  1. I think you are wrong there. Barrow boy has always stuck up for Leicester so for him to say anything negative means he must have been really cheesed off. I won't mention any names but someone else I know was being critical as well so it really must have not been a very enjoyable evening.
  2. I agree that was a great post. I disagree about Leicester fans though as I reckon Coventry's are the worst for never ending moaning and whingeing all season long, and I say that as a Bees fan.
  3. Just had a very heavy shower but now the sun is out again. The Leicester track has very good drainage so showers won't do any harm - just water the track nicely.
  4. I'd say they entertained alright - just in the wrong sort of way and much too scary for me. I don't like to be on edge all night waiting to see which rider is going to manage to complete four laps without hitting the fence. I think Vaclav Milik won overall in the scary entertainment stakes.
  5. Well, credit where it's due but I don't really know where it's due - clerk of the course or referee - but this meeting definitely started off speedily with riders being put on two minutes as soon as the previous race results had been announced. Unfortunately though the pace couldn't be kept up because some of the riders seemed to have a death wish and kept heading towards the fence or doing a pirouette before spectacularly falling off. If that was what speedway was like every week I'm afraid I wouldn't go because I'd be a nervous wreck and it has just reinforced my view that speedway riders must be completely crackers to take up the sport. Roll on Monday when I can watch the more sedate racing in the Elite League. Well done to Michael Jepsen Jensen on a 15 point maximum. Oh...and it was nice to meet Stevebrum at last, also Racers & Royals. Not surprising really the amount of rain that has fallen and still continued to fall throughout the meeting.
  6. IF they get a move on they might get through this meeting before the rain starts again, which is forecast around 10pm...depending on which forecast you read. So what's the chances of running it like a G.P. which is usually pretty quick and not like the Brandonapolis? Get the riders out for the next race within a couple of minutes of the result being announced. False start - straight round to the tapes again without returning to the pits for five minutes. It ispossible for meetings to be run smoothly but for some reason it seems to be a struggle at Coventry, so fingers crossed I am in a good mood when I get back to Leicester, which hopefully will be before midnight.
  7. No argument about the year but I'm sure the capacity is more than 5,000. I thought it was around 12,500? Mind you standing near the front of the terraces might be a bit tricky as you'd only see the helmets going by.
  8. I think he should be shut in a room with bigfatdave for a couple of hours.
  9. Apparently not. Just unscrewed the co2 canister, put a new one in and re attached the lanyard, took about a minute. The jacket deflates on it's own. or just unscrew the canister.
  10. Broken chain and a burnt out clutch. Do they count as engine failures? Steve...... things aren't always speedway related. I think he was referring to Eddie the Eagle as in downhill skiing (or whatever it's called) not Ed Kennett.
  11. Hate the joker. It should be a straight forward competition and the team getting the most points wins. Not so sure about the reserve because of what's been said about riders not having a good night pretending to have something wrong with them so a reserve can take their place, but 100% disagree with the stupid joker.
  12. He's obviously not going to say why but he must know these two riders better than any of us do and has his reasons. There's nothing like a woman scorned....or a man.....they're even worse.
  13. Now that's a challenge Wendy. You might be some time going through all his posts.
  14. Philip you should know by now that SCB is never wrong.
  15. I suppose he's trying to keep fit. He's still got it though - no 'trailing at the back' for David.
  16. Great meeting at Leicester today with some cracking racing. Shame Leicester lost 79-98 but well done to Sheffield.
  17. Ah....you've got me puzzled now. As far as I can make out it's the basic TiVo box and to watch anything on Sky it has to be through this, whereas before I could pick up Sky on a channel on the T.V. Everything is recorded direct onto this box as it has a hard drive. Thanks for trying to help and I will look at that website tomorrow as it is too late now for anything other than very simple instructions.
  18. Am I right in thinking there is no way to record a DVD from the Virgin Media TiVo box?
  19. I guess it's going to be another late night at Brandon then. Hope they get a move on with the main meeting because I do like to stay behind to watch the youngsters...even though they scare me to death.
  20. I can't understand why people who really object to the commentary don't just do that - well without the bike noise. I mean we don't normally get details of what's going on during the race when we are at a speedway meeting....unless you happen to be a Coventry fan of course.
  21. Yes that would have been us Rich - shame you didn't come and say 'Hello'. Both the dogs absolutely love cycle speedway but unfortunately we have to make sure the eldest one doesn't see the starts as for some reason she finds that really exciting. I dreaded every re-run heat.
