  1. So how have Poole done against the Swindon 1-7 this season? Unfortunately, for someone so young, you seem to have been struck down with amnesia. http://www.swindonrobins.co/news.php?extend.2850 http://www.swindonrobins.co/news.php?extend.2860 Does this help?
  2. I don't think anyone claiming to wear purple chino's should be giving it large...
  3. I'll think you'll find that this troll, is exactly the same troll that pervades most threads under several different names. No Polish in him/her/it at all...
  4. Crowds have dwindled full stop not just for the play offs. People are fed up with the start/stop seasons, the constant changes of rules, the lack of continuity, the cost, the length of time it takes to run a meeting, the same music every week, teams shafting each other to gain an advantage Its not enjoyable anymore. Its a habit for most people, nothing more. This all takes place in a stadium, with the exception of Belle Vue, that you'd be embarrassed to stand in if you weren't a speedway fan.
  5. Dany is fast becoming a fans favourite at The Abbey. The ability to get out of one's sick bed after just 4 days, even though he has a doctors note, clearly shows this bloke is tough as old boots. Not going to let a piece of paper tell him what he can and can't do...
  6. Great performance from the Robins fully deserving of their victory. Excellent decision by the management to rest Doyle and Morris with tougher fixtures ahead. Turnbull showed that a trip to Specsavers is overdue after her exclusion of BWD in heat 14. Swindon's new track inspector, Greaves, did a more than passable impression of Victor Moses as a double decker bus could have been squeezed between the two riders. Batch was excellent and ably supported by Bellego and Ellis. Zak is on the up and destroyed King in heat 8. Finally, well done to RR who was fully deserving of the rider of the night.
  7. Looking at the current line ups, if Rosco has any sense, he'll be straight on the 'dog and bone' to Belle Vue and asking to borrow their hosepipe....
  8. Gater1 and Mr Brains...in the same sentence...shurely shome mishtake. Tungate's non-arrival is not the end of the world. There will be someone to fill Dany's boots soon enough. Clearly, we were outwitted by Belle Vue who probably offered a few more wallaby steaks than El Tel. Given how weak the perceived bottom 4 are, and they are weak, Swindon have been more than competitive. We have 2 wins away from home and 3 losing points, so there can't be too much wrong. Speedway is a funny ol' game. The right rider change will make the difference and there is always someone available that will slot in and make us competitive.
  9. Seriously, is there any point moaning? Nothing has changed or will change. That is not a criticism of anyone here but more of the morons that run the sport in this country. As AO says there are 15 matches in 2 months. Why p*ss about starting the season in March when it can almost be condensed in to a two month period. This season, more than ever, has felt like the sport is on it's knees. Maybe the kindest thing, is for the sport to put itself out of its misery. Maybe that's why there is no rush for the new stadium. Osbourne realises people are disaffected with the sport and is waiting for the supporters to do his dirty work...
  10. The BSPA are doing exactly that. Captain Schettini was the first one off the Costa Concordia after running that particular vessel in to the ground. He was more interested in himself rather than everyone else. Rather apt when when you consider the direction of speedway and how it's run!
  11. Yes, because his average was ridiculously high and Swindon were committed to JD... Now that he is on a proper average of course we want him! 👍
  12. Bless me father for I have sinned...(this is like writing in to Simon Mayo on Radio 2) I would like to confess that I saw Jason Doyle riding at reserve for Poole at Reading. Does this make me a bad person? Will I turn in to a speedway star seller? Or worse still, a Poole fan like Steven of Shovlarville? I ask the Forum for forgiveness but most of all, my fellow Swindon fans that I stooped so low....😞😞😞😞😞 Edit: lack of English...
  13. Not quite true ER... I started going to The Bridge in the early 90's and crowds were in the early to mid 20000. Most speedway fans go out of habit not to be entertained. The people who go irregularly are the ones that want to be entertained.
  14. Ask the Arsenal fans. Would they prefer their team to win 1-0 every week with their back four boring the ** off everyone and winning the league or finish 6th playing nice tippy tappy football? I know what I would want....
  15. You're not an English speaker but you put all the words in the right place. Foreigners, generally can speak English well but do not write it so well... Mmmm....I wonder who you could be?
  16. Which is quite something given that Freddie has 'form' for going down easily on the first bend! Didier Drogba of speedway....😛
  17. Pete Adams clearly on Doyle +1 on the handicap v Fred... No other logical explanation, unless Fred told Pete he didn't want to see Doyle and Mozza's kevlars...again. 🤔
  18. I am not a rules person per se, however, I have checked them. 18.7.1makes no reference to the fact that the rider must be British. The only stipulation is that you start with, and maintain (18.7.3) two riders who have ridden in the NL. By default, I think we have ourselves our 2nd NL rider! 👍 Good news if that is the case as that will give us some wriggle room if we go ahead and make any changes. Edit: We also have ZW but given BWD is currently injured he may be a casualty of the numbers game depending on the length of time he is on the sidelines.
  19. I'll think you'll find Morris rode in the NL for Buxton... Will he have to use it now? 🤔
  20. You had it in for Grondal very early. He was no world beater and perhaps should have done a little more in heat 2 but tried and considering his lack of knowledge re British tracks, he did ok. As for Dany. A little underwhelmed and didn't see anything that made me think we have made an improvement. Ellis, on the other hand, has been extremely poor. To constantly miss the gate and then remain tailed off is not good enough irrespective of where he rode and how he accumulated his points last season. Sure, he may get a spell at reserve but we missed out last season because our home form wasn't good enough and it's started the same this season. The good work of 2 away wins has been wasted already. Re football: fitted in nicely at Bassett. Couldn't trap, couldn't head, couldn't tackle. 👍 😛
  21. No. I have faced you on the football field. That was enough. I'm not sure why you are defending Adam. Is it because his dad ripped in to you a couple of times? He didn't gate, looked like he was riding a bucking bronco and was tailed off badly in his first races. You were very vocal re Grondal but at least Emil had the decency to score some points and somewhere near his average.
  22. Congratulations KL on a deserved victory. Sharper from the tapes and rode the right lines. Batchelor rode well and the best I have seen at The Abbey for a couple of seasons. No throttling off as he entered the bends. Good support from Lambert, Huckenbeck and Holder. Doyle sublime. The score truly flattered Swindon and tough decisions have to be made, and quick.
  23. can you see from your laptop? 🤔😛
  24. If we can get a reserve in that is capable of scoring good points, winning heat 2 at home week in week out and able to swap with BWD we might actually do ok this season. Stefan looked ok the season before last when he was with BV but disappointed me last year when a Robin making too many basic errors. That said, if he has got his confidence back and scoring points regularly then we would be foolish not to consider a change. Potentially tough on Emil, however, no room for sentiment and we need to maintain this good start.
