  1. To be honest I'm not often following anyone as I drive so fast I'm usually leading the way. I always obey the 30/40/50mph limits though.
  2. Love that. I'm going to try it next time I'm on the way to Peterborough where there is a 50mph speed camera on the A47 at the top of the hill, just after everyone has gone mad to overtake slower traffic on the 'Crawler Lane' dual carriageway.
  3. I just love everything about Peterborough and that includes the loud music and the announcer. Sorry.
  4. True and I'm not saying I agree with the decision but I'd like to bet Nick Morris is cheaper than Jason Doyle, especially now he is World Champion.
  5. Peter York used to be really annoying doing this at Coventry but I think the management stopped him eventually thank goodness. Who is the announcer at Peterborough? I like him, also David Hammond at Brandon. I'm just amazed that you have been to every single track to be able to state that.
  6. I'm not interested in statistics as they're much too confusing for me so I don't comment about them on here, but I do know if I'm anywhere near False dawn at a Speedway meeting he will know exactly which gate positions have been the best all night. It's just easier to ask him than try to understand things myself.
  7. I must have felt differently years ago because I used to go to the Laurels and Internationale at Wimbledon, the BLRC at Hyde Road Belle Vue, Brandonapolis at Coventry and Golden Gauntlets at Leicester etc., but they just don't interest me any more as I much prefer team racing these days.
  8. Well, Swindon have probably reduced their costs for a start by not signing Jason Doyle.
  9. Unfortunately not by me. Surely I'm not the only one who isn't really interested in Individual Meetings?
  10. Gone up a bit now. 59 ~ Yes...........246 ~ No. At 01.38 am.
  11. If it's that easy why didn't the Storm finish their matches last year when Mick Horton was in charge?
  12. Starman won't get that. Even Steve Shovlar is confused....or pretending to be confused so what chance Starman.
  13. Poor Greg. 59? He's a Gemini ~ young at heart. Still won't be riding for Leicester though.
  14. If Coventry join the Championship and ride on Saturday's as Bananaman has suggested then I'd be a bit more hopeful of it being a success but I very much doubt National League will work out even if it's the only team they have. The attendances at Coventry were woeful so people are hardly going to travel over to Leicester.
  15. As well as the Lions? If so I can't see this working.
  16. Would be nice but I suppose it's too big a job for Steve to name them all. Unfortunately I'll have to remain ignorant as I only recognise about 10. Barry Briggs for one doesn't change much at all thank goodness.
  17. I'm presuming he means Leicester City Football not Speedway. No but they could break their back if they flip over. Saw this happen at Leicester but at the old Blackbird Road track years ago when they did have concrete.
  18. Wasn't that a bit of a problem if a race was stopped?
  19. Much missed. I remember speaking to her for the first time in the car park at Oxford because I was interested that she was carrying a Hackney Hawks bag. Lovely lady.
  20. Can't help thinking that Cheetahhawk would have loved this book as I know Barry Thomas was one of her favourite riders.
  21. Not to worry as I'm sure he could soon get himself a medical certificate over here to prove he was sick......although perhaps the Poles aren't so gulible as our lot.
  22. Wish I did. My Speedway attendance started way back in 1949 when I was taken to the old stadium as a nine year old. Sadly my memory for retaining anything Speedway related is awful and there are only a few things I can remember. The bad crashes involving Colin Cook and Mike Lanham at Blackbird Road and the one at Belle Vue featuring Mick McKeon and Mike Lohmann. Seem to recall the matches between Leicester and Coventry being pretty intense and me not liking Ole Olsen but that's about it.
