  1. Sad we have to get old isn't it? Ivan looks a bit like Norman Wisdom now, or perhaps I should just go and put my glasses on.
  2. Good idea to book up early Norbold as I'm sure the seat the other side of Steve will be already taken.
  3. I know it is supposed to be a bonus to watch Speedway from the centre green, but personally I have never found the idea very attractive. All that pivoting round on the spot to follow the action. I'm afraid it doesn't appeal to me as I'd probably just end up feeling dizzy. What do you think Allan and Jennythedoc, A61 for instance, who have viewed from the centre green? Is it very much better or not?
  4. Sounds good to me Fd. I would prefer to be a bit further round the bend than we were last year anyway. ;-) One Adult and one Senior Citizen please.
  5. Is this the same reliable source that says all the Elite League promoters want a 40 point limit in the PL? It's strange how the EL promoters get blamed for everything when there are only 8 of them as against 18 PL promoters.
  6. Brilliant race Grachan. Thanks. Terribly ragged start and I definitely wouldn't like to go back to these days. ;-)
  7. Nor me, although I did like his great, great, great grandfather Hans Christian Andersen. Steve...It is quite spooky how much you and I think alike. I feel the same about Richardson as well. Do you want to compare notes?
  8. What a night indeed but shame about the Speedway. Most fans memories of Saturday refer to something other than the racing. My best ones were being with all the lovely forum members on the 4th bend, especially Joanne because you never know what little gem she is going to come out with next, and spotting Martin Rogers (ex Leicester promoter) as I came into the Stadium.
  9. Unfortunately only every other week so the timing would have to be spot on.
  10. I thought the David Walsh was in his fifties by now. He seems to have been around for ever.
  11. You are joking aren't you?! This must be the one and only David Walsh and Lioness will be able to tell you absolutely everything about him including what size his underpants are.
  12. Is it Jason Bunyan's birthday? Happy Birthday Jason.
  13. Someone has left a message on my webshots guestbook - didn't know I had one until I got an email - advising that the second rider in photo 37 behind Michael Lee is Bernie Leigh and not Martin Ashby which we were unsure of. Whoever this was I'd just like to thank them and I've now altered the photo accordingly.
  14. All booked up Shazzy. Everyone who went this year booked again for the next GP.

Oy! I've already had him on the first page. Get yer own! .. I only know about him because he has been mentioned before and I have an old Leicester programme from 1949 when he was at reserve, for Coventry I think. Don't think he ever did much good.
  16. A lot of people seem to book up their hotel when they leave the previous year, which is what we did and is the most sensible thing to do if you are satisfied with everything. In our case we have a brilliant hotel which allows dogs so Pawprint can stay in our room whilst the GP is on. Thank you The Townhouse Hotel on Cathedral Road.
  17. After 1994? Even I am interested now!
  18. Did you like him as much when he was in the Coventry team beegee? Just checking! ..
  19. So just when did I say you could borrow my crystall ball Joanne?!
  20. What - very strange I said Leicester or very strange about the black/white setting? There was housing very close to the Blackbird Road track like that. Oh. Well - wrong again.
  21. Thanks Kevin. I was thinking of Chris Pidcock who rode for Long Eaton.
  22. Leicester? You know that first photo did you scan it as "black/white"? Makes sense doesn't it with a black/white photo, but when I've tried it comes out just like that so I have to put the setting on "colour photo". Strange. :?
  23. So if your prediction was right Phil. what would the overall outcome be? World Champion...Crump, Second Pedersen, Third Rickardsson? I'm not one for statistics so I'll leave it to someone else to work out. TTF...Yes, I liked the pic. thanks. I'll keep that.
  24. After some of the things he gets called I thought "reckless" was quite mild. .. Anyway, good luck to all the riders tomorrow. Let's hope for a good track and some exciting racing.
