  1. I wonder if Kelvin could have a word with Simon Stead now. Hear, hear. (With grateful thanks to my spell checker.) Well done Scott tonight. Agree again. Loads of times Tomasz just gives up and toddles round at the back if the track doesn't suit him. I'd much rather support someone like Scott who gives 100% all the time for 4 laps.
  2. Easy - Sandie looks like this. http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/27528...047007148GEpzos but only occasionally. Edit.....Sorry Sandie. Perhaps it's just as well I won't be seeing you for a while.
  3. Are we all still moaning? Oh good 'cos I've just thought of another thing that irritates me. The statistics for the winning gate positions. Like your post above it implies that whoever gates first from a given grid position wins the race, when in fact it could be someone completely different who has had to fight his way through from the back.
  4. I hate repetitions and try not to let Millard annoy me, but that is really bugging me at the moment. "And right at the back is........" It doesn't matter whether it's the first lap and the rider is actually right at the back or challenging for 3rd place (which is what happened several times on Saturday) he's not "in 4th place at the moment", he's right at the back. Arrgh! And whilst we're talking repetitions how about Chris Harris? He seems to start every sentence with "Oh definitely." I'm just waiting for the interviewer to say something along the lines of "Well, Chris you have had a pretty rubbish G.P. so far." I'm sure Chris will still say "Oh definitely."
  5. Very impressive. Thanks. I don't suppose they had testimonials in those days, but Gordon would have certainly deserved one.....or two.
  6. Send a PM to one of the mods or Phil. the webmaster and they can do it.
  7. Include Leicester Hunters amongst the others. Gordon rode for us for two seasons - 1955 and 1956 - scoring over 800 points in 83 matches, but was loaned to Oxford in 1957 because he had secured work in that area.
  8. You've either been spending too much time with SCB or your vowels aren't working.
  9. Bald, big ears, red eyes, horns growing out of his head? I know what you mean. Actually he's very nice and not bad looking either.....if only I was 50 years younger.
  10. Go on then - just for your eyes only I've put a photo of the handsome brute back on again. http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/25072...047007148SWdgVa
  11. How come this one stop shop car park doesn't mind scores of speedway fans cars taking up their parking spaces? Normally at supermarkets, for example, there is a limit of two hours and I'm sure that's the job Joanne had a while ago; making sure no-one stayed for more than 2 hours on her little patch.
  12. Oh dear! Perhaps it's just as well I took the photo off so I'm safe. And after all that worrying Sub. didn't mind anyway. Told you he was nice.
  13. You've got me worried now. Who on earth are the Welsh Gulags? Actually I'm more worried about Subedei. Perhaps I should check if he objects, although it has been up there for 3 years. And why is everyone quoting my posts? I don't stand a cat in hell's chance of denying everything now. Oh...and by the way Sub is the one on the right of the photo with the long flowing hair, just in case anyone is confused.
  14. Subedei? I've met him twice and have a photo of him taken at Coventry 3 years ago on my webshots http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/22382...047007148OsWYSJ Hoping he doesn't mind, but after the write up I'm giving him, surely not? (Dig that shirt!) I met him again a few weeks ago at Berwick and can confirm he is all the things you say and more. He is intelligent, articulate, has a brilliant sense of humour and is a thoroughly nice chap. If only he didn't keep repeating the same things over and over again on the forum he would be perfect.
  15. Now that I can believe, although I wasn't a Coventry fan back then. I've got a terrible memory but one thing I've never forgotten is the sight of Ron smashing into the fence on the fourth bend where I stand. He was way out in front so heaven knows what he was doing; perhaps a lapse of concentration.
  16. Very sorry to hear that. He attended a reunion in Leicester in 2004 and I took this photo of him with Charlie Barsby. http://rides.webshots.com/photo/1450617580047007148MjXmrK
  17. You may be assuming wrongly. Subedei has stated elsewhere on the forum that next year's final is in Poland and he's always right isn't he?
  18. I think Keith Hewen was saying that in a roundabout way by repeatedly calling the team GBR. The R stands for Rubbish doesn't it? What do I expect on Thursday? Britain to be battling for 3rd place with the Russians. (But I'll be very happy to be proved wrong.)
  19. If you say. Who knows exactly because the forum has been going since 2001, but it's definitely Middlo. You're getting too cynical. Must have been those changes Wolverhampton were promised but nothing has happened yet.
  20. Yes, he'd be a really good role model, having to nip out of the pits every few minutes for a cigarette.
