Danish Grand Prix 05/06
Gemini replied to rocketrod's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Perhaps they've been reading the comments on the forum about Nigel and decided to turn his volume down a bit? Actually I think he's fine and so is Charlie, who also seems to get some stick on here. -
Yes, with a bit of luck you may have forgotten my comment by then. By the way I didn't know you had such a good singing voice. I'm very impressed with you on Britain's Got Talent. Well done on getting through to the final on Saturday.

You'd be more annoyed if they went astray. All GP tickets these days have to be signed for, which is a good idea really in view of the unreliability of the post. (Hoping Colin Cooke doesn't see that.)

Blimey! Who has dug this thread up from 5 years ago? Got myself a bit confused then until I noticed the year was 2005.

Cheap Air Horns For Cardiff & Swc
Gemini replied to Noodles's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I don't know because I didn't have one but are you sure they weren't just checking they weren't the gas/inflammable ones which are banned? The others are okay. Best make sure which ones Wilkinson's are selling before buying. Even if they are cheap they'll be no use if you can't use them. -
Cardiff Gp Tickets 2010 Have Landed
Gemini replied to mr_smudge57's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Glad they're being delivered early because when mine arrive I want to sell them. Two £40 tickets in section N4, row 3, middle tier, between 1st and 2nd bends. Bargain at £50 for the two if anyone is interested. -

Thank you Danish Webmaster. Makes watching the G.P's so much more interesting. What would speedway fans do without a programme to mark.

Brandonapolis Is Back
Gemini replied to Beeone's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Couldn't agree more. I'd have always classed myself as a 'die hard fan' but I just couldn't be bothered with all the hassle of getting there early, standing around in the cold for hours and then being stuck in the car park after the meeting trying to get out again. My husband can't believe I chose to miss the first meeting of the season as I'm usually ultra keen but the horrible weather, plus the fact it wasn't an E.L. match, didn't fill me with enthusiasm. Judging by the comments of people who went I made the right decision. -
Brandonapolis Is Back
Gemini replied to Beeone's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Glad I made the decision not to go. I never have liked individual meetings and after getting cold and soaked while taking the dogs for a walk in the afternoon I just couldn't be bothered to make the effort. What was the attendance like? As you say - roll on next week when the real action takes place. -

If my maths is correct I make it that there will be 22 races - 20 plus a semi-final and final - so how can you class that as a rip off when the entrance fee for a normal Elite League meeting is £16? -
So I do need help then. To be honest I'll no doubt be more interested when it gets off the ground but in the meantime I'm not getting too excited. It will probably take me as long to get across to Beaumont Leys as it does to zip up the M69 to Coventry. For those ex-Leicester fans who since 1983 have not changed their support to either Long Eaton, Peterborough or Coventry it's no doubt the greatest news ever that Leicester are re-opening but as I have been supporting the Bees for the past 27 years it's not such a big deal for me. I've probably not explained myself very well but I know what I mean.
-
It is possible to completely change support to another team once your own track closes down, even in my case to the deadly rivals of the Leicester Lions. I'm now so committed to the Coventry Bees that I'm not even that bothered about Leicester re-opening....if it happens. Perhaps I should get help.

Are you saying that Policemen can't let their hair down and ride cycle speedway sometimes?

Brandonapolis Is Back
Gemini replied to Beeone's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I much prefer to watch team racing than individual meetings, but I'll be there of course. I remember the old Brandonapolis...... and The Golden Gauntlets at Leicester...... so it's good to see it has been revived. -
Cardiff Stadium Seating Plan
Gemini replied to Haywood's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If that's the reason why don't they ensure the 3rd/4th bend is full because that's the view shown most often on T.V? The first/second bend is always packed out but rarely gets shown because of the position of the cameras. -
Yummy! Never tasted fish and chips as good as those before or since. Always my first stop-off point before driving back to Leicester.
-
All sorted then. 1965 Yellow/Green Archer. 1966 Red Archer on Amber background. I like a happy ending.
-
You need ArnieG. I'll send him a PM. Sorry I don't know but as Leicester had closed in 1962(?) until 1968, who of course had Red and Gold as their colours, perhaps it was an attempt to lure their supporters over to Long Eaton? Just a guess - I'm sure Arnie will be able to help.

Classic At Newport
Gemini replied to P T Preece's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I won't repeat the post because it's long, but where on earth have you been Terry? I've been worrried sick and thought I'd overdone the last massage I gave you and you'd had a heart attack or something. I mean 3 months and no word from you. Glad you are still alive and kicking. Gawd Sandie. Don't encourage him to keep going.
