  1. I saw Liam Carr up here in the NL, I think riding for Coventry. Not a bad rider and gave Danny Ayres plenty to think about even though he got a max. If BWD able to ride Swindon should score comfortably enough at reserve to take a healthy lead to the NSS.
  2. Many Swindon fans knew they would win and decided not to top up Ford's bank account. A win win as it happens. If you think circa 1500 is good then Poole are in big trouble.
  3. I have mightily impressed by TJ on the occasions I have seen him live this season. Good trapper and v.quick in front. Good start to 2018 and if you can persuade NKI to return or engage a similar number 1 you'll be in a good position.
  4. More importantly is BWD fit to ride now that he has some extra time to recover. I don't understand the bitching from our South Coast cousins re BWD given that wrist injuries are quite common in Dorset and they fully understand the need to rest the wrist fully to get maximum benefit....
  5. You should be proud of Newman. A local lad who has done good and showed the Poole fans who moaned about his underperforming earlier in the season what they missed. The ol' maxim 'form is temporary, class is permanent' springs to mind. What I have noticed is that both the Poole assets that were treated so shabbily by their club earlier this season both turned the knife on their return...coincidence?
  6. Why is he complaining at all? Poole have cheated and pulled that many stunts Evil Knievel could get a ride in your team. It has been well documented that BWD stated on his Facebook page early on Monday a.m that he was unable to ride due to an injury. What Middlo is suggesting is that BWD lied and the Swindon manager was complicit in this, even though he has come out and said that his conscience is clear. Middlo, is in fact, actually doubting the integrity of two people. Not very professional given his team's track record. Best he gets out of that glass house....his windows are going to smashed in if he carries on like this.
  7. The thing I liked the best was in the actual 'comments section' in the paper where one of Kyle's sponsors 'Bill Burridge' confirms that he was more than happy for KN to have guested. I have quoted said paragraph from the Bournemouth Echo for my fellow forumites. 'As a sponsor of both Kyle Newman and Hans Andersen, AeroSolutions (GB) Ltd -a locally based company, does not have an issue with Kyle Newman's decision to accept and fulfill his guest appearance for Swindon Speedway in their match against Poole Speedway. In business, difficult decisions sometimes have to be made and, in the same manner that Poole Speedway felt they needed to release Kyle Newman in June to capitalise on his Green Sheet Average, Kyle quite rightly needs to capitalise on his earning potential. In my view both parties made appropriate business decisions and there should be absolutely no animosity from any quarter. Let me assure all readers, Kyle Newman is a loyal Poole asset and as a rider does more behind the scenes work for Poole Speedway than any other club asset that I know of.' Final score at the FPA Pirates 0 Newman Won
  8. I've just been in to Sainsbury's in Poole...seems they have run out of grapes. The report in the Bournemouth Echo is comedy gold. http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/15531547.I__39_m_the_innocent_victim_insists_Kyle_Newman/?ref=fbshr How Middleditch has the tumerity to act all indignant given the stunts Poole have pulled over the years is unbelievable. Must have skin like rhino hide.
  9. Absolutely. It used to be that you'd have to be there early to get a decent spot but clearly the Poole fans are only interested in speedway when they are top of the table and dominating. I guess most of them realised it would be P3 L3 v Swindon and saved themselves £17.
  10. My brother and I only decided to travel down to Poole at 15.00 due to the possibility of a rain off. The forecast was extremely hit and miss, so can understand the decision of any Swindon fan not to travel. There was much more than 20 Swindon fans there but SS, I think, was trying to detract from the poor home crowd. I turned up at just after 19.00 and walked straight in. I could have even sat in the stand if I so desired, which should tell you it was a below par crowd for a semi final. Look forward to the hundreds of 'The People's Favourites' supporters making the short trip now they are right back in the tie.
  11. Judged by the results at the FPA this season everyone loves it bumpy...
  12. Was it a 'source'? 🤔 Well, not sure why he would do that when, he himself posted on Facebook in to the Swindon Robins Supporters page some 16 hours earlier to say he wasn't riding giving clear reasons why. Rosco has advised his conscience is clear. I posted a link from the Evening Advertiser just prior to your post. Looks a line can be drawn under that particular aspect. Edit: I missed grachan's post. A late night/early start.
  13. Rosco's take on the first leg... http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/15528858.REPORT__Poole_Pirates_44_Swindon_Robins_46/?ref=fbshr
  14. Where was the Poole support? I've come down before and it's been 6 or 7 deep on that first bend. I turned to the bloke next to me and I said oiiiiiiiiiii.... Seems to me that there must have been either a double edition of Corrie on tonight or a full house paid £20 tonight at The Mecca. Heard more noise at a funeral....
  15. I am stood just 10 yards from the legend. He doesn't look like he's doing much to earn his keep. Just led on the fence. Lazy sod.
  16. Can someone tell me what time the crowd turns up at Poole? This is embarrassing. I thought I'd walked on to the set of One Man and His Dog...
  17. An absolute sh*t storm currently on the South Coast. Will be much, much brighter this evening once Kyle has scored a couple of wins in front of his adoring fans...
  18. What's to buy? What evidence do you have? The problem is that the people of Poole are judging the Swindon management by their own ridiculously low standards. Great...isn't it. 👍
  19. Judged by the comments on here the only place will be between the shoulder blades...
  20. Surely, Poole fans aren't that shallow and realise the boy is just putting bread on the table? Admittedly, it will be like a Hovis warehouse but 'he's one of your own' as the football fans like to sing these days.
  21. I wonder if Kyle has been offered a team place by the Robins for 2018? Saw how Adam Ellis has progressed and thought 'I'll have some of that'?
  22. Jeez, this thread is full of Aussie speedway riders. If BWD says he is unfit, he is unfit. Not for anyone else to say so or call it I'm afraid. It's called integrity and everyone thinks they have it, so let's give the boy the benefit of the doubt. Definitely made my mind up to go seeing as we are up against it. Will need all the support we can. If we can get to 40 we have a chance in a fortnight. PPF: where do you and the gang hang out? I'll pop over and have a chat.
