  1. Not to worry as you are new. You'll soon get used to the forum. By the way one of the other threads is here - 6 pages of it so far. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/ind...00entry625596
  2. Thanks Rob. Just wondering now if I stick "Norbold's Hole" into google whether it will be able to resurrect the thread we have been looking for recently. Actually thinking about it I think I'll pass on that as who knows what sort of topic it would bring up.
  3. Ah! Memories! Those were the days. The ELRC seems to have gone the way of Test Matches & the British Final unfortunately, but perhaps having it early in the season - as against in October when some of the riders couldn't be bothered to put themselves out to ride - might revive it.
  4. N4 as last year and hopefully sitting near the same people.
  5. Certainly do. Suffice to say that even the Coventry fans in our group didn't agree with that move on Mark. Terrible.
  6. Don't worry - I doubt if anyone has received their tickets yet. They are not usually sent until a few weeks before the event. Start panicking on June 2nd.
  7. Poor Duck. I'd say there is a 1% chance Tony will ride and 99% chance he won't.

    65 - 13

I saw Long Eaton beat Middlesborough 65 - 0. Great meeting watching two riders go round in each race.
  9. If you have to ask then she can't look like Katherine Tate. I was referring to Tracy on the left. Now is that Tracy's Mum or your Mum on the right?
  10. Great photos Steve. I was surprised to see Martin Rogers. Does he come over from Australia every year? By the way surely this is Katherine Tate? http://community.webshots.com/photo/548269...046933380GuDfzj
  11. Something I have wondered about for several years. I mean some of the fans on here openly admit they can't remember much about the racing. Probably the same ones who are forever getting out of their seats at Cardiff and disturbing everyone else so they can go and fetch their next drink.
  12. I had to laugh at that Iris as the description fits me perfectly. I've stood (or sat) on the same step for the past 20 odd years at Brandon and the people I'm with have been in that very same place for over 30 years. It's most annoying when the attendance is bigger and our spot has been taken. I like to be able to see without other fans standing in my way. I don't like the sun in my eyes and I like my space! That's the reason I always go on the 4th bend at Brandon and why I'd hate it on the first bend where it's usually packed out. And yes I'd never go to Poland with their flares and extrovert fans. Sad aren't I?
  13. Hansfan sounds pretty desperate. Can you help him/her? It was Newport but at this late stage I suppose anything would be useful. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/ind...showtopic=24582
  14. I don't know about nutrients! I'm trying to cut her weight down now she isn't galloping around all over the place. She has always been a bit fussy with food and I must have tried every dog food on the market, but for the past couple of years she really enjoys what she has and licks the bowl clean. A potted meat sandwich in the morning, a mixture of Iams, Bakers & tiny pieces of liver with some gravy (sorry AndyM - not home made!) in the evening. Yummy!
  15. Thanks for that information Hansfan. I've not noticed any reaction so far and no improvement either unfortunately. I was also sent a PM from someone on the forum saying her dog was on Metacam for 5 years and she developed a stomach ulcer and subsequently had to be put to sleep. That's rather worrying. Jemma is only 8 and I want to do what is best for her but I wouldn't like to think she's got to be on drugs for the rest of her life. Apologies to everyone else for straying off the topic, but Jemma is a regular visitor to Cardiff for the G.P. weekend and does stay in a hotel room. What's getting worse - the hotel situation or the G.P? I agree about hotel prices but that's just the way it goes. If you book a holiday during the school half-term or summer break it's always much more expensive than during term time. Same sort of thing. If you mean the G.P's are getting worse - I don't agree. The format is a lot better now and the racing. I've just transferred the 2005 video to DVD and I reckon it was the best one yet.
  16. You could have Star Lady's room/s if you are quick enough! http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/ind...showtopic=24433
  17. Just an idea but I think you should put this in the Speedway Discussions section as I'm sure more people will read it in there.
  18. .......I should think by now the riders would have him on their "Do not disturb" list.
  19. We're very lucky at Coventry as we regularly get to hear the JAP engines in the second half. Certainly a lot louder than today's bikes which begs the question weren't there any NIMBY'S around in those days moaning about the noise like there are today?
  20. Actually Jemma is having Metacam every day prescribed by the vet last week and I've got to take her back on the 28th to see if there is any improvement. The worst thing is not being able to chase her ball as that's all she has ever been interested in when out walking, but I can't risk her running around now. I met someone last week whose dog had the same problems and he was giving him Ibrofuren (?) - one tablet in the morning and one at night. I know you can give animals some drugs intended for humans but I wouldn't dare do that. In fact I mentioned it to the vet and she said it could cause liver damage in a dog. Anyway, back to these rooms in Cardiff......
  21. Might manage to bring Ray. Yes, two dogs this year but Molly will have to go in boarding kennels in Cardiff for the weekend. And we will have to watch how much walking we do this time being as Jemma is crippled up with arthritis. Do you reckon you could place your healing hands on her, Addy, if we happen to bump into you?
  22. I think you will find that most Hotels/B & B's also put their prices up for the G.P. weekend. I know ours has gone up quite considerately every year since they realised there was a big demand for rooms. I don't even know how much it is this year until I get presented with the bill when we leave. I'd rather not know.
  23. Must be me then as I've always enjoyed Cardiff and think the racing has got better each year. The atmosphere has deteriorated a little though, mainly due to the music being quieter than it was for the first couple of years. PUMP UP THE VOLUME! It saves me from having my ears shringed for 12 months.
  24. Got to agree with Rabbit on this one. Fair enough cancelling now if you object to the price hike for Cardiff weekend, but not to do it at the last minute when there are others who would take the room/s.
