  1. Who me? I'm not picking on anyone; just saying Speedibee was referring to Jason Crump. Personally I couldn't care less who rides where.
  2. Jason Crump for one - that's why he's calling it the Jason Crump Syndrome.
  3. If you can get onto Facebook I've got a photo of Pedlar in the Hunters team. Hoping this works........
  4. Sorry for the misunderstanding packerman - it was just a joke. Jacques would no doubt rather stick pins in her eyes than support Poole. I've been to Somerset twice and love it there. I've got nothing at all against Premier League racing as long as it is racing and not just follow-the-leader stuff like at Leicester my local track. Hopefully the racing will be better this season with the changes made to the track and a different person preparing it. We'll see. Regarding perhaps seeing visiting teams 4 times in the E.L. We only got to see Poole and some others once at Coventry last season - the downside of the new system.
  5. Sorry ....forgot about you. So that's another one lost to Brandon. Not forgetting my other half who defected to Leicester when they opened again. Traitor! Also another Leicester friend who had to take early retirement so can't afford to go to both tracks now. I'm not so sure about that because I doubt if the promoters could afford to have all the 'top stars' riding over here again. And don't forget even in the days when they were all over here the attendances weren't that much higher than they are now at a lot of tracks.
  6. Can't believe Jacques hasn't spotted my comments yet. Hope she doesn't before tomorrow night or I might just be in trouble.
  7. Don't say you are moving as well? Jacques/Tim are relocating to the Somerset area and because they aren't too keen on P.L. racing will be supporting Poole. Now that will take some doing. SCB has gone back to Wales, I think 21st mostly goes to Birmingham and Wolves these days. All these fans lost to Coventry. Where are you Jacques - it's been 2 minutes already.
  8. No complaints from me about the line up. I'm not normally keen on individual meetings but I'll be going to this one. Pleased Kenni is getting a ride and I know the lady I sit with will be drooling over Seb Ulamek again because he once gave her a hug years ago.
  9. Now this is making me feel really old. I can remember Pedlar Palmer when he rode for Leicester but I'd only be 9/10 years old at the time. I can still picture his face and he had loads of hair and wore glasses. I wonder if he has any hair left now bless him. I also wonder if it was a disadvantage to wear glasses bearing in mind that now they seem to be incorporated in the goggles I believe? I didn't know his real name was Ernest so I wonder why he got the nickname Pedlar, also why he had such a short career? Questions...questions. Perhaps your friend can ask him and at the same time tell him he is remembered by a lot of older speedway fans.
  10. Don't stand for too long or I'll be feeling sorry for you. Hope you didn't mind me saying where the original thread was. There hadn't been any posts in it since September anyway.....well until tonight when someone called packerman made a few comments.
  11. Just here....... but you were right Sandie there were only a few comments. http://www.speedway-...showtopic=67145
  12. Had a reply from Adam. Yes he will be riding in 2012 and hopes to get a team place sorted out.
  13. I've sent him a message. If he replies I'll let you know.
  14. Well that's cheered me up no end and made me feel better about myself. I'm over 50 but don't want second halfs back or one off world finals and I love the play-offs.
  15. Reminds me of something. Oh yes.... the old Hokey Kokey again. Hope it's a good meeting for those who are going but I'm not interested. 1) Because it's at Swindon 2) because it's too expensive 3) because even the riders aren't really bothered these days.
  16. Who was the naughty ref then? The tapes definitely went up.
  17. I've never been to the Sixteen Lapper but one thing puzzles me. During a normal meeting if a race is stopped for a false start or a fall on the first bend all the riders toddle off back to the pits to fill up with fuel, adjust the clutch or generally mess about so how on earth does a speedway bike last for 16 laps? Is a bigger fuel tank fitted especially for this meeting?
  18. And this just about sums up why new posters can feel intimidated when they join the forum because they get jumped on straight away. No wonder some just give up and don't bother any more.
  19. That used to be really funny. I think the only way they would have stopped Andy from qualifying every year would have been to kidnap him and tie him up somewhere miles away from the track.
  20. Just got back from a few days in Norfolk and a cracking meeting at Kings Lynn on Wednesday, hence me not replying before. Yes, after Leicester closed I gradually became a Coventry supporter - not for a few years though as it was hard to transfer my support to the Lions deadly rivals. I don't know why you're bringing Coventry into it and the troubles over the Winter anyway as I have never said the racing is fantastic and I don't look at the updates about them since it seems to have been taken over by Subedei and his usual anti 'anything to do with the Bees' rants now he can't come on here. All I can say is I enjoy the majority of racing at Coventry but there have been 2 matches this season which weren't very good. I can't remember exactly which ones as I have more important things to bother about but I think they were against Swindon and Poole. I am one of those strange people who likes to see good racing rather than a runaway win so I certainly wouldn't have wasted my time going over to Brandon all these years if the racing was mostly from the gate and boring. Anyway, back to Leicester - I haven't mentioned the banks being treacherous or dangerous either so presume that was someone else's post who I haven't read yet as I'm still catching up. All I suggested was it surely wouldn't be very expensive to put some woodchip down until something more permanent is done? Perhaps you're more nimble on your feet (and younger!) than me because the last time I went I did find it hard not to slip on the mud. I want Leicester to be successful as much as anyone as I was really looking forward to having the best of both World's by being able to watch Elite and Premier League racing but the 3 matches I've watched so far don't encourage me to go regularly yet, although the other half is sticking with it because he has a season ticket.
  21. I didn't go yesterday but I too won't be going either until the racing is better because I resent paying more to get in than at Coventry to watch Elite League. If I had been sat at home for the past 28 years I'd probably feel like a lot of other Leicester fans and just be grateful to have speedway back but I've not so I expect more. I've been regularly to Brandon since 1984, also occasionally each season to Wolverhampton, Oxford, Peterborough and various other tracks when on holiday. Hopefully something will be done in the Winter to improve things but it's just a shame with a green field to work on they didn't get it right in the first place. You need sueing under the Trade Discription Act.
