  1. Many thanks for the swift reply Jayne...yours and malcolms replies are most appreciated.
  2. Malcolm Is there a facility which would allow the likes of Joe Haines to ride in the NL. A rider above a 5 point PL average, no premier league team place this year, recovering from serious injury etc etc....it'd be a shame if such a rider is frozen out through no fault of his own. Is there a facility that allows such a rider chance to ride national league, perhaps on a negociated lower average?
  3. Whether Paul becomes the number one or not remains to be seen, I think we need to remember the horrific injuries he sustained last year. It could take a while for Paul to get back to his best. I think any rider, particularly young brits, who's suffered career threatening injuries should at least be allowed the opportunity to regain confidence by riding in the National League....regardless of averages.
  4. The Saints offers us Scunny fans genuine hope of success this season....the thought of us sharing with Sheffield has just dampened my enthusiasm somewhat. Love Scunny, Love the Saints, there meetings last season were just as, if not more entertaining as the Scorpions....don't think i'll bother travelling to Sheffield to watch them. I'm sure Robs doing this all for good reason, it can't be easy fitting all the meetings in without running double headers etc...but I'm feeling a bit deflated now, it's like we're losing part of our identity and the success that is The Saints.
  5. Easy Peasy, a team full of Scunny Assets. Steve Worrall Richie Worrall Ash Birks Gary Irving Adam Wrathall Byron Bekker Luke Chessell or Scott Richardson In all fairness I possibly opt for Luke rather than Scott. Scott's been around Scunny for years now, he's promised alot over the years but has never quite managed go up a notch. Maybe he'd benefit from a year elsewhere? He rides Stoke pretty well..? Would prefer Richard Franklin over either of these two, is going out on loan again? I'd like to see Byron given another chance to resurrect his Scunny career. He'd add a bit of steel and his experience should benefit some of the younger lads.
  6. http://www.scunthorpespeedway.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1282434261&archive=&start_from=&ucat=6& Last paragraph...seems its Bank Holiday Monday, double header with Sheffield
  7. EdwardIan. You don't half come across as a rather bitter, troublesome individual. The general tone and negativity in your posts are very much in common with the illiterate rubbish spouted on the somewhat quiet unofficial forum. Any coincidence?
  8. Just out of interest does anyone know whether Scunny would have to pay for an appeal? Not that this case should need an appeal, surely a bit of common sense from the powers that be would bring the whole situation to an amicable end....I won't hold my breath though.
  9. This thread will probably run and run, probably esculate until the speedway authorities show some common sense and dish out some justice. Rye tried to pull a fast one and got caught out...cheated, used an illegal rider...serious enough offence but as yet seems they've got away with it unpunished. Whilst on the other hand, Scunny quite rightly rode under protest, their suspicions were deemed correct by the powers that be..yet his (Nelsons) points still count..result stands? Whats all that about then! Wheres the justice in that? I'm a Scunny supporter...to me The Saints are all about developing our young kids, they're a joy to watch. I'm not bothered where they finish in the league table, i'm not desparate for league points to be awarded in our direction..but at the same time I don't believe Rye deserve to keep the 4 points they walked away with. All I and many others want to see is justice done....why does it take the BSPA, SCB or whoever so long to issue a statement on the situation?
  10. They're maybe hoping Scunny will appeal...and charge them for the pleasure of doing so.
  11. So as far as your concerned "cheating" is the name of the game.
  12. So cheatings the name of the game now. He's been proved illegal for god sake, yet his points stand, how bloody stupid is that. If it was another team or promoter cheating in this way they'd be hung, drawn and quartered...Seems Uncle Len has the SCB/BSPA wrapped round his little finger. Disgusting, come on BSPA..sort yourselves out!
  13. Absolute Twaddle!...Perhaps wouldn't mind him in the Scorpions team...but definately not the Saints. We believe in our young british kids and take much pride in watching them develope.
  14. May as well call it the Aussie Development League and be done with it!
  15. Shame on you Mr Silver..Everyone that has seen this lad (Ty Nelson) ride knows what standard of rider he is..he's an aussie and far too good to be messing around in the British Development League...and at reserve too. So another young brit likely to find himself on the sidelines whilst you give this kid chance to shine at a level well below his ability. I've always supported the National League and love to see young british kids progress up the speedway ladder...I now fear for the credibility of this league.
  16. Yeah..opportunity?..One way or another, the kid was badly advised and was poached away from Scunthorpe...He was progressing well at Scunny before he upped n opted to sign for Coventry/Dudley, somewhere down the line his progression has been halted. Had the kid stayed at Scunny he'd of benefitted from plenty free practice, given time to develope, who knows how his career may have panned out....now the poor kids on the Scrapheap. I'm with the majority on here..call it what you want..the third tier of British Speedway should be for the development of British talent only.
