  1. I can't really understand this because loads of matches are completed without the use of the 'double points' anyway.
  2. And some actually can't stand for getting on for 2 hours or more so don't give them any ideas! I'm quite happy to pay £1 to park but wouldn't be so keen on paying extra to sit down as it is a massive stand holding 2,000 I believe? At 'normal' matches most people go in the stand and very little on the back straight as it's usually bloody freezing. We've already paid our admission fee so shouldn't be expected to pay anything extra. Agree, although it's not just new comers. Who did know what was going on 'cos I certainly didn't? Knowing the start had already been delayed and some fans were anxious to get away to Wolverhampton why was there such a big gap between heats 14 and 15? I've read on here they couldn't get a 2nd Coventry rider but surely that's not right.
  3. Thank you. I had looked at the Panthers website and the updates without success. I did actually buy a programme for once as I wanted to keep it ~ one more bit of rubbish my daughter will throw away when I kick the bucket ~ but also printed a blank one for my husband. Agree. £1 to park at Peterborough is very reasonable considering how good it is, but when they use that bumpy field and you have to walk miles to get to the stadium it should be free. Leicester only have two kiosks but if there is a big queue someone goes along the line saying if people have the right money they can pay at the gate.
  4. Don't bother. Have to have a little fun sometimes.
  5. We got there about 10.15am and went in just after 11am. Like you say there were 2 ladies working but another box/window there which I presumed was for season ticket holders? Hopefully they used this after the queues started getting bigger. Regarding programmes I was actually pleased they were sold at the same time so I didn't have to queue up somewhere else to get one. Must admit delaying the start was a bit irritating as we'd got there early enough travelling from Leicester and then wonder why others can't do the same, but this was an exceptionally big crowd so I can understand now that they probably did but there just weren't enough turnstiles open to cope. Mine too. I stopped buying programmes long ago because they just get chucked in the bin afterwards and the money I save goes towards my petrol getting to the meeting. I usually print my own if I can find out the team order, which is usually hard because promoters go out of their way to make it difficult .. I actually bought one yesterday but then had to write all the names in the one I'd printed for my husband. Oh well it gave me something to do after the start time was delayed.
  6. Obviously as a Poole fan whose only interest is winning you wouldn't understand that the score didn't matter to Panthers or Bees fans. Isn't it a Buildbase coat?
  7. I think we already know don't we? Hard to get a team on a track devoid of any fencing, lights, shale and electrics. Perhaps it might be better directing this question at Avtar Sandhu.
  8. Have they got rid of the Fox now?
  9. I've heard of that one but not being full of the joys of it.
  10. Is that a new saying? Not heard it before but perhaps it's Irish being St. Patrick's Day and all that.
  11. Supermarket petrol is for me though. Is there a shortage or something because I went to ASDA this morning to get some and the queue to get in was right up the road so I gave up. Since having on-line shopping and not using the car very much for the last few months after breaking my hip I haven't bought any petrol for ages but the Speedway season is starting now which changes things. Peterborough (hopefully) on Sunday so I'll have to try again.
  12. Don't feel sorry for me ~ I've never watched it. My problem is yellow/black or red/yellow.
  13. Not too much I wouldn't think. Leicester have often ridden on GP nights and fans just record it to watch later. Also Coventry supporters will be eager to see their team ride anywhere this season so there should be a good number there. More of a problem is who do I support and which scarf to wear.
  14. Whilst I sort of agree, this meeting is different to the others as it was arranged with the Coventry promoters and Bjerre was part of the 1-7 for the 2017 season.
  15. For the sake of my blood pressure I'm going to put starman on ignore now because he's so bloody irritating. I really can't stand stupid people.
  16. Lots of interest in this which is good to know so just need the weather to behave next Sunday now.
  17. Coventry have a pile of the stuff on their centre that doesn't stand much chance of being used this year. Don't think it really matters as when the track was built I can't remember any riders criticizing it after having a ride around. Cheeky sod.
  18. He's Welsh you know. Over the years I've learned that what you have to do with SCB posts is add a few words where appropriate or change a few around then it all makes perfect sense.......mostly. Agree but I think the fact Ipswich have first priority has made things a bit more tricky.
  19. You might not have been anywhere because you've been selecting which posts you like but you've definitely not been posting yourself for a while. I thought you might have come back a bit more chilled but obviously not. Actually I don't know what he's referring to so perhaps you can jog my memory because I don't have Sky. Presumably the circumstances were similar to the Coventry v Poole match? I'll say just Poole Speedway if it will annoy starman. Not been to Poole for a few years but it didn't seem too bad. Loads of motorbikes on the quay one evening ~ Tuesday? Nice boat trips on the Solent Scene. Err......Old Harry Rocks, Sandbanks, Brownsea Island, Poole Pottery. Is that still there?
  20. OY! You were doing okay until that bit. I've supported the Bees for over 30 years but I live in Leicester and there are many others who don't actually have a Coventry address.
  21. Well, at least it will please starman. I hate Poole myself, although Dorset is nice. I am very aware of that and the fact he always picks up on anything mentioning Poole that might not be 100% favourable. As far as I can see HC was commenting on track inspections/rain/Sky and that particular match involved Poole and Belle Vue. Another one that springs to my mind was at Coventry with Sky present again, rain.......oh and Poole of course. Luckily I was on holiday so missed it all.
  22. Oh gawd he's back and still with a chip on his shoulder. No-one mention Poole in any comments unless they are full of praise.
