  1. Richard Weston...................I should think the Isle of Wight can be ruled out for a big meeting like this due to all the cost of getting the 32 riders/bikes/mechanics over there. Not sure many fans would make the journey either. For all its faults Coventry is pretty central and has all the facilities necessary. I thought the whole thing went off pretty well really and I wouldn't have gone anywhere else to watch it, except perhaps just up the road to Leicester. Makes sense really to just use the middle bit as the more seats provided ~ and I think Coventry's grandstand holds well over 1,000 ~ extra stewards are needed and more rubbish to pick up afterwards. All credit to Buxton for getting a team together at such short notice. I was quite surprised how bad Coventry were considering it's their home track but it didn't really bother me because I'm more interested in the racing than any particular team.
  2. Sorry but that's a bit of a daft statement. Of course it's got to be based on which track has room in the pits or where are the other riders going to wait with a bike warmed up ready to ride? The semi's were conducted at the same time ~ one from group A then one from group B so that involved all 32 riders. As for the track being slick put some dirt down and they wouldn't be able to ride it.
  3. I wouldn't have thought there would be much money involved with Cycle Speedway. Do they even get travel expenses? I've lost track these days since Leicester dropped out of the top division.
  4. Not sure where you were but it was okay on the back straight, although there did seem to be an echo from the grandstand ones as well which made things interesting. Once we moved to the 4th bend it was fine. Following your bold statement that many other stadiums in the NL could have done a better job today can you give a few names to back it up? Bearing in mind there were 8 teams involved so you need room for 32 riders and bikes. I await your list with interest.
  5. Yes, you're right. Would have been an interesting final race then as they hadn't met each other.
  6. I'm interested to know which ones as I can't recall any really bad decisions? Anyway, I enjoyed this and there seemed to be a decent crowd, with the meeting flowing well until the final when it seemed to get more intense. Well done to Rye House but they were probably a bit lucky in the end as Belle Vue had no rider in heat 6 and Eastbourne's Adam Ellis had engine failure at the start of the final race after previously being unbeaten all afternoon. I understand they ran out of programmes and that's a shame, especially as I probably contributed to that by buying one for a change. Now that's how to do it ~ reasonably priced at £2. Thank you. The dogs enjoyed it and were overcome with excitement. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10155118695812785&set=a.10154153495562785.1073741830.550797784&type=3&theater&notif_t=like&notif_id=1471210976022929
  7. I'm completely chilled at this stage of the season as it's quite nice not to be in the play-offs. We've even not got to worry about picking up the other trophy The Wooden Spoon as I think that's definitely going Leicester's way.
  8. For Wolves or like to be back in the UK next year?
  9. Must admit I'm quite enjoying them this year. It's rather relaxing to just sit back and watch the results with no stress involved.
  10. Subedei aka Lady Luck.....yes very similar in the manner of posting to BWitcher and I have often wondered if they are the same person, but as Lady Luck is alive, well and still living in England whereas BWitcher is in Portugal (I think) I realize they're not.
  11. What's happened to Danyon? Sorry he won't be riding as he is my favourite of all the National League riders this season.
  12. Ding Ding round 10. And we thought all was peace and quiet without Robert72 and Gavan knocking twelve bells out of each other.
  13. Because people are so impatient these days they can't wait for one minute while the post goes through. It's there in front of our eyes that it's 'saving' also the green thing at the top wizzing away but no they have to keep pressing 'Post.' Can't understand all this impatience being such a naturally patient person myself. Because people are so impatient these days they can't wait for one minute while the post goes through. 14. He's still the owner though, just not allowed to promote at the moment. Anyway, good luck with your refund as according to this week's Speedway Star the riders haven't been paid for 5 weeks.
  15. What if your first team loses their track and houses are built on the land? Do you just give up on Speedway or support the nearest one?
  16. That's okay because he's speaking on behalf of Speedybee and he won't mind.
  17. All that is much too sensible so it will never happen.
  18. I hope everyone receives their refund. Unfortunately I think I've inadvertently helped the promoter's funds as I forgot to use the two tickets at the last meeting and I can't even find the 'safe place' I've put them now. Probably in the bin.
  19. Yes, the crowd was bigger than normal for a Sky match but still looks sparse with all the terrace area available at Brandon. I don't agree with using specific areas though as I used to hate Wolverhampton all being squashed in on the home straight. The nice thing about Speedway is that usually you can have a wander round and watch from different places if you wish. Anyway, sitting on the 4th bend near the massive flags, horns and siren we had enough excitement thank you. Kept Lucy awake all evening and I had flash backs to the 1939-1945 war.
  20. Hello. May I introduce myself ~ my name is Pea Brain.
  21. Usually only Swindon, but hopefully things will go well tonight. Fingers crossed for tonight as it was stock cars on Saturday.
  22. Oh I don't know ~ Coventry might help you along tonight, although I've just looked at the two teams and on paper surely this has got to be a Bees win. I don't know what the total of the collection was at Leicester as they haven't said yet but Coventry's was £900 and something I think. I read it somewhere but now can't find it.
