  1. Had you missed naming one of the streets on your map after him then?
  2. Thanks. I wish I hadn't asked now.
  3. That would be me but unfortunately for Andrew I'm still here.....at the moment.......and he's not.
  4. Afraid I can't see that happening especially as people are anti Greyhound Racing these days and Speedway is in decline. I think Mr Sandhu held a car boot sale in Tsunami year 2004 ? and there were about half a dozen people there. Don't they have regular ones a bit further down the road?
  5. Just wondered because it has been empty for years. I'm surprised there has been no interest in buying the land to build houses or perhaps it has to remain as a garden centre?
  6. Has the garden centre been redeveloped yet?
  7. There were loads in ASDA. No toilet rolls but plenty of Crumpets.
  8. How are you supposed to get weekly groceries then if not going to the supermarket? I certainly don't want to but ASDA have stopped online shopping that I have been using for over three years.
  9. Carrying on as usual. Following my husband around to see what he's getting up to now. Getting rid of all the people in the house that he can see but I can't. Picking up the dead Cat in the garage and disposing of it again (for about the 10th time) feeding the Chickens in the garden that we don't have, also all the Cats and Dogs . Actually I think now would be an ideal time to get another dog and he wouldn't really notice but unfortunately I'm a bit too old so I've got to just make do with Lucy. Highlight of my day is taking her out for a walk across our local nature reserve for a couple of hours so I can relax, listen to the birds singing and take photos. Take that away and I will go mad, although I'm probably half way there already.
  10. Ah thank you very much Arnie. I thought it was a team that began with 'M' but that's as far as my brain cells responded. I remember it being pretty boring watching the Long Eaton riders score 5-0 in every race. What was the reason Mildenhall refused to race?
  11. Apologies. Perhaps Newcastle then? Was a long time ago and I can't remember. I can't even spell Middlesbrough correctly ~ probably all those Honda 70 journeys through Loughborough on the way to Station Road.
  12. The only ones I recognised were Mike Broadbank, Colin Pratt, Bert Harkins, Garry Stead and possibly Ronnie Correy.
  13. Surely a better option would be a dose of Flea treatment?
  14. The one at Leicester holds 3. One in the front next to the driver and 2 at the back facing backwards. It takes you the last bit from the stadium car park but that only holds around 230 cars so it's usually full an hour before the start and the majority of people are in the shopping centre car park so it's still quite a walk to even get to the buggy. Personally I didn't find it very helpful as there is a big step up and it wasn't easy getting on and off with a bag, fold up seat and crutch so I'd usually end up walking. In the end the only option was to give up altogether so I missed the last couple of months and I've accepted that attending Speedway matches isn't possible now. Just one of the many joys of getting old.
  15. The ones sticking up for Greyhound Racing have suddenly gone rather quiet when faced with some facts rather than some glossed up fiction they'd rather believe about how well the dogs are treated.
  16. I suppose they make up the photos as well?
  17. It does seem sad what is happening at Peterborough as I always loved going there. Perhaps just as well I doubt if I will be able to make the trip again.
  18. The bends have already been altered so I shouldn't think anything else can be done, apart from what is happening ~ repairing certain areas of the track.
  19. I absolutely hate the idea of animals being killed so humans can eat their bodies, especially the way some of them are killed but there you go that's the human race for you. The majority of problems in the World are caused by them, but I suppose that's a different subject so we'll just have to agree to disagree on Greyhound Racing.
  20. It's not lost on me but I don't consider being stuck in kennels, when not racing, is a good life for a dog. It would be like a dog permanently waiting for a home all its life at the RSPCA. Being as you know many trainers I presume you can confirm their dog lives with them indoors at home, gets taken for a daily walk and are not kept in kennels until their next race? Yeah right. As to the dogs at Swindon not being bred in the first place that sounds like a damn good idea.
  21. Really? Now I wonder what would be best ~ never being born or having to race? Greyhounds are not born that way they are trained by humans with money in mind as usual. No good and they are discarded or sent to China to breed yet more of them, or eaten. They are beautiful laid back dogs until trained differently. It's like saying all Border Collies are born to be working Sheep and live outdoors on a farm. No farms = no Border Collies. Perhaps you should take a look at the link below or look at CAGED Nationwide on Facebook. There are plenty of examples of how cruelly most of them are treated so would have been much better off never having been born. https://metro.co.uk/2020/01/09/dog-breeder-let-three-greyhounds-starve-death-stuffed-one-freezer-12030888/?fbclid=IwAR3uCBdXviz4CnWQz2aIkybsv02v0KX66_RShXm7MC2C5sSGHYf13YNnVo4
  22. Wish there was a 'shocked' emoji to respond to a post. 55 is very young. RIP Roman.
  23. Stupid idea to hold it at Leicester for all the reasons False dawn said earlier. Even if the meeting ran smoothly you'd be hard pushed to walk back to the shopping centre and actually drive your car out of the centre within 4 hours, bearing in mind there will be a massive queue.
  24. I don't think you will get an answer to that.
