Just checking you are quite sure about that? Is the grandstand not sold out yet and will there be standing room only if you get there at the crack of dawn to make sure you get a good place in the queue? -

Well at least you knew where the Turnip was so that's something I suppose. -

Naughty Colin! Actually there has been a big supply of turnips sent from the Ipswich and Mildenhall fans, for which we are very grateful. There has also been a delivery of loads of sour grapes from the Sherbourne area of Dorset but they'll probably have to be thrown away unfortunately as they give the horse's diahre....diaree....the runs. -

Johnno's best mates. c/o Aylestone Playing Fields traveller's camp site, Leicester. That should do it but I can't really guarantee the final destination of the money as it depends whether the horse's are all fit enough to pull the carts to travel to Coventry in June. They seem to be getting a bit thin now, having eaten all the grass, but as I've already put out an appeal for people to donate apples, carrots, biscuits etc., and send them to the supporters kiosk at Brandon they should have built up their strength again by June. Incidentally I've heard donations of food are flooding in from fans all across the country so I must thank Colin (Cooke) and his dad Bob for kindly offering to separate everything and put into the appropriate bags ready for collection. Please bear with them if there is a disruption to the excellant programme service they normally give on speedway nights but they are apparently knee deep in vegetables at the moment. No biscuits apparently so I might have to check what's happened to them tomorrow......not that I'm accusing anyone of course. -

The travellers are staying put in Aylestone playing fields, Leicester, not far from the M69 to Coventry. They should have moved on after 3 months but a spokesman said there is no way they would be moving until after Johnno's testimonial because they are not going to lose their place in the queue now. Unfortunately the horse's have just about eaten all the grass on the football and cricket pitches so it's a bit of a worry wondering what they are going to eat until the middle of June. I can't help I'm afraid as I'm already feeding all the birds, rats, squirrels, ducks, swans, geese and anything else that moves on my walks every day so I just can't afford to do any more. Perhaps if anyone has some old carrots, apples, biscuits etc. they could leave them in the supporters kiosk at Brandon and I'll pick them up every week? That would be really nice and I know Bob and Colin will be chuffed to bits to be of some help. -

He's a very naughty boy and I told him off last night. Any more problems and I'll be round with the dog on Friday, after making sure she hasn't had her dinner so will be in a fighting mood. -

Perhaps it's Rolf that has put the mockers on rooboy. -
Is his wife still alive? I guess between them the family would have some very interesting tales to tell. Martin was never really very keen on speedway though was he?

I should think so. Just send him a PM on here or give him a call on the telephone number he's given. I'm going right off you. No, actually go ahead. I'd be really interested in an interview with Charles.

Sounds like you can order individual back copies so just pick the ones you want and you have a choice of how to pay. All Tony is saying is that it's cheaper to subscribe so you get 6 issues for £16, not that you have to subscribe. Are you not paying attention H.G?! ...

That's Norris isn't it? He's such a gossip I suppose the whole of the street will know by now and the programme will be disrupted for the next few months as they organise which cast members can be spared while they wait in the queue. -

Which is? And why can't all tracks use the same if it would save a lot of rained off meetings? Edited to put the quote in. It's all Bryn's fault! -

Not just Peterborough it's all the way down the M69 into Leicester and families have taken up residence in their caravans in a local "disused" car park waiting for the big day. Actually it's only disused because it was blocked off 2 years ago to stop them getting in, but Leicester City Council being sympathetic to their pleas to be ready for Johnno's testimonial agreed to open it again. 14 horses are also tethered on the nearby park, presumably in case of an emergency if there are any vehicle breakdowns. Not forgetting the 3 chickens and 8 assorted dogs but I would imagine these will be left behind. Or......I could do my good deed for the day tomorrow and call in and tell them that dogs are very welcome at Brandon. Actually I'm not so sure the chickens will still be alive after Easter so I won't worry about them as the ones wandering around in December seemed to disappear after the 25th. Perhaps they just went for a walkabout in the wood and got lost. -

Very wise decision Colin. As I've dared to take on someone armed with a gun tackling you would be easy. You can borrow Molly for a few months if you like. She loves chairs, but prefers to be underneath one so she won't be leaving any hairs behind. Very protective of a chair is Molly and I can guarantee she won't let anyone near it. -

Oh I don't know. Some of the posts have made me laugh and it's not often that happens on here amongst all the moaning, bitching and whingeing. If it bothers you that much and you intend coming to Johnno's testimonial then read this thread about the middle of June to see what the line up is. Alternatively stick all the so-called "in-crowd" on ignore and then you needn't read their infantile nonsense. -

Great. That will definitely get Nevsy up for the meeting as he is quite partial to ice cream vans. So I hope that means that great black, hairy thing of Rory's has to be paid for as well. If there are no concessions for the over 60's then there should be none for riders either. -

Just had a thought. Do you reckon there will be a charge for dogs to get in? I mean like the children at Poole they are taking up space that could be occupied by a paying adult. If they do insist on this I'll want Rosie the guard dog to have a ticket as well. Fairs fair. She's a damn big dog. -

You've quoted my post Steve but I was on your side and trying to calm Sandie down a bit. I can't be bothered to get het up over speedway and what people post. Like you say there are a few Coventry fans who have done a lot of gloating so it's swings and roundabouts. You're just misunderstood. -

You'll feel better tomorrow Sandie. But if not....well you're best to just let it wash over you like water off a duck's back, otherwise it's going to be a long season of discontent.
