And a nice fourth place for Morten Risager. Radik Smolinski....Who is he?
-
Oh No! Please don't start another topic about handlebars or we'll get into all sorts of trouble again. ..
-
Such great fun when that happens isn't it? I went to a match at Long Eaton where Middlesborough were unhappy with the track so refused to ride. Long Eaton then went on to score 5-0 in all the races.
-
Aye...Point taken, but no cheating allowed as the topic says riders 1-7. That was certainly some team in 1983 though and makes me realise all the more how poor the quality of the EL will be next season. Where do you watch your Speedway now Mark? Have many happy memories of Cradley Heath, when we could find the damn place that is.
-
How did I manage to miss him out? Now corrected.
-
Being as you've got one more rider than everyone else I guess it would. My team would be - 1]Simon Wigg 2]Bruce Penhall 3]Jan O Pedersen 4]Erik Gundersen 5]Greg Hancock 6]Phil Collins 7]Billy Hamill

Thank you for sorting all this out Fd. -
Or Coventry. David Norris wouldn't last long. He'd be all packed up and pushing his pram home after his first ride.
-
I think you might be right there Shalewhale. According to the Speedway Star, Peterborough are struggling to put a team together. Mick Horton quote..... "I want to run in the Elite League but certain things will have to happen on Monday. We need protection over Kenneth Bjerre and we will also need some leeway over top-end riders."
-
Brilliant Grachan. Thanks. I will soon have to get a new computer with more memory at this rate.
-
And I would say fine as well, as long as Coventry have got two 8+ riders too. I can't see anything wrong in teams having two riders from groups A and B if there are enough to go round. See....we are agreeing again. I think we were all prepared to lose one top rider to another team anyway so that's no big deal. I just think it is ridiculous to bring on a rider like BJ, but as soon as he improves to heat leader status we have to let him go. By the way, I'm not desperate for Bees to win anything as I don't take Speedway seriously. I think CVS has summed the situation up perfectly by his remarks in this week's Speedway Star......"The traditional Speedway fan hates change, but we have to think of the new audience, the TV audience." So there we have it - Speedway the new "It's a Knockout." And you would know this is Colin Pratt I presume?
-
Lupus...Why don't you give it a rest now about Colin Pratt and your fixation with Coventry. He wasn't the one who held the others to ransom in Tenerife. If the promoter's are having second thoughts about the new rules they are introducing then perhaps at long last they are taking notice of what the fans have been saying.
-
That just about sums it up. Looking good isn't it?
-
Makes you wonder if the bikes were more reliable in those days? I'm sure if a rider turned up with only one bike now it would be deemed very unprofessional.
-
Oy Shoddy! Leave Dogs out of it. They are much too intelligent and lovely animals to be mentioned in that sentence. I agree with the rest of it though.
-
But it was rumoured Lee Richardson was leaving Coventry anyway, Mark Loram off to pastures new, also Leigh Adams to Swindon so surely the riders would have been spread around anyway?
-
What - students? They make that much of a racket themselves I shouldn't think they would ever hear the Speedway, so no problems there.

You didn't manage it last time! Ah! But don't forget there was unfortunately row 13 between the two groups so I couldn't quite reach to bash anyone who was misbehaving. Now Fd has got the two rows together I will be ready and waiting. -

That's seven. 21 to go...... Perhaps we can have a row of 14 "quieter" ones behind a row of the more exuberant members so we can keep them in order this time. -
How do you work that out Phil? According to Bees Man on another thread, Coventry will probably have to let two of their top three go. Might as well ride in the Premier League.

Me and Summit. That's two - only twenty-six to go. -
Hopefully not Steve, or you will have Shazzybird after you again......
-
Do you know which one did the fencing? All I can remember is a Nicki Pederson type pass on the previous bend which the rider took exception to so he went after him on the next bend. A bad case of the red mist descending and an utterly stupid thing to do.
-
Films? By the way - I hope Steve Hone is banned from saying anything. I have some great memories of Bruce's riding and it was such a shame when he packed in at the height of his career. Have you looked at my webshots album as there are some black/white action photos of him on there.

More than that as your two children have dropped out haven't they? So that makes at least ten newbies. Hope we can have adjorning seats again Joanne as I can understand what you are saying a lot better now so won't be looking so blankly at you every time you speak.
