  1. Hi Phil (# Name Removed # was it?) Welcome back and I hope you can stick around this time. If you want to send Lt a personal message of thanks you can via his email address on the forum - just click on the email bit on his post on page one and Bob's your uncle. Better be pretty smartish though because I think he is going on holiday soon. Typical of him to leave us in the lurch, humming different marching tunes while he clears off to a sunny country somewhere.
  2. Hard luck - he's not right. More likely Leicester City Football team's signature tune. I don't really know because I've only ever been once about 40 years ago, but they are called The Foxes so it would be appropriate. They might have played it at the beginning of the Hunters meetings of course, but I don't remember it being the marching out tune in the 60's. Back to the drawing board again then. :-(
  3. Sorry Bunny! I've just noticed you are browsing. I'm off then.......
  4. With two of the biggest whingers in the England team the manager had better make sure there are plenty of toys available to replace all those that get broken. Let's hope the tracks are all perfect, no ruts, holes, bumps and not watered too much, the inside line is prepared to perfection for Gary Havelock because he won't be venturing anywhere else and the sun shines every day (but not too much). Phew! Stand by for blasting.
  5. ..Brain working well today Norbold! Very witty!
  6. I'm sure he was standing in front of us at Trelawny when we were there recently, but I wasn't brave enough to ask. Knowing my reputation with faces (being unable to recognise forum members I've met before) I'm probably completely wrong as it was about 40 years ago since I last saw him. I know he still lives down South somewhere but am not sure if he still attends meetings. I've still got an old black/white photo I took of Harry on route somewhere. Battered old car with the bike strapped on the back. Those were the days! Even when just starting out the youngsters today seem to have decent transport, even if it's just the good old Ford Transit van with International Speedway Rideremblazoned on the sides. ;-)
  7. Afraid it's the Atari for me then being one of the really old people. I've still got one too and loads of games. Can't beat the old Space Invaders, Q Bert and Keystone Kapers etc. You're right Bee that tune does sound like The Archers.
  8. Well I have emailed him letting him know what havoc he has caused and if he ever finds out what the music is to please let us know!
  9. I wish! That's why I'm still getting up at 6.30am and doing an office cleaning job. Mind you it's worth it just to listen to Wogan for an hour. ;-)
  10. They're older, Kevin, so have plenty stashed away. ;-) ..
  11. I think you might be confusing him with Emily Bishop off Coronation Street J.J.
  12. Welcome to the forum Jenny. Really famous name there and I'm sure there might be some on here who will admit to seeing him ride, but unfortunately I don't think I have, although I do go back to 1949 so who knows. Norbold will be really interested in this and give you some information I'm sure as soon as he spots this topic. By the way...you will have to get used to the weird sense of humour of some members.
  13. Definitely getting more interesting now as you have reached my era. I started going to Speedway in 1949 when I was eight so unfortunately recognise all the names now. Hope you will be able to carry on.
  14. I don't know whether you are making this worse or better Sir L! You've certainly given me a laugh though imagining the track staff marching out to some of these tunes. They used to have a job keeping in step as it was so it would have been amusing seeing their efforts to keep in time with some of these! Anyway, I will probably come back to them again tonight and play a few more because there's damn all on the tele. Incidentally I didn't know Wolverine had his very own signature tune named after him. (aka Wolfcrazy on here.)
  15. I think that's the one they always used at Coventry. I reckon it's Liontamer's one - altogether now...... Rrum Dum Dum Dum Duu D D Dum, Rrum dum dum dum Duu D D Dum, D D Dum Dum Dum Dum......
  16. Oh. Well, perhaps England have a chance of getting through to the next round afterall. ;-) Why no Greg Hancock? I know Billy Hamill didn't want to be included but I didn't know about Greg as well.
  17. I telephoned Maurice Jones this morning (yes, I'm desperate!) but unfortunately he wasn't able to help. He did say though that there has been a discussion on Radio Leicester about this recently so it sounds like some sort of quiz. I say we keep quiet now because perhaps Andy Rowe is in line for the million pounds prize money if he finds out. ..
  18. Imperial Echoes rings a bell. Can you hum that LT? Who was it that started this damn topic off? It's driving me mad now!
  19. Thanks emzey01. Have listened to the music and I think that could be it, but my husband says it's not, so I guess we will have to wait for confirmation from someone with a better memory. :?
  20. Gemini might have known if she hadn't gone senile over the years. :? Was it something like "Blaze Away" by an RAF band? Hubby reckons it was "You'd be far better off in a home." but I think he's getting confused and is referring to me.
  21. I never could understand why Bruce got all that criticism. If it had been two English riders we would think it selfish if say Peter Collins had knocked out Chris Morton, when he didn't need to win the race. I wasn't at the meeting but know Bruce got a lot of stick, unfairly I thought.
  22. Well he supposed to be riding at Poole tomorrow for Coventry so I should imagine he is riding on Saturday. Well, as we now all know Lee didn't ride at Poole last night, except for a couple of laps. He is going to have the same operation that Andreas Jonsson had so will miss the GP on Saturday.
  23. Just caught up with this now John and answered in the other section. (Elite League - Poole v Coventry 9th July). Lovely to hear from you. Pawprint was six years old on June 11th and is a lot more sociable now as she was a bit nervous when she was a puppy, as I'm sure you know. ;-)
  24. Steve Turner is going to this one. He doesn't seem to have been around lately so perhaps he is going by rowing boat and set off a week last Monday. Have a good time Steve.
  25. I'm sure BSI haven't done anything to upset Billy. I think this season he is winding down ready for retirement. I fully expect this to be his last season over here. :-(
