Poole V Swindon Semi Final 1st Leg 11/9/17

Well, that's a relief. I wasn't sure if 'this bloke' was any good seeing as he was sacked by Poole earlier in the year... -

I am guessing in the light of this revelation grachan we must have rested that title of the 'underdogs' from the home side. It's definitely the 'People's Favourites' team to lose over two legs now methinks. -

It's disappointing that BWD can't take his place tonight. Is Newman any good at Poole? -

So Alpen has to ride with some sort of Ordinance Survey map detailing said lumps and bumps as well as beat Lahti? That could be a toughie for the lad. Hopefully, each of those holes are marked with an X to give him a clue, or is it just one big X? Given that you can't use a phone when driving, would using a map and riding one handed be permissible? Better off blindfolding Alpen, at least it would give Lahti a chance. -

Apologies if this has already been asked but what are the arrangements if the weather intervenes for each fixture? -

I would say the pressure is all on Poole Steve. As you aware, the thought of riding in front of their own fans has clearly had a detrimental effect on the People's Favourites having lost in over 40% of your fixtures at the FPA and riding against a team that is going in to the fixture relaxed from taking it easy in those two away fixtures isn't going to fill them with positive thoughts. Confidence in the Poole camp must be dreadfully low after the maulings they have taken and it must have been disheartening for you and all the Poole fans to see a team crumble from pre-season favourites and top of the league to scraping over the Play Off line. I mean, even Rye, with their appalling away record got stuck in to the buffet that was on offer. To use a cricket analogy, it's probably akin to Rosco winning the toss and putting the Pirates in to bat on a nice bouncy track (literally) and seeing Marshall, Ambrose, Holding and Walsh lining up to bowl. - -

I recognise that sound... It sounds like an engine similar to the ones the Pirates have been using this season. -

Crisp new chinos for the lads too. M & S will be pleased. -

What? As opposed to the pre-season favourites who couldn't beat an egg at home this season? 🤔 -
Holder is a self-employed worker not an employee. I think, irrespective of whether anyone agrees with Holder, that the ban is harsh. He works for himself and because he has managed to upset the village idiot in Norfolk he ends up with a ban that somehow does not fit the crime. The knock on effect to Holder it may affect his ability to work in the country. I would say that's a harsh price to pay for having principles. There are plenty of p*** takers that have shafted British speedway only to have a 28 day ban only. To make an example of Holder is victimisation and not consistent with the previous p*** poor approach by the BSPA where other riders have managed to ride in other countries despite sick notes being produced in the UK. I cant imagine too many people on here would be chuffed if they believed in something, stood up for themselves and was shafted in the way Holder was. Finally, Gavan isn't anti-Poole he puts up reasonable arguments for his views. Just because they are diometrically opposed to those opinions expressed by Poole fans doesn't make him wrong or a troll.

What? The pre-season bookies favourites have done well to get in to the play offs? 🤔😀 Lol You say that you drew at Belle Vue in the A fixture but were well beaten in the beaten in the B fixture? Isn't that what happened at Swindon too? You sound like a drowning man Steve, only there are no more straws for you to clutch at. I hope your boys are spending the weekend wisely by popping in to Halfords. They don't want to be caught short particularly as there is 25% off this weekend. They want to make sure those bicycles are in tip top condition...

Is this the Steve Shovlar that has mocked all and sundry getting offended? Don't worry Steve, if it all goes wrong in the play offs, I have booked myself a ticket to Rome...😎 Can you recommend anywhere to stay? -

Has there been a mid season sale at Halfords? New spokey dokeys? Go faster stripes? New reflectors? At least we will be able to see them as we lap them this time.... -

It's really good to see that KL 'team spirit' shining through there Buster. I bet those Poole fans are really looking forward to parting with £17 tomorrow (weather permitting) to watch a Pirates exhibition of 'gate and go'. In football, it's customary, for a team when they put in a performance so pathetic, they refund their fans, however, I can't believe that any KL fan was unfortunate enough to put this in their diary given the rubbish served up by the Stars over the last month (Swindon performance excepted) but who knows. Can anyone assist Buster with his resignation letter? He seems a little behind with his admin. -

Worrall is mustard round Swindon and he has improved massively. He was Swindon's rider of the year 2-3 years ago and every time he comes back scores well. He is better round Blunsdon than Kyle. Aarnio is ok but I fully expect Riss to be the best reserve on show unless a rabbit is pulled out of the hat by Rosco. Schlein is hit and miss at Blunsdon but RR should be less than what he would ordinarily score. It should be a close meeting but the Robins should prevail. 49-41 -
Do you mean that none of the PO teams will fancy a visit to RH? I am not sure that it would just be Swindon who would give Rye a wide berth if they had the choice?

What's happened to Kennett? Put some Poole kevlars on him and all of a sudden, the bloke that was number 1 at Rye, has 5 goes at winning a race and can't beat an egg. Heat 15 in particular, outgated by Wells and 50 yards behind. Is this what riding for Poole does for you? -
I believe that rubbish is the sort of word you use when your team gets tonked on 5 consecutive occasions at home...

Who can take Heeps rides tonight? Eddie and the stiffs?

I know of someone who hasn't missed a home fixture since 2009 who, after the embarrassment in Norfolk last night and the respective line ups declared for tonight, has decided that a day with the family is more in order rather than spend £50 on returning to Swindon to watch the Robins take on a League Select. I know the line ups for this fixture cannot be helped. This is a direct result of incompetence, which has led to one club having to effectively ride when there is no other choice available to them. Do these promoters not see the direct correlation between several guests and less people in attendance? Or that several fixtures in a short period of time hurts people's spare cash? Its clear that the SS Buster Chapman is rudderless and is charting dangerous choppy waters. He has been involved in 2 high profile incidents in an extremely short period of time, which leave the sport with less credibility than before (difficult to believe that statement isn't it). If you believe DAC he had some involvement in the Belle Vue debacle as well. Is this a man that should be allowed to remain as the main man in our sport. I think not! Chapman is an embarrassment and should, if he has an ounce of dignity, resign his position as Chairman immediately as, in my opinion, his position is untenable.

Kings Lynn Vs Wolves ( Double Header) 23.08,17

Speedway doing your nut? Fixture congestion because of incompetent promoters? Supporters hacked off as Play Off Final moved about willy nilly? BSPA Chairman in the sh*t? Relax and tune in to Blueboy FM. Just about to announce the top 5 (that's not the Kings Lynn team by the way) 5. Advance Australia Fair (requested by a couple of whinging locals) 4. Return of the Las Palmas 7 - Madness (Rather apt for running a double header against the same team!) Big Lol. 3. The Sun Ain't Going To Shine - Walker Bros 2. White Flag - Dido 1. Help! The Beatles That's it from me...not 'arf.
