  1. Glad you got your hat back again. Quick wash and it will be as right as rain.
  2. I sometimes wonder why he bothers as 9 times out of 10 questions aren't asked in a polite manner but just negative abuse to the promoters. Against the forum rules but it seems anything goes on here these days. I can't remember if Peter Toogood used to post but he certainly used to mingle with the fans on the terraces at Swindon when he was promoter there. Of the present day ones David Hemsley does quite a bit of mingling at Leicester but in restricted areas at the moment.
  3. Would that be Grace Road or in Beaumont Leys? As the Crow flies I'm probably about 4 miles from the stadium and not one drop of moisture fell apart from very early morning I'm told when I was still in bed. (Thank goodness Liontamer isn't around or that could get a response.)
  4. Let's hope that weather forecast turns out to be correct. Incidentally whilst we're on the subject of this match it just shows how you can't trust anyone official to tell the truth if it's against their interests. In this week's Speedway Star team manager Norrie Allan states 'On Saturday they had the Arsenal match at 5.30pm and we were already looking at a bad weather forecast. I think it would have been off anyway as apparently the weather did turn out to be poor on Saturday.' Well, sod me I must have imagined that the sun was shining all day and no sign of any rain. It was also very windy and that would have done a good job drying the track out if they'd have bothered to go ahead, so I wonder where he got that bit of information from.
  5. But of course it could not be the 'real' Darcy Ward so we are none the wiser. Lives in Poole ~ well he doesn't does he?
  6. I think Bomber must have had the most amount of changes to his pit crew over those 6 years than any other rider. Surely one of them could have sorted him out. I like Chris and it's great being able to see him at Coventry but I think the time has come for him to accept that he's just outclassed in G.P's and bow out gracefully at the end of the season.
  7. Well, at least you've got something in common ~ you're both rubbish at predicting results. Edited to add well done Swindon.
  8. Really? Can't say I've ever noticed you moaning about anything.
  9. They're even worse on the Coventry ones. Always the same handful of people though, most of whom don't even bother to go but still want to have a moan.
  10. Oh brilliant thanks. I thought I'd inadvertently thrown them away and didn't fancy paying another £30 so wasn't going to go to the re-run.
  11. Then you'll have the season ticket holders moaning that they're losing out again. Can't win whatever they do.
  12. Got to agree with you as he even got beaten by Josh Bates at Coventry recently. I don't think he's been riding as well as when he was at Leicester.
  13. It doesn't and I think weatherwatcher is getting a bit mixed up as the matches are still taking place. The Poole one is now on Bank Holiday Monday (postponed due to bad weather forecast!) and the Kings Lynn one (off due to waterlogged track) on September 10th. The away one at Swindon was changed from August 18th to September 1st. Doesn't look like anything too fishy going on regarding matches at Beaumont Park but hopefully the riders pay will be sorted out quickly and the Kings Lynn fans who want a refund will get their money. Incidentally I've now found two tickets but not sure if these were the July ones. Anyone know what letter was on them? These have got H.
  14. Thanks for your reply. The main thing fans object to is being kept in the dark what is going on and allowed to pay admission when there is obviously no chance of the match going ahead. In this case it's even worse because some Kings Lynn fans are having problems getting a refund weeks afterwards. Unlucky for me I think I must have thrown our two tickets away as I can't find them so that's £30 the promotion can have.
  15. So what exactly would you like them to say about the rules that don't allow a facility for KK, Bomber's broken ribs or Bates illness?
  16. Oh gawd! Will one of you just give up so we can have some peace.
  17. Well, every cloud has a silver lining. I don't really mind that we lost now.
  18. Why is a visiting team allowed to dictate how a track is prepared, especially with the track staff knowing what the outcome will be?
  19. What's so funny? It's damn annoying sitting at home knowing I could be at Beaumont Park watching some Speedway. The season is short enough anyway. So why not give that as the reason. Can't stand lies and who's to say there will be a bigger attendance on Bank Holiday Monday when people might have already made other plans? I know of two people already who can't go. Really? Very strange that when I only live a mile away. Must have been right over the stadium which means absolutely nothing unless it was at Beaumont Park, which it wasn't.
  20. So this match was called off yesterday morning due to the 'terrible weather forecast' and while I should now be making my way there I'm sat at home looking out of the window at blue skies and sunshine. It's been the same all day too but VERY windy, which should have helped to dry the track out from yesterday morning's rain. Surely it would have been better to make a decision on the actual day of the match whether to go ahead or not as it wasn't due to start until 8pm anyway?
  21. Yes, that's the problem ~ that nobody cares any more. Pay for a Speedway match, don't see one but have difficulty getting a refund. Nice attitude to have. Saturday September 10th 7.30pm.
  22. I'm more interested in the other E.L. track as having to miss Coventry last night I would have liked my Speedway fix tonight. So far today it's been sunny and very windy so perfect drying conditions but the match was called off early yesterday morning. Mind you it will probably get the promotion in Poole's good books.
  23. I'm sure it would and look what's happened at Belle Vue trying to get their meeting on.
  24. I won't be leaving until 7pm so I'll have an even better idea whether it's worth going or not. I'm sure Shale Searcher or Weatherwatcher will keep you up to date but if not I'll stick my head out of the window and let you know what's happening.
