  1. Well done Belle Vue. Good luck in the final. Hopefully, One Hand can ride on Monday because if that's the best THJ can serve up we are in big trouble.
  2. That's appalling...lying to officers too. No moral compass in Dorset. Poole 'cheating scumbag' Pirates
  3. To be honest, it's not the speedway issues that wind me up. I can't believe that it's taken promoters this long to arrange fixed nights. What has been the resistance to implementing a coherent plan to work within the Speedway world? It's set Speedway in this country back several years to the point we have lost our status. We have several riders doubling up to supplement their income and we have nights of 4/5 regular riders and guests. What goes on every year at the AGM because it appears you don't listen to your fans concerns and continually plough the same lonely furrow with an ever decreasing fan base. The starting point has now been acieved. The next point is to ensure the teams run the same 7 riders week in week out, as much as injuries/participation in FIM sanctioned events will allow. Finally, sort out a deal with Sky/BT worthy of a professional sport that will cover the costs to ensure top riders can be tempted back. The deal currently in place is not worthy of the name. It can't be that difficult to ask for x2 or x3 the current deal. Both these organisations have money to burn. The people in charge of the rights have to go out and sell the sports properly. I go to the ice hockey in Swindon. Not every week but 4 to 5 times a season. The dynamics of the two sports could not be more different. In the 10 years I have followed the ice hockey the weekly crowd has increased certainly two fold in the time and hundreds of young children are in attendance. I look at the speedway and you'll be lucky to see 40-50 children. It's time for the promoters to walk the walk. They have talked the talk for far too long...
  4. Yes...just teasing our South Coast friends, hence my reference to the coomedog's earlier comment.
  5. Just seen on Facebook that BWD has put his Swindon race suit up for sale. Seems that the chat, in Aldi Thamesdown Drive, may have been spot on... Did you overhear anything else coombie?
  6. That's the easy bit to be honest. This is a professional sport but run in a very Corinthian way. I accept that each of those tasks are performed but promoters have 6 months to ensure they have a competitive team and ensure that relevant finance is in place. If the promotion have constructed an exciting team it will entice customers to watch each week, and that is the crux, every week. If people get out of the habit of going week in week out because promoters cannot provide a coherent fixture list or a team worthy for them to part with their hard earned then those promotions cannot moan when they incur massive losses. This season has been an absolute disgrace in terms of fixture planning. I cannot use the words I want to describe the situation that we currently have with both the KOC and the PO running at exactly the same time. So yes, I do think they are monkeys. Nothing changes. Shambolic governance at all levels, which are well documented and discussed ad nauseum on this forum, yet promoters, and I believe from previous comments you have made you have been one, continue to fiddle whilst Rome burns. Promoters are the cause of every single problem within speedway, not the customer, however, promoters continue to treat us all with contempt.
  7. Fancy that...a supporter has potentially managed to resolve one of the most contentious issues that blights British Speedway. Just what do those monkeys, who masquerade as promoters, actually do? It's embarrassing that the supporters have a better idea how to run British speedway than those supposedly in charge. All you need to do now SCB is to get hold of the rule book, rip it up, insert proper rules that can be adhered to by both promoters and referee. Form an independent group that rules on all contentious issues making immediate decisions so all parties are aware and maybe the sport may return from the Dark Ages. Vote SCB...
  8. Looking forward to this. Should be a big crowd for this one at £10 a pop, which unfortunately didn't happen for the first leg. Be great to see a couple of coach loads up from Poole to take advantage of the cheap entry fee, which will be roughly double the first leg crowd. In addition to this Gala Bingo is just down the road so the 'silver threads' can get in a bit of double bubble with a bingo/speedway combo. With a bit of luck, BWD's hand has improved sufficiently to take his place, as KN didn't score nearly enough to make the difference everyone thought. Very confident that those Poole fans looking to catch the last flight to Rome on the 25th should be able to do so round about heat 10...
  9. Providing I have read the rule correctly, there should be appeal submitted prior to the following heat. There is absolutely no mention of the fact if it's a KOC semi-final over 2 legs and it's the first leg there is dispensation for the SCB to overturn the result. If an appeal is submitted, correctly per the ruling, and that appeal is upheld then I have no problem with that. Rules are out in place to be adhered to, well except the well thumbed Poole copy. So, unless Lemon appealed before heat 13, as the rule stands no further action should be taken.
  10. But rules are rules? It cannot be decided which rules to apply just because an error was made pre-meeting. Was the ref part of the decision that decided the riding order?
  11. All decisions made by a referee are interpretation - his/hers. The problem is that decisions made by those referees are made in the heat of battle, and in real time. Sometimes a split second to decide. Hence, why they can be wrong. In this case, there has been no reason for Alpen's non-appearance in heat 12. He could have been injured from the heat 9 fall. He may not. Rosco should clarify what happened here if points are lost. I don't have a problem if the points are deducted, if Swindon have transgressed the rules, then the general position adopted is a deduction of points.
  12. I don't doubt what you say and I fully acknowledge your superior knowledge of speedway, however, surely grachan has a point? If a ref makes a mistake, it is just that. I know results have been adjusted for varying reasons in speedway but it doesn't happen in other sports. Maradonna's hand of God, Pedro Mendes effort v Man U. People edging the ball in cricket and not being given. These are examples where the results are materially affected by officials making mistakes but results are allowed to stand, however, speedway seems to correct those mistakes. Is this how it's always been? Given how other sports accept the position should Speedway follow suit?
  13. Kim Nilsson was excluded in Sweden this week. I couldnt work out what he'd done and he was no different to of any of the other riders 'gardening' at the start. It's very simple. As soon as the ref puts two minutes on the riders must be ready to race as soon as that clock counts down to 0:00. When the last rider leaves the pits the gate is shut and is not to be reopened unless e.g crash, however, any adjustments can take place until that rider leaves. If a rider is adjudged to have delayed the start or tapes infringement then the rider is excluded and no reserve replacement or 15m. I'd much rather have a 3 rider race than the continued shenanigans that blight meeting after meeting from GP to NL. Excellent gater and did well. Lack of track craft was his downfall but that's inexperience. Overall did well and certainly, imo, looked quicker than Mitchell Davey who had performed well the week before.
  14. The inference from the regulations is that an appeal must be made before the following heat? Assuming I have read that correctly. Or are you saying, that the SCB can arbitrarily amend the result irrespective of whether an appeal was made by BV?
  15. I wondered what happened to the West Midlands Serious Crime Squad...
  16. Why, if you were disqualified in heat 3 for movement, would you be disqualified again in heat 9? Musielak moved in each running of heat 3 and was rightly disqualified. You start again thereafter. Come on Walter, if your going to bash the ref for incompetence, at least get it right.
  17. Without doubt the worst meeting I have attended and showed the sport up for what it is - amateur. Firstly, well done Belle Vue. A great performance by both Fricke and Polar. I accept that there was an intial delay due to the serious injury sustained by Jack Smith (I hope that it's not too serious) but once the meeting restarted it should have been dealt with in a quick professional way to enable the paying public to enjoy the meeting and get home as quickly as possible. Instead, we ambled along, no hurry, no desire to put the two minutes on. Several re-runs and the ridiculous sight of riders retuning to the pits every time. To do what exactly I have no idea. The sight of the tractor at 10.15 on a freezing cold evening is an absolute disgrace and whoever within the Swindon management decided that was the right thing to do needs a proper word with themselves. My brother has not missed a match at home since 2007 left after 13 heats and is seriously on the point of walking away. The sport is in dire need of direction and an independent body. The people in charge have highlighted that they are not fit to run a professional sport. The first thing thing that needs to be done is to find out what we want. The customer should be king. The boll*cks that passed for sport tonight was embarrassing. Edited for proper English.
  18. Really? The meeting has taken nearly 2 and half hours to run and they bring out the tractor.... Seriously, who are these people that run speedway.
  19. If they have any sense they should give BWD 3 and Carr the extra ride. Looks very capable off the tapes and has the beating of JE.
  20. I saw Liam Carr up here in the NL, I think riding for Coventry. Not a bad rider and gave Danny Ayres plenty to think about even though he got a max. If BWD able to ride Swindon should score comfortably enough at reserve to take a healthy lead to the NSS.
  21. Many Swindon fans knew they would win and decided not to top up Ford's bank account. A win win as it happens. If you think circa 1500 is good then Poole are in big trouble.
