  1. Sounds just like the Coventry team for 2004, if there is no change. We should be okay then.
  2. Thanks Jez. That probably ties in with the little inkling at the back of my mind about Martin Ashby or Marvin Cox. Yes, I know it's hard to understand but it's the "M" you see.
  3. Thanks Grachan - yes it is Bobby Ott. Great style. I used to really enjoy watching him - and Cowboy John Cook. Guess I'm wrong about Martin Ashby. How about Marvin Cox?
  4. I don't think Robbo wants any Fd. That's what I understand from his posting....Robbo 0. Shawns staying at home lol. He said earlier he only wanted a ticket if Shawn was going.
  5. Gee thanks WATigerman. On we go then..... FS..Thanks for your reply. We thought it was Gary Havelock in Red. Any idea who the other rider is with the very distinctive style? (I know.) You are right about No 21 - Chris Manchester. Are you definite about Joe Screen (20) and Dean Barker (23)? If so I can add the photos to my scrapbook. For some reason I've got Martin Ashby in my mind as one of them, but that means nothing really. Where's Steve Hone? He is the expert of riders leathers.
  6. Mine? Yes it's brilliant isn't it?
  7. Hope you don't mind if I highjack this thread, but I don't want to start a new one in the interests of bandwidth. Can anyone name the riders in the six photos I've added to my 4th webshots album please? I am particularly interested in photos 19 (rider in red), 20, and 23 because I don't know who they are.
  8. Good grief! Knowing how unpredictable Jensen was at Leicester, I bet he didn't score at all in his next match. You've lost me on that one. Have you got any more info. about him? By the way, welcome to the forum. As you have just found out we are full of "constructive" comments on here.
  9. CVS has been running a Wolves Conference League team this year at Monmore Green on Tuesday evenings, but I don't think it has been very successful because he is not doing it next year. I see you are from Stafford which I am very familiar with as my Mum and Dad came from there and we still have relatives in the town. So what are you doing converting to a Wolf when it must be nearer to go to Stoke?
  10. Ah! I am feeling better already. The only races that stick in my memory from Blackbird Road were when Mike Lanham and Colin Cook had terrible accidents after getting hooked up on the wire safety fence. Colin Cook beating Ole Olsen from the back to save the match for the Lions. That was brilliant! Also Mark Courtney dragging his foot through a big puddle on each lap to splash Olsen, but I'm getting help with my memory for these two because I have them on video. From Hyde Road, Belle Vue, another awful crash involving Mick McKeon and Mike Lohmann which was a deliberate attempt to fence one of the riders following an incident on the previous bend. Can't remember who started it and did the retaliating, but they both ended up in hospital. :-(
  11. Unfortunately no. I do hope you have copied this from somewhere and you haven't remembered it all because I get really depressed when people can recall specific matches and races. I can remember sod all about Speedway years ago although I have been going since 1949. :-(
  12. What makes you think we are loud supporters? Good as gold, quiet as little mice, that's us. Well, with one or two exceptions. Welcome to the group. Best send Fd an email to confirm.
  13. Sad we have to get old isn't it? Ivan looks a bit like Norman Wisdom now, or perhaps I should just go and put my glasses on.
  14. Good idea to book up early Norbold as I'm sure the seat the other side of Steve will be already taken.
  15. I know it is supposed to be a bonus to watch Speedway from the centre green, but personally I have never found the idea very attractive. All that pivoting round on the spot to follow the action. I'm afraid it doesn't appeal to me as I'd probably just end up feeling dizzy. What do you think Allan and Jennythedoc, A61 for instance, who have viewed from the centre green? Is it very much better or not?
  16. Sounds good to me Fd. I would prefer to be a bit further round the bend than we were last year anyway. ;-) One Adult and one Senior Citizen please.
  17. Is this the same reliable source that says all the Elite League promoters want a 40 point limit in the PL? It's strange how the EL promoters get blamed for everything when there are only 8 of them as against 18 PL promoters.
  18. Brilliant race Grachan. Thanks. Terribly ragged start and I definitely wouldn't like to go back to these days. ;-)
  19. Nor me, although I did like his great, great, great grandfather Hans Christian Andersen. Steve...It is quite spooky how much you and I think alike. I feel the same about Richardson as well. Do you want to compare notes?
  20. What a night indeed but shame about the Speedway. Most fans memories of Saturday refer to something other than the racing. My best ones were being with all the lovely forum members on the 4th bend, especially Joanne because you never know what little gem she is going to come out with next, and spotting Martin Rogers (ex Leicester promoter) as I came into the Stadium.
  21. Unfortunately only every other week so the timing would have to be spot on.
  22. I thought the David Walsh was in his fifties by now. He seems to have been around for ever.
  23. You are joking aren't you?! This must be the one and only David Walsh and Lioness will be able to tell you absolutely everything about him including what size his underpants are.
  24. Is it Jason Bunyan's birthday? Happy Birthday Jason.
