  1. You can add Ryan Fisher and Billy Janniro to that list ~ had the pair of them off by charging up the inside of them in one race, which is his speciality.
  2. Must admit I do find it strange why anyone would consider buying a new house next to a Speedway track so I'm joining the 'Pessimistic' list.
  3. If my memory was better I would be able to post the journey made by a gentleman that was written on the forum a couple of years ago which I'm pretty sure involved the use of a train, a bus and a good walk. But as I can't remember the details or even the track he attended ~ although I think it was Arena Essex ~ I'll just have to hope someone else does.
  4. It must be me with a warped sense of humour but I thought the post by KKS was quite funny. I don't know why people take this forum so seriously and get the hump over things.
  5. Same at Swindon but at least we had a nice escort to show us the way out of the stadium car park. Just a shame he didn't go right to the gate as we must have made a wrong turning after he left and ended up at the back of the stadium amongst a load of vans but still in the car park.
  6. I wouldn't like to bet on that as Swindon still have two matches at Coventry and I'm feeling a bit pessimistic about the result of these. Hopefully I will be proved wrong and we have nothing to worry about. Darcy Ward? Who's he?
  7. Ah...thanks for that. I thought it was just Wednesday.
  8. So how come there are Danish and Polish League matches when they are supposed to have a set race day, which is not a Friday? A lot of UK fans go on about us riding on a set day which would help solve all our problems and encourage the 'names' to return yet Poland and Denmark obviously don't stick to theirs.....unless I'm missing something?
  9. No not painful at all. In fact I really enjoyed both matches. The only thing I ever moan about is sunbreaks ~ not applicable at Coventry anyway thank goodness ~ and hanging around watching tractors go round umpteen times. That's what spoilt the Sidecar meeting on Friday somewhat but I'm sure next time things will be speeded up. The two Storm matches today contained some great racing on a par with any E.L. match so well done to all the riders for putting on a brilliant show.
  10. It would be interesting to know what he's doing these days. He would be 50 years old now. http://grasstrackgb.co.uk/nigel-death/
  11. Sorry not me, although I am going. I have explained to Sue I do have a mobile phone (somewhere) but it's a very old one and costs 12p per text. I only keep it in case of an emergency when I'm driving on my own. Hope you get someone.
  12. Shame you missed it but it was mentioned in the Grasstrack/Sidecar/Short track/Cycle Speedway section on the forum. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=79964 Also if you are on Facebook there were loads of adverts for it ~ I even shared it myself. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10154116547983378&set=gm.385249568335210&type=1&theater The meeting itself was really good with some excellent racing, great music (for a change at Brandon!) and a very knowledgeable announcer. Big crowd too which was good to see. £10 admission fee. What more could we ask for? Well, just one thing please - less track grading which made the meeting a long drawn out affair. Don't know about Grasstrack fans but there were a lot of Bees fans there so presumably loads from the Grasstrack world as well being as there was such a big turnout. I don't know if Coventry is classed as one of the biggest tracks but they seemed to manage okay last night with plenty of overtaking. Pretty scary stuff though. I think I'll stick to Speedway. Glad you enjoyed it Fraser. I've seen a photo on Facebook now so recognise Peter as the same one who I used to see ride Speedway at Long Eaton. By the way has anyone told you that you must be absolutely crackers to be a passenger?
  13. As long as there isn't too much track grading and they get a move on I won't be doing too much moaning hopefully. Gawd! I'm sick to death of watching tractors go round after tonight.
  14. Well, I did actually include supper as well originally but then decided I'd better not be too cheeky. I'm sure everything will run very smoothly.
  15. I think Swindon will win at home and I think Swindon will win at Coventry.......just to be different. (Well, not strictly true as I do believe this will happen.)
  16. So there is a 'double header' on Sunday starting at 2pm versus Kings Lynn, followed by a match against Stoke. Now what I want to know is should I pack up some tea as well as dinner or is the referee going to keep the races going at a good pace? Where's Frank Ebdon when you need him? I haven't seen anything yet about the admission price either.
  17. I can't remember who but someone suggested the bags contain water, not completely filled but just the bottom bit would do as the weight would hold it down. Would that not be a good idea?
  18. Probably the rule that states 'In the best interests of speedway'.
  19. My answer to that is 'No.' I'd get rid of the lot, G.P. riders included and if that means I don't get to see Chris Harris ride for Coventry because he's still pratting about in the G.P's then fair enough I'll put up with it. I just wish all the teams in the E.L. and P.L. would join up into two regionalized leagues before I kick the bucket as I'm sick of all the gaps in the fixture list. The top 4 in each league then meet each other in play-offs at the end of the season. Never happen though as there probably aren't enough riders to go around.
  20. It was no good asking me what a speedway troll is because I've never used the word myself to you or anyone else on here so you're best to ask someone who has called you a 'troll'. I answered the question you directed at me about the definition of a speedway fan and a speedway follower. It's easy enough to google 'troll' anyway. Apparently it's this .......... In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[3]
  21. Coventry I should think. Only about 20 miles apart and quite a few people like to go to both tracks so I wouldn't think Coventry would be very keen on Leicester riding on a Friday night.
  22. Last year? I can't remember any details from last week's matches, apart from blinking track grading and getting soaked at Leicester. Why should I as I've never called you or anyone else a troll.
  23. Wouldn't it be nice though if the fans were informed what was happening instead of just hanging around watching umpteen laps by the tractor with a bit of music playing in the background? I'm pretty sure if I had counted I saw more of these than laps by speedway bikes which I had paid to watch and the dog wasn't much company as she was asleep. This isn't just a criticism of Leicester as it happens at Coventry too and no doubt other tracks. Not that it will bother me now as I won't be back.
