  1. Misunderstanding here I think. I meant he did bugger all in the World Cup at Coventry.
  2. Well, I hope not but Rune Holta rode for Norway and then switched to Poland.
  3. Well he did bugger all at Coventry last year. If that was his "best" then heaven help us.
  4. So if he's got a Polish passport does that mean he can ride for Poland in the World Cup? If this is the case I wonder if he can be persuaded to get an English passport instead because we could certainly do with talent like him in the team.
  5. Tony Millard doesn't annoy me too much but his repetition of "and right at the back is......" every race drives me mad. Often the rider "right at the back" then proceeds to move into second place just after he's said it, as happened tonight. Bah!
  6. Is Steve even on here any more? It doesn't look like he has posted anything since last August.
  7. Damn stupid idea I agree but it doesn't look like it's going to change any time soon and your chances of getting a reply as to why don't look very good either.
  8. No Billy Janniro? Surely he would do better than Ricky Wells and Kenny Ingalls (with apoligies if he is another Greg Hancock but I've never heard of him.)
  9. Received a reply from Alan this morning. He is not a member of the forum so as a guest can't post at the moment (I'll work on that!) Hello Janet Nice to hear from you again and it looks like the return of speedway in Leicester is getting nearer. I have read the comments on Speedway Forum and as you say I am not a member. perhaps I should be! However, the track was built on land that formed part of Lodge Farm in the parish of Belgrave. The old farmhouse was converted to a clubhouse and the outbuildings were adopted as a workshop for the mechanics. This may help the person to locate the site who was looking on the Ordnance Survey map. Of course the features of Melton Road has changed somewhat since 1929 when the Super was built. As you can see from the details above, there were no properties, only fields. But to give you a fix, on the way out of Leicester on the right hand side just before the X roads where Thorn Lighting stands there is (or was) a building that was occupied by Iceland (Frozen foods) and the track was situated in the fields behind this building. Hope this answers the question. Regards, Alan
  10. And I'm still trying. Have sent Alan an email to the last address I had for him so hopefully he will reply. Watch this space.
  11. Alan is a member on here so I have sent him a P.M. Hopefully he will then be able to answer the question.
  12. Was it really Vic Emms (only querying because I wasn't there) or are you going an ooh wee bit too far back and it was Cliff Emms? So which one was he on Britain's got talent? The Singing in the Rain lad?
  13. I've seen Barrow Boy if that counts. Met him for the first time at Peterborough tonight.
  14. They probably have. I thought he didn't want to ride in England? So why didn't Scott show up? I hope he let them know beforehand.
  15. Who's the one who has just lost his record contract ..... Leon somebody? Perhaps be him, although anyone would be better than Tom Jones who should just be limited to radio these days.
  16. Gawd they haven't got Colin Meredith doing the track every week have they?
  17. Have you got to stay over? Coventry run coaches to Cardiff, getting there around 12pm and I'm sure Birmingham will as well.
  18. Strewth Norbold. We're not that old on here. Perhaps your best bet will be Kiwi if he spots this and asks his Dad.....or his Grandad.
  19. What do you mean during the 70's and 80's? If you stay right until the bitter end it's still played at Brandon. Well, it was but I suppose it will be getting the boot again this season now Superbart is back.
  20. I was just going to ask that as well.
  21. Many thanks Tony. Much appreciated.
  22. Okay stand by for the correct team. Len Williams Ron Phillips Charlie Barsby Ken McKinlay (on bike) Ted Flanaghan (team manager) Gordon McGregor Derek Close Johnnie Green
