Why don't you just delete your first post? No-one will know then.

No Mark Loram In The El Pairs .......
Gemini replied to Trees's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
The whole thing is one big mess and I hope it is sorted out soon. I think England desperately need Mark in the team so I hope he will be picked and will ride. -

I must be on Grachan's wave length then because I got it straight away, which is pretty good to know owing to a rapid decline in my brain cells these days. Now back on topic. What is Mark Loram's personality like? Is he going to get the hump now and turn down a place in England's World Cup team if asked? Me thinks .....Yes. -

Who me??? Don't tell me I've missed the connection with TK Max? Oh well.....I blame it on my age. -

A few years ago I used to love shopping there as I could get a lot of American ladies fashion clothes which were really well made. Susan Lawrence I think was the "designer label." I don't know what has happened but I can never find anything worth buying now. -
I must admit I did email Benfield Sports with a bit of praise following the G.P. Although I commented that the chance of the 2008 G.P. being in March wasn't going down very well with members of the speedway-forum, I didn't actually ask if it was true. I will send another email asking, also a request for the date of the 2007 G.P. If I get a reply I will let you know.

Thank you. That will suit me just fine.

Team Gb, Hans Andersen And The Gp's
Gemini replied to Mylor's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Agree with you Hansfan. My memory is terrible so you'll have to excuse me if I get this wrong, but I thought the Australia - Sweden thing was the other way round? Didn't the Australian duo not try very hard in their race against Sweden, which messed it up for England? So if we are still blaming riders for things that supposedly were done on purpose then we should include Jason Crump and Leigh Adams in the "hate campaign" as well. -
I bet your Mum is chuffed to bits with this one. http://community.webshots.com/photo/551045...043386490uODQLb .....and this one. http://community.webshots.com/photo/551045...043386490dchCGL .....and yet another. http://community.webshots.com/photo/551045...043386490zirPVd If you were my daughter I might just have to kill you for publishing those.

Chris Harris? Or do you think he has reached his peak now.

I'm more interested in 2007 at the moment as I have plans to make. Will the date go back to the usual second Saturday in June, presuming this year it was moved because of the football World Cup?
-
Sorry Hazzman I don't know when the next reunion is. If I hear anything I will let you know.

Sorry I haven't replied before but I was on holiday last week, followed by the usual weekend in Cardiff. I'm pretty sure the photo of Ken was taken in 1960 and it was at a cycle speedway track off Anstey Lane in Leicester. Stefan Kwoczala was also riding. Now here is a bit of useless information for you - at one time Leicester had no less than 13 tracks operating, but like speedway there has been a decline and unfortunately now there is only one at Slater Street.

I've got one of those somewhere which I bought for my son when he was about 7 or 8. You know - when you can dress them in what you like and they don't complain.
-
Help yourself to any photos that you want Chris. Do I go to Coventry? Have been since Leicester closed in '83 with my trusty 4 legged friend, but as you can imagine it was hard transferring to our deadliest enemy. I supported the visiting teams for a few years, but then made friends with a group of Bees fans so had to conform. If you ever have a walk round we are on the 3rd/4th bend. You can't miss us as the crowd is pretty sparse round that way and there are normally two Border Collies with us. (Won't be there on the 29th though as we are on holiday.)

I've got a few photos of the stadium on my webshots album if you are interested. I suppose it was a bit grotty inside but the outside of the building was quite striking. I'm surprised it wasn't listed, but like most things in Leicester beautiful buildings get knocked down. http://image32.webshots.com/33/7/29/46/243...46LCoGFw_fs.jpg

I bet you wouldn't recognise him now! Someone had to tell me who he was at a Leicester Reunion as I had no idea. White hair and beard. He could get a job at Christmas. Mind you that doesn't say a lot because I was sitting next to Vic White (apparently!) and he was looking at one of my scrapbooks when he laughed and said "Am I in here?" I wondered what he meant but the penny dropped when I got a dig in the ribs from the better half and he whispered in my ear who I was talking too. Photo of Colin Cook here. http://community.webshots.com/photo/109618...047007148HyXzIZ

Ah Colin! How could I have forgotten him. Great racer and I loved to watch him ride. I don't know where he is now - perhaps down East Anglia way still, with his wife Sue and about a dozen children. Colin rode for the Lions between 1979 and 1983 I believe. I can remember him having a really bad crash at Leicester when he got hooked up on the fence, similar to the one Mike Lanham had. A good memory though is him beating Ole Olsen round Blackbird Road in a Leicester v Coventry match. That went down very well with the Lions fans.

No wonder the envelopes weren't stuck down properly.

Well, it makes a change from etchings. My scrapbooks are very popular I'll have you know and have been passed around many times at the Leicester Reunions amongst the fans and ex-riders. Someone even wants me to let him have them when I kick the bucket. As you probably know John was at a Leicester Reunion last September and gave an interesting talk. A good evening was had by all and if anyone would like to know what John looks like now take a look at this photo. Where were you when I was trying to sell a few programmes & a couple of Leicester Lions badges recently on ebay? No interest at all, but I did sell a Leicester Hunters car badge for £26 and Leicester Hunters 1949 badge with 3 year bars for £14. 85p or something like that. The 1949 badge ended up in Canada! I started going to Blackbird Road in 1949 and my favourite riders around that time and the 50's were Charlie Barsby, Johnnie Carpenter, Len Williams, Joe Bowkis, Bryan Elliott, Jack Winstanley....but these were before you were even born. (God...I feel old now!) Later on it was Ray Wilson, John Boulger, Ken McKinlay etc. Happy Memories. You will have to see my scrapbooks sometime as I am sad enough to have kept newspaper cuttings and pictures of Leicester riders (and others) from the 1950's onwards. I am on to book 3 now. Liontamer is the one with race jackets. I think he has a garage full of them. I'm glad to see I'm not the only ex-Leicester fan who has been brave enough to join the enemy forces.

....You'll be lucky! Mr S. is a very bad loser - he admits to that himself. -

I'm glad you said that Rabbit. I was trying to avoid going into details because the Nicki P fans don't like any criticism of their beloved. Still haven't got a shot of him picking his nose yet....but I suppose it's early days. He has really got some disgusting habits. His mother should have a word with him on how to behave in public. -

Here's something else. I thought A.J. looked really well tonight, unless it was the lighting. No-one mentioning Nicki P? I do wish the Sky cameras would avoid doing close-ups of him because it's never safe. Hope no-one was eating their dinner. -
It's only a ticket though I can't really see what the problem is. We are all receiving them in plenty of time. I would imagine it takes a long while to sort all the seating arrangements out so they are not going to print a few tickets at a time for every order they get. I'd be more concerned about the envelopes arriving unsealed to be honest, although ours were okay.
