  1. Sadly that was very true for Coventry N.L. matches, especially the last two seasons when I should think the attendance was less than 300. Hopefully next Saturday there will be a lot of visiting Bees fans ~ I know many of my friends are intending to go. Not sure what riders will be in the team though being as half of the original ones are now riding for the Lions.
  2. Me too. I have pretty much zero interest in individual racing, including the G.P's. It's got to be team events for me even if I'm watching as a neutral.
  3. That's bad. I'd say the normal attendance is around the 1200/1500 mark but then it wasn't a 'proper' Lions Premiership match. I didn't go either.
  4. Thank you but where do you think I'll be next Saturday Steve? Other plans I'm afraid and I'll only have to go up the road instead of 40 odd miles.
  5. Hopefully this is just a one off for Sunday matches? I know there are other fans who think differently but personally having a pretty horrible journey over from Leicester, and driving at the moment being rather uncomfortable anyway, I much prefer a 5pm start time so I'm not driving back in the dark. I think late afternoon rather than evening meetings also encourage casual fans (like me) to attend.
  6. You would understand why I hate the journey to Peterborough then and that's only half way to Kings Lynn. It's even worse because I have to get across one side of Leicester to the other before picking up the dreaded A47.
  7. Glad you didn't sit with us when Kath, Graham and I used to do 'Predictaheat' as you would have wiped the floor with us.
  8. I don't have Sky now but when I used to watch the G.P's and they'd come up with the statistics on the gate positions I know it used to slightly irritate me to state that gate 3 (for instance) had the most first places when in fact there had been some great on track battles and although their statistics may say there were more wins from gate 3 it wasn't necessarily the case that the rider starting from that gate actually won the race. At least you seem to be understanding where I'm coming from so thanks for the reply.
  9. And Facebook. Good decision to get out while he's still in one piece and I wish him all the best for whatever his plans are for the future.
  10. As someone who is not at all technically minded I've never really understood this because surely the results can be false owing to the fact that not all races are won from the gate (thank goodness!). So if you have the rider in gate 1 winning 9 out of the 15 races your records presumably indicate that this is the best gate on the night but he may not necessarily have lead from start to finish and could have beaten the rider in first place on the last lap. Hope you can understand my logic as I'm not very good at explaining things, especially when I don't know what I'm talking about.
  11. They'll probably be another one when Shads gets up there.
  12. I don't think anyone has said you do but if you want to call someone an idiot who hasn't got a clue then surely before you write that on a public forum you should think beforehand whether it's factually correct or not. As to one big league there's nothing I would like more either but where are all the riders going to come from if they already need to double up between 2 leagues now because there aren't enough.
  13. I'm still trying to work out who the hell Bill Bixby is 'cos I've never heard of him.
  14. Still a poor show considering what the match was all about and the hundreds of Bees fans who had made the journey. I don't think anyone is moaning about 5 minutes but it's often much longer than that. Steve Shovlar at Leicester last season when Poole had no chance of winning? To be serious though I don't blame him considering the journey ahead and how busy the car park is. Steve Shovlar at the Poole v Coventry final in 2010 when Poole had no chance of winning? I think he may have left well before heat 15 but again I don't blame him as he had a plane to catch to Rome.
  15. Quick grade? At the Peterborough v Ipswich match I'm sure they got the blade out as well between heats 14 and 15.
  16. I thought he couldn't make it pay without the Stock Cars running as well and as Brandon Estates don't want Sandhu anywhere near the place that might be a bit difficult.
  17. Yes, he even wore a T-Shirt a few years ago with the words 'I Was Wrong' on the front. I can't remember now what he was wrong about though.
  18. .......Can't stand people who say things they can't back up, especially when they're being downright rude, as I've been brought up to be conscientous.
  19. Which was my whole point as I can't stand injustices ~ you've very rarely been to any matches for at least 2 years and haven't been this season so why the rude comments. The idiot who now sits on the tractor has not got a clue and he never will have. Where do they get them from. How do you know he hasn't a clue if you've never seen him? I think you'll find he is an experienced track curator but probably having to deal with a difficult situation at the moment regarding the shale available and alterations to bends 1/2 which will take time to bed in.
  20. I'd like to know why Coventry only had one rider in heat 15 of the Peterborough match after hanging around for ages.
  21. Hope Leicester are first in the queue then being as it's a Leicester quarry.
