  1. Sorry, but the first four photos have nothing on the back so I don't know who they are. I am hoping someone will be able to tell me. The majority of the other ones are named but I am letting people have a guess. It's keeping some of them happy anyway and I am learning a thing or two, like Dave Jessup riding for Kings Lynn.
  2. falcace... 23 - Muller, Gundersen, Ross, Jancarz? Correct, but not Jancarz. 43 - Graeme Stapleton (fairly sure), David Gagen (stab in the dark) No! 50 - Les Collins at PC Testimonial 1980 (how nerdy is that? ) Yes. 44 - Benny O'Rourke? Yes. How did you get that?! 46 - Wayne Jackson, Steve McDermott?, John Barker All I've got is the rider crashing and that's John Barker so you're correct. Looks like grachan has got it right though ( with a bit of cheating!) Les Rumsey and Mike Fullerton are the other riders. 22 - Knudsen, Andersson Yes. 25 - Olsen, Penhall (classic race) Yes. 27 - Knudsen, Lee, Muller Yes. 26 - Knudsen, Penhall (double classic race) Yes. 47 - Mike Lee, Martin Ashby No. Grachan One of 43 is, I think, Barry Crowson and Graeme Stapleton. Barry Crowson is right but not Graeme Stapleton. No 42 - the words Dave & Gooderham come to mind and won't go away. Try harder to make them go away 'cos it's not right. No 46 - Mike Fullerton, Les Rumsey & John Barker (I cheated on that one - it's in Mike Patrick's Superstars of Speedway) Naughty!! Anyway, you've done me a favour because I'd only got John Barker on the back of the photo. 52 - Paul Tyrer? Is that a trick question? I thought I'd only gone up to 51.
  3. Steve Hone...... no 9 is Penhall inside Carter. Yes. no 15 looks like Kelly Moran leading Carter Yes. no 5 is the same crash as 43 at Wimbledon. Never even noticed that! :? Not got the riders though have you? 21 is possibly Mike Lee, Jan Andersson, Penhall, Gundersen Yes. 24 is Nielsen in front, possibly Morton and Jancarz behind First two correct, but it's not Jancarz. 23...Muller, Gundersen, Crump, Stancl Muller, Gundersen correct, but it's not Crump and Stancl. Falcace... 16 - Crump, K Moran, Nielsen, V Verner Yes. 10 - K Moran, P Collins. Yes. Well done Falcace. Jeff.... 43 Rickard Hellsen & Roger Johns. No. Don't think anyone will get this. WATigerman.... Speedway no. 50 - Les Collins. Yes. Speedway no. 12 - Bruce Penhall leads Dave Jessup Yes. Speedway no. 13 - Dave Jessup/Les Collins Les Collins. I haven't got the name of the Kings Lynn rider. Did Jessup ride for Lynn or is that a stupid question?
  4. We're on a roll now! That's right. Should make No 9 a bit easier? (Or perhaps not.) I've added your name as correct underneath the photo.
  5. Yes that's correct Jeff. Well done. Spot on WATigerman. Will bow to your knowledge Steve because it doesn't say who is 2nd. Thanks. Jeff has got this one right - Rolf Gramstad. You'll never guess these two! _________________
  6. That address is correct Kevin. I have just checked in our telephone directory. Tele. No:- 01530 244070.
  7. pic 41 looks like Jessup. Correct. is it Simmo in white in pic 43? No. picture 47... possibly Bo Petersen (he looks tall) in front of John Davis Yes, but don't know about John Davis. 48 is Doug Wyer (going by the tassles on the leathers) Yes. 49 looks like a Leicester rider going by the jersey (red with yellow stripes) Yes, but who? 51 is Puff Daddy If you mean Bruce Penhall, then Yes.
  8. Correct Steve, except it's Les Collins in pic. 18 not Peter.
  9. That was pretty easy then grachan! Rider number 12 is Jiri Stancl father of George. Can't believe that commentators would keep repeating themselves years ago - thought this was just Tony Millard.
  10. Glad you enjoyed looking at them. I've put some more on now but haven't listed the riders in case anyone wanted to have a guess who they are.
  11. Mmmm...I've got quite a few of Bruce Penhall shirtless, but I don't like to mention his name because it encourages comments - - - - allegedly.
  12. Who used to ride in the striped jersey's? Was it Southampton? I'm still trying to work out if this is a joke. Some more photos have been added if anyone wants to have a guess at the riders. I know who most of them are, but have not put any names in case there are any clever people out there want to have a go at guessing. http://community.webshots.com/user/hambolwen
  13. Funnily enough Lioness there have been Speedway page 3 fellas...well page 7 actually...as I've just found them in my scrapbook. I can't think why I kept these cuttings from 1985, but there is one of John Davis and another of Andy Campbell (who you've probably never heard of). Both are sitting on their Speedway bike and are stripped down to their underpants. Sadly I have also come across cuttings of the Billy Sanders tragedy (1985) and Kenny Carter (1986). Makes very depressing reading and such an awful waste of their lives. :-(
  14. This might be a bit harder to solve than the recent Edinburgh team of 1965 as they are black/white action photo's from the 60's (I think.) Any suggestions would be appreciated as to the identity of the riders in the 4 photo's labelled "Guess Who?", also the Edinburgh rider. Thanks. http://community.webshots.com/user/hambolwen
  15. Now, now - don't be greedy! Britain will be happy to get one in the top ten.
  16. He is. Just a shame he can't use any smilies. Never mind here's one for you.....cracking bit of stuff this and Irish I understand.
  17. Gemini

    Nicknames

Squib Burton....or was that his real name? And not forgetting Crusty Pye.
  18. Personally I much preferred him in The Money Pit. Really funny.
  19. Okay that's the successes (well done!) but what about the bad prediction? Hello Jo! Think you need to borrow my crystall ball. 1) "AJ is gonna win this - he's flying at the moment." "Never! He won't even make the final."
  20. Where do you think he was riding - at a quarry? The Coventry track doesn't have boulders on it.
  21. True, but he only said last week on Sky that he was fully fit and had never felt better. Well, except for the poorly hand now..... By the way, I like you already scottymelloty. You've got a sense of humour. Welcome to the Mad House.
  22. With the possible exception of Ryan Sullivan who virtually gave up at Coventry after 3 races with a cut on his hand, but of course that wasn't a GP. If it was he would no doubt have covered it with a plaster and carried on. Wuss! ..
  23. Sounds good to me. Don't forget Flash if there are any spare nibbles going as he must be fed up just scrounging round for the bits dropped on the floor, towards the end of the bottle of wine, when your hand to mouth co-ordination is getting a bit weak.
  24. Wouldn't it have been cheaper to just get drunk in this country? ..
