  1. Its going to be a long afternoon. Only had 4 races so far and ambulance now on track for Tobias Busch. Hope he's okay. Re-run number 4 coming up soon. With all these delays and the youngsters riding in the second half hopefully there won't be an interval.
  2. Not the only one treated poorly by the club. Like him or hate him there is a big Chris Popple gap in the presentation which has gone downhill since last season and it's sad not to see the smiley face of Danielle at the gate. It's nice to be able to use the buggy to get up the hill as it's a long walk from the shopping centre but even that was struggling last night and almost at a standstill. It actually stopped altogether at one point and someone got off and helped push it, which is not really the point of it as if we use it then like me we probably have mobility problems. Surely knowing its going to be used regularly backwards and forwards on a Saturday night the batteries could have been fully charged up beforehand.
  3. Not that Polish taxi driver again? Seem to be different caterers this year judging by the chips I saw? I used to regularly buy them last season and they were more like french fries and really nice. The new ones are great chunky things and cost £1 more. The two little boys next to me left most of theirs so they probably taste as horrible as they look.
  4. Must be lovely to travel to a match knowing there is no chance of it being off due to dodgy weather and wondering whether to risk it or not. Did you happen to see the man with the tame Squirrel in Bakewell that sits on his shoulder?
  5. Presume it's the same person who answers the phone so I will definitely 2nd or 3rd that. I telephoned to renew my subscription on a Wednesday a few weeks ago, as I had stopped for the Winter, and I wanted to start with the previous weeks issue. All done very quickly and pleasantly and both copies arrived the next day.
  6. You can probably buy something from the chemist to remove them.
  7. Without checking the double up riders fixture lists would that help? Personally I still think Saturday nights are best for getting bigger attendances and encouraging away/neutral fans to attend as Friday traffic is usually horrendous. That's the reason I won't be going to Peterborough this season, other than their Sunday matches, as I have to get from one side of Leicester to the other to pick up the A47.
  8. I like the 'we' bit. Have you converted already? I live in Leicester but I think it's going to take me a few weeks to get used to being a Lions fan again after supporting the Bees for so long. I'll have to dig out my old 1970's scarf and see if that will help.
  9. We won't go back again which is a shame as Kings Lynn is one of the few tracks left that allow dogs. The last meeting we went to didn't even start until 8.10pm due to the low sun and although there was this yellow thing in the sky delaying the start there was a bitterly cold wind. I can't remember the exact details now but I think it was heat 11 when Puk had both Coventry riders off on the first bend so there was another lengthy delay while they went back to the pits to sort their machinery out. The sensible thing to do would be to use that time as the interval but no they had it after the race was over. Add all the tractor laps and it was a long night standing around. Yes, but what is 'back to normal'? Judging by our experience umpteen laps by the tractor, sun breaks and seemingly no rush between races to get on with things.
  10. Weird decision not to use Bates and I agree Leicester should have won tonight. I was following this on updates and thought they'd got it in the bag.
  11. Some good points Hawk127 but unfortunately a lot of the stadiums are rented and the car park money goes to the owner not the Speedway promoters so they can't decide on the price.
  12. You must have a very rough postman as I've never had any of these problems.
  13. Afraid so and the best thing to do is stick him on ignore now because believe me he will drive you mad if you don't....... unless you have a great deal of patience which unfortunately I don't.
  14. Usually Sue will come on a thread and ask but here is the updates site and it doesn't look like they have anyone yet. http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/
  15. I don't think he did ~ I didn't see him anyway. The Swindon fans I was with enjoyed it and were happy to be taking away a bonus point.
  16. I'm okay then ~ the top speed of mine is about 4mph. Just keep out of my way.
  17. Yes, it was worth the long walk and I'll have to get used to it because I'll be a regular now, as I was last season after they allowed dogs. Good crowd and good racing, which will only improve as the track beds in and the riders get used to it. They really need to get more booths open to pay though as two is not enough. I can remember last season when there was a big queue someone used to come along the line and tell you if you had the correct money you could pay at the gate. Perhaps they are short of volunteers now? I miss Danielle on the gate. Yes. There was an improvement in the racing last season after bends 3/4 were altered so I fully expect it to be even better now 1 and 2 have been sorted out, once the track beds in of course. Well, we stood with three of them all night on the 4th bend so add them to the total. That's what is so nice about Speedway ~ rival fans can stand together and enjoy the racing win or lose. Have known these Swindon fans for many years and we always stand together (Coventry and Leicester) when the Robins are in town.
  18. If you look at this thread there are quite a few disgruntled fans. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=83786
  19. Yes I did ~ I borrowed the stewards at the gate while I waited for Ray to pay as he was ages. Well, no one was sitting in it so why not. Next time I must remember to keep our seats with me rather than letting them disappear with Ray in the queue as I was shattered. It's quite a long walk from the shopping centre and I discovered I'm not very fit yet.
  20. Very brief shower about 4.30pm but blue sky now so all systems go.
  21. Who knows. Perhaps the promotion will confirm everything is okay tomorrow or BTFC LION will nip in again and let us know all the heavy machinery has gone.
  22. Yes I know. Unless things have changed dogs are allowed. If they're not they won't see me there this season, with the exception of the Coventry match of course.
