the day. Must target the Wolves away matches as must win because they are so poor. 2 wins there would go a long way to deciding 4th place in our favour.
  2. So Rosco all of a sudden is a pariah because he has to make a business decision for the club who pays his wages all season rather than the national team? Is Kyle's disappearance from the Swindon line up going to hamper his development? Clearly, there are people on here who could do with an additional brain cell. I would like to name and shame but I am not sure the box for this reply is big enough.😊 The bottom line is the decision has been made in the interests of Swindon speedway not team GB. I have not seen one post from a Swindon fan that is happy to see Kyle leave but sometimes in business you have difficult decisions to make. Ward represents the best opportunity we have of obtaining a play off spot and therefore, on this occasion, the decision made is therefore correct.
  3. It works both ways as we have found out with Miedzinski.
  4. Nothing like a good conspiracy theory. The bottom line is nobody knows whether Swindon have finally found the Fat Maud rulebook or not (Chapter 1 - Skullduggery - could be quite long tho' ). I think cheating in any sport is disgraceful no matter how you dress it up and if Swindon are guilty then we should have the rulebook (not Fat Maud's because Chapter 1 is massive) thrown at us. However, that said I didn't think to myself I was watching an average manipulating performance. Belle Vue gave Swindon a gating lesson - it's as simple as that. Only North and Zengi looked like they had a clue. Batchelor had ample time to blow an engine or do a 'Holder' by pulling wheelies at the back but I doubt he is stupid enough to do it with 3 riders immediately behind him. That's asking for trouble. As for betting SCB - people bet on horses and dogs all the time and will continue to do so. We know its bent and horses and dogs win when they are given the right circumstances. Speedway is easy to make money out of if you have half a brain. The Adams scenario you highlight was something my brother and I loved particularly when he was with someone off gate 3 or 4 who he could shepherd round. Many an oi oiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii on bend 2.
  5. As that wise old sage, David Brent, once said 'some days you are the pigeon and some days you are the statue'. Now stop bleating...you are sounding like an extremely sore loser. Move on.
  6. I know...but why do you have to populate the forum as well?
  7. come on Steve...it's only one big defeat. The fact it is against the bottom team is just a minor detail. Lindgren making Miedzinski look like the signing of the season. So, now is not the time to lose the faith. Hang in there buddy. There will be plenty more of those big defeats for you to get even angrier about before the end of the season. It was looking so good for 4th too....
  8. No point made at all. The team with no number 1, who put up their 3rd heat leader at 1 and give their 2nd heat leader permission to mess about and not take the match seriously still won with 2 heats to go. Had the Robins had a proper 1-7 I think you could have been right there it would have been embarrassing. However, the most obvious reason why Coventry actually got close to the Robins was Danny King. Normally he can't beat an egg at Swindon and a race win for him at The Abbey is right up there with 'a Seb Ulamek pass'. To be honest, I just think Dan has found Eddie's old Coventry tool box...
  9. oh yeah... . Apologies to Mr Kerr. My point, irrespective of which Lewis I mentioned, still stands. Signs last week of improvement particularly in his gating is a much needed positive. He rode some poor lines last week, which didn't help, however, he hasn't exactly been helped on track by more senior riders who have left him to fend for himself when some team riding may have been more beneficial.
  10. Morris at 1 will be interesting. Has been sensational this season and has taken another step forward in his development. Liking the way the team is riding at home and if Kerr, with his best engine back, can get some decent points then I expect a fairly comfortable evening. Hans has been exceptional when guesting so I am surprised he has struggled on occasions for the Bees. I don't expect that to happen this evening tho'. Having seen Cup of Coffee and Harris earlier in the season I am not worried that either will cause us too many problems. Both rode poorly and Harris, in particular, seems a shadow of the rider that used to tear round the Abbey. King never gets many no matter how well he is riding and now that Chas is getting used to the track I am confident that he will nullify Garrity. I think the Robins will win this comfortably. 51-39. According to SR website take up has been 'excellent' for this fixture. TBH, if it wasn't then there would be major implications for speedway in Swindon. Anyone know roughly how many tickets sold?
  11. I think you may have missed a decimal point after the first zero...
  12. Starman has kindly offered to assist Darcy with compiling his statement. Just a quick spellcheck to finish....so will provide everyone with an update next week.
  13. Didn't they do that against Wolves recently? Not sure what to make of this meeting. Robins have potential to win this meeting but I think that would only happen if both Zagar and Cook failed to turn up, which is unlikely. Howarth and Morris to inspire Robins and run Aces close. 47 - 43.
  14. Anybody in the locality able to give me an up to date forecast please?
  15. Awwww bless his little cotton socks. Did the Border Agency provide him with a new rattle too as well as the visa... I just thought assets had been swapped didn't realise as a self employed worker he had rights too. To think the English have been tagged whingeing...get over yourself Doyle and take the disappointment like a man.
  16. The word fact is in capitals because it has to be known to be true...so how much is true? Miedzinski - WAS going to ride for Swindon but Judas was offered more money. No problem with him taking better dollar but we don't want him now. Wouldn't pi$$ on him if he was on fire... Kildemand - mmmm.....DOES want to ride but EL programme doesn't fit in with his. Love him in our team and Russell/Rosco are clearly pinning their hopes on him at #1 Sayfutdinov - why would we want a rider we can't afford? Actually, with the exception of Poole, nobody can afford. Janowski - rubbish at Swindon previously. Led to believe he wouldn't ride here so swapped him for Doyle. Did well on that one didn't we! North - How many clubs? Craig Bellamy of speedway. Zengota - When has he said no. Good rider, particularly at home. Not aware of any issues with Swindon. Musielak - Too high an average and too much of a chance plus his mate Skornicki convinced him to ride on a training track. There is one fact tho'....Tai Woffinden doesn't want to ride for you
  17. Not really. LA was revered at Swindon, Masarna and Leszno. Genuine world class, superb team rider and top of his profession for nearly 20 years. Doyle isn't fit to clean his kevlars in comparison.
  18. No logic there at all. Plenty of riders to choose from. The only person affected is Ward as he cannot align himself to any club and earn a shedful of dollar. The clubs he represents here and on the continent are inconvenienced, due to his stupidity, for a short period. Up to Ward to take it on the chin and man up. Ford has an asset list bigger than this country's national debt so Poole are hardly going to struggle to fill the last 2 places.
  19. If there is a problem and Popeye feels wronged or upset...let's hear his version. The club would have to respond and the fans can then make an informed decision. People shouldn't air their dirty linen in public, however, as hagonshocker has said 'put up or shut up'...over to you Popeye.
