  1. Well all I can say is I'm glad I kept Pawprint away from some of you who were so keen on Hot Dogs. ;-) After a very hectic day walking in the park and round the town, then playing with a ball on the Castle grass, she was a very hot dog indeed. She did however spend the evening in a nice cool hotel room resting her weary paws.
  2. Told you I only had a problem with certain words beginning with F or C. It's not very nice to call someone a "sad little man" or a "drunken painter" (amongst other things) on the forum either. JB had apologised for his behaviour and I just thought he was being blamed for everything when other people had contributed as well. Just my misguided sense of fair play. Don't worry - it won't happen again.
  3. Mmmmm...I thought as much but I didn't think Krissie would have such a Blonde moment as that.
  4. Beautiful building that was and now gone the same way as a lot of beautiful buildings in Leicester. :-( Krissie Is Nigel living over here again now?
  5. Reminds me of that story by Hans Christian Andersen "The Emperors New Clothes". Can you see something I can't Lt?
  6. Oy!! That's not fair. Actually that posting was quite a masterpiece from J.J. and very funny, but then I probably have a warped sense of humour. Think you need it on here sometimes. I agree with JB though - he shouldn't take all the blame. Admittedly he has posted things he shouldn't but others have been just as outspoken. (No names, no pack drill.) ;-) Perhaps we should have a thread called the Sin Bin listing members with a Yellow (1st offence) or Red Card (2nd offence) so we all know who they are, rather than just the mods. Calling someone an arrogant sod doesn't count though does it?
  7. That probably explains why we keep seeing views of an empty bit of track when the cameraman misses the action. :?
  8. Indeed and not for the better either. Guess that makes me equally old fashioned. Sorry but I hate to hear f...this and f...that all the time and I do find it offensive. I think it's sad that so many youngsters today seem to use it as part of every sentence they speak. I am not anti swearing altogether - just certain words. I watched Bend it like Beckham the other day and thought it was hilarious, swear words and all, but if the film had been full of f...swearing I wouldn't have bothered watching it. Know what I mean 'arry?
  9. I have just started to take medication for high blood pressure so I guess I had better be on the alert for any bolshy behaviour on my part as well. Perhaps I had better take up watching Crossroads or something.
  10. Does that include the "miracle wheel" or whatever it's called? I believe Arena have one as well as Coventry.
  11. Yes, I agree with that. Crumpy's temperament is very much like Tomasz Gollob and I don't think either of them will ever be World Champion.
  12. No need to disappear Jim as you will be missed on the forum. Perhaps just count to ten when you feel angry about something and think twice before pressing the submit button, which is what I should have done when I called Steve Shovlar an "arrogant sod" the other day. .. Luckily because he often dishes it out he can take it as well, which is not always the case. Glad he's got a sense of humour!
  13. Can you explain my jokey reply to his post about the Phonics album now please? It seemed to go over his head. "Does it involve a lot of shouting? Don't think I'd like it."
  14. Can you be quiet when you are making your way back then Falcace. We are at The Town House in Cathedral Road. .. ..
  15. If you want to get anywhere near the stadium you had best arrive at the crack of dawn. I'm sure others will be able to make some suggestions, but we ended up about a mile out of Cardiff at the park 'n' ride towards Cardiff Bay in 2001. Plenty of parking spaces up that way, but it's a good walk. Depends if you are going to be sober at the end of the Grand Prix.
  16. Man of few words then, unlike a typical Gemini who tends to go on a bit.
  17. Congratulations to Ove Fundin on reaching his 70th birthday today. He's not putting his feet up either as he has been walking from his home in the South of France through Belgium, Germany, and Denmark to reach Transas - hopefully in time to celebrate his birthday. What a man! The most vivid memories I have of Ove are of a determined racer who was most upset if he lost a race. Seemed a bit of a loner and not very well liked by the fans. I remember seeing him sitting all alone in the pits at Leicester in the 1950's getting some abuse from the Leicester fans and being a typical emotional teenager I felt really sorry for him. I wrote him a letter via The Firs at Norwich and a couple of weeks later was surprised to get a personal reply from him all the way from Malmo. I still have this letter. Any more memories?
  18. Yipee....Someone who goes back as far as me. Johnny (?) Beaumont was actually Les. Bet you remember now. Others from the Hunters - Vic Pitcher, Len Williams, Jock Grierson, Jack Winstanley, Johnnie Carpenter, Joe Bowkis, Charlie Barsby, Cyril Page, Jack Mountford, Roy Bester, Dennis Parker, Gordon McGregor, Ron Phillips, Johnnie Green, Alf Hagon, Harry Bastable, Bryan Elliott and not forgetting the most successful of the lot Ken McKinlay (whilst they were called the Hunters.) There were of course many, many others. Oooh! I am coming over all nostalgic. Thanks for that.
  19. Oh. dear! Got to agree with two people and I usually only reserve this statement for Beowulf. (Incidentally where is he these days?) Wes lake..... Fully agree with what you said. I don't know why people do so much moaning about the man-made tracks. They are not that bad and usually produce a decent amount of racing, even if sometimes it's by riders making mistakes or hitting bumps/ruts. I've seen a lot of boring one off World Finals over the years. Lupus....Also agree with you. In fact I did criticize the fact Mark was given 5 points in an earlier posting knowing that I would probably upset the Loram lovers. Thank goodness Loramski Legends is not around. Addict I can deal with...... ..
  20. Not us - we were safely tucked up in our hotel bed by then.
  21. He's a Gemini - say no more! Young at heart. I read about this in the Speedway Star last week I think (can't find it now!) He is planning on arriving on his 70th birthday.
  22. Don't know about this but if it was the season Leicester had the same seven riders it was 1969. You mention Ray Wilson, Johnny Boulger, Graham Plant and Norman Storer so it must have been somewhere around then. The other riders were John Hart, Malc. Brown and Dewaye Keeter. I'm sure someone else with a better memory will come up with the answer. Welcome to the forum, by the way.
  23. I feel a bit out of place on here because I was hoping some of you were "oldies" like me. Unfortunately I can remember Norway's Sverre Harrfeldt. His best performance in a World Final was coming 2nd in 1966. That's my lot, but I'm sure Norbold will be able to add some more.
