Poole Pirates Vs Leicester Lions 21/6/17
Gemini replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well, he rode tonight and scored 8 points if my programme is correct so he should be okay. Won't really make much difference though as Poole will easily win. -
That will be interesting considering 4 of the ex Bees now ride for Leicester. I wonder what riders Coventry will use.
-
Because the cut off date for the play-offs is the first week apparently. Also Colin Pratt was asked to do the fixture list with as many matches as possible during the school holidays. I still reckon SCB would do a better job.

Leicester Lions V Belle Vue Aces 17 Jun 2017
Gemini replied to Robbobee's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Prescisely! How about keeping us 'old' fans rather than trying to attract new ones who will probably attend one meeting to see what it's all about and then not bother again. By 'old' I don't mean in age before SCB jumps on me and starts quoting anoraks, garden chairs, flasks and cucumber sandwiches etc. Since Coventry closed I'm finding it hard to keep my interest which is sad because I've been a fan for around 68 years but I'm fed up with not being able to see the teams that were signed at the beginning of the season, just a few originals backed up with a selection of different guests. I never thought I would voluntarily miss a match but I didn't bother going to the Lions v Somerset one last week and am now wondering whether to make the effort to go to this one. -
Looking at the updates site Wolves were only 5 up after heat 12 so in reality the result could have gone either way but they piled on the pressure in 13, 14 and 15 getting two 5-1's and a 4-2 which made the scoreline pretty huge in the end. Would Garrity have made any difference or not? The jury is out on that one.

And neither apparently can you. The pair of you are like two year olds so the only solution is to put you both on ignore as you are obviously going to carry on with the stupid pointless arguments. No wonder this forum has lost some decent posters over the years as they've got fed up with all the inane drivel.
-
Yes! That way the rest of us might be able to read the thread/s without having to trawl through all the twaddle. As you seem to get into more arguments than most on here give us all a break and don't bother replying. We can make our own minds up who is deliberately trying to get a response from you so if you don't reply they'll give up.

Don't understand Rugby and can't watch the GP so just as well I am not interested. Lol. Having been on holiday I've got loads of programmes to catch up on so I'm happy. Looks like they have won so well done Lions.
-
Looks like it as the last time the website was updated was a week ago. No excuse for it with the technology available these days, but perhaps the promoters just want fans to turn up and find out when they get there. Too cold and windy for me so I'm stopping at home.
-
Always quite a lot of children and younger people at Leicester. Mind you I don't know how long this is going to last if the Lions don't start winning soon.
-
How do you know they're not? I think Neil Watson might have a better idea what is happening and he's said your comments about the Coventry asset situation are incorrect.

Leicester V Rye House 29.05.17
Gemini replied to Barrow Boy 2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Just to make it clear I 'liked' his post because I live in Leicester and agreed with 80% of what he said but certainly not that bit. I think we all know his views now and I'm rather hoping if there is actually reincarnation that he comes back as a Black Australian. -
I'm not at all bothered by any of the things you mention but I would hate for UK Speedway to be as partisan as it is in Poland. Now I've lost the team I supported for over 30 years I'm sort of neutral until I get into the habit of being a Lions fan again and I know whichever team a person supports they are always willing to have a friendly chat. I'd like to bet home and away fans aren't like that in Poland. The only really unpleasant thing that's happened over all my time of visiting different tracks was at Newport, prior to a GP several years ago, when a group of Poles sitting at the back of us kept spilling beer everywhere and we ended up stinking of the stuff, even the poor dog got soaked, so we had to move somewhere else. So thanks but I prefer dull as dishwater to over exuberance, especially if it's fueled by alcohol.
-
Each to their own. I wouldn't want to be caged in like an animal and I'd hate Speedway in the UK to be as partisan as this. I know I can stand next to visiting fans and have a nice friendly chat throughout a match so Polish style doesn't impress me one bit I'm afraid but I know there are others who would love it. Just not for me. I wouldn't go anymore.

Leicester V Poole Sat 3/6/17
Gemini replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I guess Poole are going to easily win and I'm quite relieved I'm going to have to miss it. -
Didn't Todd have a falling out with one of the team? Seem to remember some hassle but can't recall who the other rider was.
-
Blimey! Even I can remember one of those and not many Speedway things stick in my memory. Just toddling round at the back in all of his heats....I won't say all of his races because heats is the best way to describe his efforts as he certainly didn't race.
-
It's confusing because gustix obviously removed/hid all of his posts, although you can still see some of the quotes. I wouldn't bother trying to make sense of it though.
-
I've got him on ignore so can't give any recent examples and I'm not trawling through the archives because I'd only get irritated and that's not a good idea just before bedtime. That's life ~ some people on here find that Gavan, Steve Shovlar or Stevebrum annoy them (to give 3 examples of others who sometimes get hostile replies) but others don't. Those that receive hostile responses often attract them and are quite capable of giving as good as they get. Like I said ~ stick around and see how things go. I'm sure you've got a higher tolerance level than me as I have to watch my blood pressure.
-
Stick around and read his posts and you'll no doubt eventually realise why he gets these hostile responses.
-
Thank you for listing them. Looking at some of the riders mentioned I'm not surprised now that they came bottom of the league. As to the Cougars are any of them still riding? Well, apart from Ben Barker who obviously is because even I know that. Ben Powell rings a bell too because I seem to remember him aiming his bike at another rider after a race and he got the sack. I don't think he rode again over here.
-
No idea who was in the team but 2004 was pretty bad to be a Coventry fan as both the E.L. and N.L. teams came bottom of their respective leagues. Strangely enough I really enjoyed that season as the racing has always been more important to me than having a team where it's a foregone conclusion they will win every week.
-
No he doesn't. Makes a refreshing change for someone to actually answer a query rather than just disappearing like some on here do.
-
I don't think you'll get an answer to that question somehow.
-
I've always thought this but it doesn't seem to be too important for some fans judging by replies I've had in the past. Does to me though and it used to irritate me at Coventry when certain riders used to win a race and then go straight back to the pits. Money earned and that's it ~ no interaction with the fans at all. Well, sorry but it's all part of the match to me and I'd like to feel they are pleased to have won the race for their team and appreciate the fans. At least at Leicester the winning rider gets a flag shoved into his hand and does a victory lap so it all adds to the 'feel good' factor.
