  1. Where are we strengthening.... Lyager for Morris.. I don't necessarily think that strengthens us. Can't see any other great changes unless robs got something up his sleeve... I can't see us going out and getting a big hitting number one, that would be a financial disaster.
  2. Would it not be in the best interest for speedway to stick to proper averages and not have any restrictions in place. As it is the new ruling is flawed whichever way you look at it. Stick Holub on a five and place in the main body of the team, that only gives a stronger reserve rider the chance to take one of his rides... Is that fair? It can be argued that having him use his real average of three and a place at reserve actually weakens us!
  3. Maybe it's because that's his real average and his position in the team has to reflect that.. If we make further team changes later on in the season, Holub and Lyager would probably be counted as fives and hence give us less points to play with. I don't know, I'm only guessing. Maybe because they aren't new riders to the league, they both rode some meetings last year, albeit without getting an official average. ???
  4. Can just imagine the look on Robs face when having to pay Cookie for a maximum every week... lol
  5. Has it been confirmed that Holubs on a 3.0 Ave? The latest set of greensheet aves have got him down as 3... but is that an error?
  6. But the change they're proposing doesn't really strengthen the team that much, if at all.. Unless Robs got a master plan that he's keeping to himself? Lyagers ok, certainly got potential... but if we've got more points to play with....?
  7. To be honest, I don't think swapping Morris with Lyager will make us that much stronger, if indeed at all. What it does is add to the asset base, which I guess is the important thing. Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong...As Holub and Lyager was/are assessed averaged riders...that means for team building purposes, their ave can't drop below five... And as assessed riders, we have to stick with them regardless for the remainder of the season?
  8. Was a good meeting and a great win for Scunny...10 point lead is possibly not gonna be enough...but who knows. Expected more from Newcastle.. Lambert, Worrall and Lindgren were very good value but lacked sufficient back up from the rest of their guys. A typical Newcastle performance around the EWR! Solid team effort from Scunny, all the boys chipped in and were made to work extremely hard for their points. It would've been so easy for Rob to pull the meeting on the strength of the weather forecast... so great credit to him for getting the meeting on. It must be the promoters worst nightmare to have heavy rain descend just an hour or so before the start of the meeting... It must of had a detrimental effect on the attendance.
  9. Still overcast in Scunny... Dry, no rain as yet... and quite blowy...hopefully the forecast of rain between 12-3 was wrong.
  10. Cold weather put some regulars off yesterday... we've had some blooming cold meetings so far this year.. add to that a deal of despondency due to lack of form and a few home defeats...and there's your reason for a lower than expected crowd. That said, its a bit ironic that the weather improved by the start time, arriving at the track, I was pleasantly surprised how mild it had become, was really cold early afternoon. Hopefully we'll be blessed with some nice bank holiday weather next week...Given that... and this much needed, moral boosting home win...plus a better and more attractive opposition in Newcastle... hopefully the locals will be out in force next week.
  11. I know some supporters were put off because of the cold weather forecast... As it was, turned out much milder than expected, was somewhat warmer than it was earlier in the afternoon... Almost tropical for scunny.
  12. Not a bad prediction there NBT.. Little Josh got his win, and a fine ride it was too... his riding deserved more than his paid six tally. Big Josh and Wilko came to the fore too... match winning performances. Plymouth didn't really have a potent point scorer tonight.. Scunny fully deserving the win.
  13. I'm pleased for Plymouth fans that you've still got speedway to support... Just take a bit of your own medicine though, speedways going though enough rubbish without aiming short shots on others.... Up the scorps!
  14. Keep up... blooming heck lewy, not just scunny that's poor this year! God help you.
  15. Forget about the likes of Pedersen or Karlsson... Yes it would be nice to have a big hitter, a big name.. But, If we want to keep speedway alive in Scunny, surely we need to avoid riders that would bleed us dry.
  16. Cant wait for this meeting... If only to find out what the ruling on the t/r turns out!
  17. Whatever the ruling... us fans deserve clarification. As a Scunny fan, it wouldn't bother me one iota if they amended our score, not like it would makes any difference to the result. Scrapping TRs altogether may be the way forward. To be told one week that its not available, then the following week told it is.... whats that all about? Hope the SCB or BSPA make some announcement before too long. As a side, has anyone seen the rule book yet?.. has it gone to print?... Or are we are going by the online version ..if so is that still in draft form? I only ask because a week or so ago I was told it hadn't gone to print.
  18. Tigerite... a number of those times are wrong. Maybe the person didn't quite catch Grahams announcements, he was battling with the mike all afternoon. Yes, Lasse Bjerre was that much faster. The track dramatically dried and produced faster times from heat 10 onwards. Infact heat 15 was a full 4 seconds faster than Lasse's win in heat 11. For the benefit of those whom didn't get the race times... and those who's lives depend on them... lol. 1. 60.88 2. 63.00 3. 63.57 4. 63.88 5. 64.13 6. 64.69 7. 65.06 8. 62.44 9. 64.00 10. 64.82 11. 63.19 12. 62.01 13. 60.38 14. 60.07 15. 59.18
  19. Afraid, on this occasion your informers weren't that reliable... Ht10 time was 64.82
  20. Ref (Peter Clarke) got clarification prior to todays meeting... that being, Tacticals allowed in LC Qualifying matches..but not the finals. Bit of confusion last week when it was understood that no tacticals were to be used...just as well neither team were in a position to take one!
  21. Tactical rides allowed in the Qualification Stages.. not the finals. Scunny were woeful today, they did improve as the track dried out but by then the damage had been done. Bad day at the office, only Auty, Douglas and Bailey deserve any real praise. Credit to Sheffield, they attacked the conditions and thoroughly deserved their win.
  22. So it wasn't the riders fault... nor was it the refs fault...definitely not the SCB or BSPAs fault...definately not the Belle Vues promotions fault.... therefor, that just about leaves the poor spectators, it must your fault, why the hell didn't you tell them earlier that their track was unfit! you Naughty supporters!
