I was bored witless this morning if that counts! Did you get to see the usual 3 hours on Extra? Luckily we on NTL only had to put up with two. I counted four good races out of the 25 - heats 6, 9, 15 and 21. I was shocked to see Crumpie push his Grandad away when he gave him a comforting pat on the back. What a complete and utter spoilt brat he is. If my Grandson did that to me I would give him a clip round the ear!

Interesting post, but a few flaws I think. To answer the point above - where do you think we are going to find ten riders per team who would be willing to just ride in England once a fortnight and not ride for any other team abroad? Speak for yourself! Why should we all be reduced to a meeting every two weeks because some can't afford to take all the family? Afraid that won't work due to some tracks not wishing to be promoted for various reasons - but mostly the expense of being in a higher league. Agree with that statement. Must say that since new owners have taken over at Brandon they are concentrating on doing just that and are doing a brilliant job. Not thinking of anyone in particular here are you?

Will Sky Show Grand Prix next week.

And perhaps now it would be nice if all those who contacted Sky would write again saying thanks for changing their schedules to fit the Speedway in. -
Ahem!! Will I do? ... July 26th.....Gemini..... following on from another batch of tune titles (no music this time) provided by your goodself. Shame this thread has finished as it was good fun. Mind you Summit still thinks this was the Coventry signature tune and not Leicester, unless they both used the same one :?: ..

That's good news for anyone with Sky, but as an NTL subscriber I won't be able to watch this. :-( Anyone know if it will be repeated on SS 1, 2 or 3? -
Thanks Adam. I have been doing a bit of hovering and know who they are now. At least I got you right, but must send apologies to Sid who has got very nice hair. The joke being that Lt hasn't got any, but don't tell him I've let all the World know.

Yes, I was wondering that. I think the young lad might be Adam Lowe, but have no idea who the other two are. :? Unless...unless...that's not you in the middle is it after a mistake with the bleach bottle again?

So is this a good reason not to have covers on British tracks? We all seem to think this will be the answer to rain-offs, but obviously not.
-
That explains it as I must admit to looking for you with a couple of children and in roughly the same place you were the previous week. :-(
-
Thanks Lioness. That looks pretty straight forward. I have made a note how to do it in my notebook so I don't forget - well one of my three notebooks on how to do things on the computer. :? ..

The riders tried to get the GP moved.....

Heard this on the Brandon terraces on Monday as well so it must be true and that Colin Meredith is returning to Brandon - you missed that bit out. What difference does that make? You give your real name but you still talk a load of rubbish sometimes. -
Whereabouts were you Julie? I saw you on Saturday, but not on Monday when Joanne was at Brandon, which is a shame because I wanted to introduce you to each other prior to Prague. :-( Sorry about that Joanne, but at least you are in contact now. Hope you all have a great time.
-
You were quick Lioness! I was trying to be clever and do what you did with the link - didn't work though. :-(
-
That's the tune described, but I didn't hear anything - probably gone deaf listening to all those marching bands Sir L provided. To actually hear the tune in all it's glory try here (sorry I don't know how to do those here thingys. Lt...you have definitely missed a few hums out, but I'll let you off because it was a long time ago.

Not one and the same person then?

Two out of 1559 is not very good though. Perhaps we will have to spread the word. .. Anyway at least Porkyfenman is better than PorkyPrimeCut as I now have nice visions of a rather overweight gentleman instead of a pig going round on a spit.

Do I get the prize then as I suggested that earlier on? ................................................................................ ................... "Imperial Echoes rings a bell. Can you hum that LT? Who was it that started this damn topic off? It's driving me mad now!" ................................................................................ .................... Thanks for letting us know Andy. Did your Dad tell you I met him for the first time at Peterborough last Wednesday? I did tell him to give you a slap from me and all the other contributors to this topic.

I think he is now in Wolf's clothing, masquerading as Mr Wolf at Monmore Green. ;-)

.....And I'm vegetarian. ...

Can you ditch the "Merry Xmas" until December 24th then, being as you are going to be nice from now on? ... I'm trying not to think about it yet, but I know in about two weeks time the shops will be stocking up on crackers, cards, trees. Ugh!! Good job Shoddy is not around at the moment.

No. And the riders individual scores don't usually add up to what the match result is. :? I don't feel too bad though because I'm certainly not the only one. Last week at Coventry three of us were all comparing our programmes because we had got different totals. Won't mention any names.
-
Ah! A man after my own heart. Glad I'm not the only one.
-
We had the dubious pleasure of having Finn Jensen in the Leicester Lions team as well. Afraid I'm not very keen on riders like him who end of with a scorechart of 0-3-0-3-0. I'd rather someone be consistent even if it's only a row of third places.

I am actually quite surprised that health and safety issues still allow guests on the centre green whilst the racing is on because occasionally - and thank goodness it is only occasionally - a rider or bike can go out of control and career across the grass. This happened at Newport when we were there and a photographer was quite badly injured. How is he now by the way - anyone know? At the time there were a number of disabled people in wheelchairs on the centre green with their carers and I thought this incident could have had even more catastrophic results than it did. Also there was the incident at Coventry a few months ago when a sidecar outfit went out of control and careered onto the centre. Luckily the track staff were able to jump out of the way, but it was a very close thing.

Joanne won't be because she is cruising on the high seas at the moment.
