  1. True. He is inconsistent, however, not many riders beat Lee Adams around Blunsdon. KK did it regularly tho'. He is still a class act as he proved last night when hunting down a current GP rider, in his own back yard, off the wrong gate, gave him a start and a beating. On to last night, one and three a big advantage all night and Bees used that to good effect in later heats. Overall they showed more desire than KL. Nice to see that Batch's ability to throttle off as he enters the corners hasn't changed. If only Rob Lyon had listened to the Swindon fans....
  2. More chance the meeting going ahead than Wales winning...
  3. So, if Kerr was that important, why did Buster change race night? I don't buy this loyalty cobblers. Kerr is a self-employed worker. He does what is best for Kerr. When he arranged to ride for Ipswich there was absolutely no conflict of interest. You could argue that Chapman didn't show any loyalty to Kerr by not talking to Kerr about his plans. Or he did, and tried to call Kerr's bluff. Chapman has made the decision to change race night, as surmised by others as a way to keep PUK at the club. Kerr, as you rightly point out, could have chosen another club, however, until you know what his options were then it is not as easy as saying he could have ridden for KL and in the PL. Kerr had two income streams, which he needed for his own personal circumstances and I don't have a problem with what he did to facilitate that. Chapman did what he thought was best for him and the club and unfortunately something had to give. Lakeside were in the right place at the right time.
  4. You have to feel sorry for young Tunners. Going to score an absolute hatful and robbed of the chance. He then has to contend with Dr Shovlar, making unsubstantiated and nefarious accusations and calling in to question his honesty. As if we would do that...😇
  5. Would Keef report to Blunsdon Abbey. Customer in the name of Tungate... Well done Leicester. Kurtz and Klindt were outstanding. Perhaps someone can tell me why Robins when having the choice in 15 picked 2 and 4? Doyle fell off 4 in 13 and had to battle past Watt. 1 and 3 looked to have a massive advantage and I just can't fathom why these gates have suddenly become in vogue. Also, not sure why Scrabble got the nod over Morris. Morris nowhere near as good this season as he can be at The Abbey but I would have him every time over Scrabble.
  6. Hopefully, if Doyle wins the toss tonight he actually knows what to do. I have no idea why he keeps picking 2 & 4 and then he wonders why we are a cricket score behind early on in the meeting.
  7. It's not about being hasty Sid, it's about getting the right rider in at the right time. We did so last year and look how our season took off. You know that when push comes to shove, RT will be found wanting, particularly at Blunsdon. Generally, I am not one for change but I wasn't over the moon when RT was announced. He has been given a fair run and nothing I have seen has changed my opinion. I don't know what riders are available or who has offered those services but if Rosco doesn't make that change we could regret it.
  8. I believe that to be the case too. I have nothing against RT but I believe there are riders that will improve that line up and give us a chance at winning the title. Polar is the most obvious - and no he is not anywhere being close to being a favourite rider of mine - but if you are given the choice between a former GP rider and number one to a 3rd heat leader in PL it has to be a no brainer The league is very open and this is a decision, I believe, which needs to be made before his average falls again.
  9. Poole fully deserved the win. Kurtz the match winner and James Sergeant also rode well at 5 for Poole. Poole had more tenacity, which was summed up perfectly in heat 14. Morris aggressive and rode Buck to the fence. Tungate on a ultra slick track where passing was at a premium and had a 30 yard head start spends the next 2 laps riding ultra conservatively and looking forward over his shoulder. Needless to say Buck didn't turn the offer down. Tungate isn't good enough at this level. He excelled in the reserve berth but he was not brought in to the team to ride at reserve. By the end of this week we will be halfway through the season. I think Tungate has not shown enough to warrant being kept in for the remainder of the season. If riders have volunteered their services to Rosco and given RT's current inflated average, now is the time to make that change. Chas was poor yesterday but not his type of track and not down to effort either. Had he brought his trapping boots the result may have been different but he was up against 2 quality reserves yesterday and it showed. Losing at home, again, makes it imperative that less than 3 points at Leicester could be the difference between a play off spot and missing out.
  10. I think we could have a Eurovision type contest. There would be tactical voting and people voting on the most boring, even though they aren't, just so other people can't lift this prestigious title. We could have a list of clubs who nominate one forumite - after a bore off first - naturally. Would Poole fans vote for Starry or vote SCB just so that Coventry could win something...
  11. Former Swindon captain @ 1 Current GP leader 4 heat leaders in the top 5 No 1 EDR Only one winner here I'm afraid...
  12. Not at all. I don't have a problem with Troy but I don't expect my teams number one to ride around like a Jack and Danny if his head is not in the right place. He owes that to both the management and the supporters. During the season he was throttling off entering bends and not chasing when at the back. In my opinion, he conveniently used Darcy's injury to mask his poor performances. To then blame track conditions for his poor semi final performances was, for most Swindon supporters, enough. 13. I believe Nick Morris is closer to Ward and although he was clearly affected didn't bleat and moan like Batchelor, I expect a GP rider to have some balls and professionalism and a get on with it attitude. To be honest, Batch doesn't need a lot of encouragement to throw a strop. We still remember when he was replaced by Zagar and how he behaved when he lost his team place due to injury. He then thought he had some sort of divine right to a place despite his replacement smashing in double figure scores for fun. I like honesty, its refreshing, however, particulalrly as a captain sometimes, you have to keep it zipped. I was at Belle Vue for the 1st leg of the play off and he was rubbish. End of. He wasn't much better in the return leg. If he was as affected, as much as he said he was by Darcy's injury, then he should have been 'honest' and said so to Rosco. How is Rosco supposed to know his number one isn't up to it?
  14. I think you are probably old enough to have heard the expression 'Rome wasn't built in a day'? Seriously, what were you expecting? No speedway track I know or have known produces epic speedway every meeting. There are differing variables. This country now has a fantastic stadium to host international calibre events and because this meeting wasn't full of passes your assessment is that it's crap. Perhaps if Young Gollob had been in the Aces line up it might have produced a better scenario! A much more measured and reasonable response would be to give it two or three months, especially with its well documented problems and perhaps give a view at this stage. The race I saw suggests that given time the track has potential. It most certainly isn't 'a Leicester' and not sure why you have commented in this negative way. I look forward to visiting BV and this impressive facility in the not too distant future.
  15. Yeah, Polyfilla would be a good start. Is B & Q doing a special, anyone know....😋
  16. There was nothing wrong with the track. Of course they are entitled to an opinion - so let's hear what was wrong with it? No BV fan has actually said what was wrong with the track except ouch who said 'FTG' = my team didn't gate and made to look rubbish. The track was poor against Wolves but they attacked it and won the meeting as a result.
  17. So, Belle Vue's win at Leicester was a pass fest, was it?
  18. What did you think was wrong with the track? Like a billiard table compared with the Wolves meeting. I just thought BV were rusty and Swindon took full advantage.
  19. To a degree, I agree your point, but as long as he leads by example at the SWC then I can't see there is an issue. A captain has various functions to perform e.g win races 😀 but also pass on advice to inexperienced riders about track conditions, gearing etc and try to galvanise underperforming riders. Yes, he is a big loss to the EL, In an ideal world he should ride here but if you could do the exact same job in Scotland for 5 times your pay, you would be off like the proverbial rat up a drainpipe. 😋 Woffy is no different. So if you and everyone else would do it, why can't he?
  20. You cannot compare football but you can compare rugby? Who is this bloke Carter I keep hearing about...some All Black apparently. Which club is he playing for? Richie Gray the Scottish loch..where has he played rugby for the last 5 years? If I could play a sport and be paid 5 or 10 times the money I could for undertaking that pleasure in another country, what is the issue? Woffinden is free to do what he likes, as he likes. He is a person who works for himself. It is that simple. He has made a good, sound commercial decision for himself because he is alone responsible and if it goes wrong it's him that carries the can. If he wants to ride in Sweden and Poland only, good luck to him.
  21. Everyone beats Lindgren these days. Only SB thinks he is any good....my mum could have ridden at 4 last night for Wolves and scored as many as Fred. woaaahhhhh CTS. Simmer down son. I thought Wolves were good value for their win last night....
  22. Well done Wolves. Deservedly won after showing the Robins how to gate. I think that has to be the worst performance I have ever seen. Thorsell and Masters were the difference, although, a great performance by the 2016 rider of the year Chas Wright. Showed Tungate and Sedgmen how to get stuck in on a difficult surface. Also, showed Lindgren his back wheel Stevieboy. 1 win and 9 points against that line up...pitiful.
  23. As I say to my girlfriend, one swallow and all that...
