  1. With respect the Manchester to Wolverhampton journey is a sight lot nearer than the 200 mile one from the Swindon area. The dodgy weather forecast too wouldn't have encouraged many to bother. I admire those that did.
  2. As long as you can find out the teams in the correct order beforehand, not alphabetical as the promotion like to do it. Mind you, it doesn't matter how awkward they are they still wouldn't make me buy a programme as I just print a blank one and fill the names in when I get there.
  3. It's a long old journey from down there on a weekday ~ over 200 miles ~ so not too surprising, but I know 4 of my Swindon friends went and had to battle through torrential rain on the way so not very pleasant. They probably felt even worse going home.
  4. I'm sure someone will carry him to his bike ~ he's not that big. Kenny rode with a broken leg and still sorted out the Collins Brothers. He's a tough lad so I know he'll ride through the pain barrier for the Bees if at all possible. Fingers crossed.
  5. Yes, just for Speedway. Everyone has to be out by the end of the Andy Williams song otherwise they get locked in until the next match.
  6. My opinion too and I would add that the first match was run at a fast pace with the 2 minutes being put on whilst the riders from the previous race were still on the track so a good referee that night, who I think was Dave Watters.
  7. Get on the emailing list instead. Always seems to be up to date information given.
  8. Don't expect me to remember something from last season as I haven't enough brain cells left to store useless Speedway information. Post 10 as far as I can see is about Belle Vue and an EL match so nothing to do with a NL match at Coventry which is what I was referring to when I said 'wait until it happens.' I presumed we were both on the same subject as Brandon is where you seem to get your Speedway fix these days, but looking again at the topic title I'm obviously wrong so apologise. I'm quite happy to be 'ripped off' at the moment if that's your opinion and I'm not going to kick up a fuss at paying £15 for 23 races.
  9. Can't see anything wrong with that reply to someone saying they'd never go to Coventry again. I'd be a bit tetchy too (if that's what you think it is) if I knew I wasn't at fault but being blamed.
  10. So why worry if it has never happened? Wait until it does and then have a moan. As I have already said on the other thread we are getting in for £15 instead of £20 for two matches so the promotion are already losing £5. Neither of the two abandoned matches have been Coventry's fault so I wouldn't quibble about being a couple of pounds out of pocket.
  11. I bet they thought that about Tai as well.
  12. So which matches exactly did you only get to see 10 heats not 30? Just as a matter of interest how much is it at Rye House for a double header?
  13. You're lucky to get a response whether you like the comments or not as I don't know of any other promotion that bothers to correspond with the fans. It's clear to see by the attendances that The Storm's days are sadly numbered and it's a shame because there has been some good racing and it's nice to see the lads improvement, especially Martin Knuckey. Rain putting a stop to things is unfortunate but can't really be helped if the losing team decides they're not going to ride. We pay £15 for two matches (normally £10 each) but have recently twice only seen one and a bit, but both times I can't see how Coventry can be blamed and it's a bit paltry trying to get back what would only amount to a few pounds when things are hard enough as it is.
  14. I know there are critics regarding a match being rushed through to 10 races so the result will stand but this really should have been the case tonight. Just two more races and then we could all pack up and go home, but no Rye House wanted to wait to see if the rain would stop before continuing, no doubt due to the fact they were losing 32-19. Like that was ever going to happen as it just got worse so that's two unfinished Storm matches now.
  15. Is that a word I need to add to my list for future reference? Never heard of it but I like it.
  16. On the subject of riders falling off, although this wasn't on purpose (well hopefully not!) when Hans was leading heat 15 and Coventry were on a 5-1 to get a bonus point, did a big cheer go up from Swindon fans? Not surprised if there was but I know a lot of fans don't like anyone cheering if a rider crashes. Hard not to though when it means your team gets the full amount of points.
  17. Depends how they do it I should think. Isn't it one of the first things new riders have to learn - how to lay the bike down or don't they bother these days?
  18. I'm sorry ~ I seem to have a mental block about Kyle Newman and Howarth. I even printed Newman in my programme and did it for Wednesday's match too. I was having a laugh with my friends tonight and said I hoped I hadn't put Newman on the forum, but looks like I did. I think I'm going to be in someone's bad books. Not to worry. That's made me feel a bit better thanks. Good meeting and heat 15 alone was worth the admission fee. I don't think Hans was the only one cheesed off tonight what on earth was wrong with Swiderski? Three times he pulled up when at the back and rode onto the centre although he was still under power.
  19. Yes the Bees are riding on Wednesday, but how many do you think would be at a Storm meeting the day before? You'd probably be on your own with a dozen or so others as it's bad enough this season trying to get people to attend on a Sunday afternoon never mind a Tuesday night. Swings and Roundabouts ~ sorry you can't go now but it means I can.
  20. Teams:- (Hopefully correct.) Coventry 1] Chris Harris. 2] Kyle Newman. 3] Danny King. 4] Hans Andersen. 5] r/r 6] Jason Garrity. 7] James Sarjeant. Leicester 1] Jason Doyle. 2] Ulrich Ostergaard. 3] Richard Lawson. 4] Piotr Swiderski. 5] Szymon Wozniak. 6] Simon Lambert. 6] Charles Wright.
  21. Yes, get it over with and put us out of our misery in the semi-final. I don't agree with SCB that any of the top four could be champions ~ it's a foregone conclusion already and has been all season. Getting a bit boring now.
  22. Double header still on Friday the 11th? Back from my holiday that day so I should be at both meetings. Sorry bruno as I know what it's like when matches have to be rearranged. I've got to miss the Bees v Lakeside match on Wednesday now.
  23. I just don't understand this situation so perhaps a Swindon fan could explain. It's not as if they are building a new stadium in a different area so why can't they just leave the present track where it is and upgrade anything that needs doing ~ back straight bogs for example, although I've never had the pleasure of using them ~ and build the houses where they plan to put the new track?
