  1. Not a classic EWR meeting, but still a very good one with some fantastic racing from both sides. Ipswich certainly deserved a draw, think Scunny perhaps got the rub of the green today. Covatti was superb for Ipswich, a joy to watch riders attack the dirt.. and nice to see Lewis Kerr back on track and looking good. For Scunny, Auty looked great in his first ride, then appeared to get hampered by team mates in his subsequent rides. Not a bad showing from the rest of the Scorps, all had their moments... Hopefully Davies and Wilko are ok after their mishaps.
  2. Don't they say "any publicity is good publicity"... well that statement will be well n truly put to the test after this latest fiasco.
  3. I remember being at a world championship motocross meeting back in the 70's.. The big time charlies of the motocross world voted not to race because they feared the track was too dry and too dangerous... That didn't stop a host of support riders putting on a fantastic meeting in their absence. Speedway riders should appreciate the troubles within our sport (a lot of the problems are down to them!), they should've at least given it a go, even if getting round safely meant only giving it 60% effort.
  4. I could be wrong, but isn't Andreas Lyager riding for the same Polish team as Klindt this season?
  5. Id be happy if the rumours prove correct.. done ok for us in the past... better option than taylor poole in my opinion.
  6. Lyager hasn't got an official average yet (one meeting short I believe).. so still a 7?
  7. I'd love to see a large European League, say for example, top 4 British, 4 Polish, 4 Danish, 4 Swedish, all the worlds best riders. Then have one big British League..plus a National League.
  8. Glasgow Edinburgh Plymouth Sheffield Workington Scunthorpe Peterborough Newcastle Rye House Ipswich Berwick Somerset Redcar To be honest.. I see Glasgow topping the league, the rest are so evenly matched its almost impossible to predict. Other than Glasgow, can't see too many teams picking up much away from home.
  9. Team race suits would be cool.. Assuming Hendersons are still backing, how about Blue/White Henderson Insurance Kevlars... Team Sponsored by Fluid Air Power... Seem to recall a road racer once being sponsored by Hendersons, think he wore Henderson adorned leathers?
  10. That is very true.. a risk a buying club would need to consider.
  11. Gazc is right..He is only worth what someone want's to pay basically and if it is acceptable to the selling club. There ain't much money in speedway, we all know that.. I guess even loan fee's are minimal?.. My question is, what would the total cost of 4/5 years loan fee's amount to?..£3-4000 ish? Is that a reasonable amount for a rider of his calibre? That would be about the right amount of cash needed to enable Scunny to replace the air panels Nike bust last year..lol Out of interest, anyone on here know how much loan fee's are these days?
  12. What is a reasonable transfer fee for a rider of Nike Lunna's calibre these days?... Lunna is young, bags of potential, national under 21 champ... An amount equivalent to whatever it would cost a club in loan fees for 4 or 5 years?
  13. Lunna will do well for Glasgow.. young kid, great lad, still learning, will put at least a point on his 4.5 ave.. I wanted him back at Scunny, guess his average didn't quite fit into our team building plans.. Best of luck to him.
  14. I heard he asked to be dropped/replaced, got his wish...then a few weeks later he asked to come back. ?
  15. If the 3 pointer is announced as the rider that I believe we have signed...and I'm fairly confident I know the identity of the rider in question....then I'd be more than happy. He's young, talented, certainly bags of potential and just the sort of rider a fast track system is designed to benefit.
  16. No real surprise .... Welcome back Dougie... No visa issues either, bonus. :-)
  17. The teams been sorted a while...and I reckon most of us have it sussed....just a case of releasing names. I think Wilko will be the next name confirmed.
  18. JPB worth a shot.. rides our track well. Stylish and takes some beating when he gets in front. Is he old enough?
  19. Strangely...for a Scorpion, i'm hoping Sheffield can go all the way. Good Luck to them.
  20. Heat 14... Ref called it white, blue, red over the line.. that's also what I recorded on my sheet as they crossed the line. Therefore, 1st Holder, 2nd Davies, 3rd Wilkinson. Maybe Graham announced it wrong? Incident Recorder.
  21. So Newman lies too.... Cos he blatantly touched the tapes before the tapes caught his helmet... And Davies beat him fair and square, it was close but it was Davies by half a wheel length. They're the facts....
  22. Yawn yawn yawn... You appear to have failed your mission Lewy, take a chill pill and get over it. Rob was faced with a situation with Theo, dealt with it like any good promoter would...he actually went to lengths and explained it pretty well to the crowd too. Best promoter in the business.
