  1. Good post nobblytriers which just about sums up the situation. One of my pet hates is repetition so although I may agree with a lot of what Robert says I think we've all got the message now and it's just boring repeating the same things over and over again.
  2. Agree. I don't think either that a race should be called back if a rider happens to make a good start as long as he isn't rolling before the tapes go up. Some riders just have quicker reactions and some don't......Chris Harris for example.
  3. Oh dear. I thought it was only teenagers who attend speedway meetings in Summer clothes even though it's arctic. He may remember me walking by with the dog on my way to the back straight. If I'd known who it was I would have said 'Hello'.
  4. I only saw one person standing on the 3rd bend so don't tell me that was you wearing shorts whilst I had multi layers on and was still cold.
  5. I forgot to mention the 'new' announcer who seemed to blend in very well with centre green presenter Chris. I presume this will be the norm for the Bees matches as well now? I thought it worked okay and I much prefer having Chris with the roving mike.
  6. Although it looks like a very convincing win for The Storm there was actually some good racing and I enjoyed it. Shame there weren't more people there but I think the weather today put a lot off travelling. 21 miles away in Leicester we had several outbursts of torrential rain during the day which had me wondering whether to bother going, but strangely enough the Brandon track was that dry and dusty it had to be watered a couple of times. Well done to all the riders for putting on a good show.
  7. Good news. Thank you Mick Horton for listening to the fans as the majority would much prefer a 7.30pm start.
  8. It probably did because it looks like he's read it twice by the looks of the quote.
  9. Sadly I'm going to have to miss this one as I will be in Dorset. Good luck to The Storm.
  10. Okay fair enough. I've not been for a few years but was it at Cardiff where Scott Nicholls pulled up because he thought he'd seen a red light? Or perhaps as usual I'm completely wrong.
  11. Ah....got it now thanks. Sturminster Marshall......and I even get the Aussie joke as well. Took me a while though.
  12. Is there anywhere in the Poole/Bournemouth area that's likely to be showing the G.P. please?
  13. I should think so as there are usually loads of photos on Facebook afterwards. No flash or red light thingy to be used whilst racing is on though.
  14. Updates have the Leicester reserves the other way around. Which is correct anyone know?
  15. Very interesting. Would just like to say that Liontamer is definitely not Dave Howard but I think he is still one of the believers. Can't say I've ever seen anything negative from him on here and he gets quite 'uptight' with fans that do.
  16. That's why it's such a shame that a good racing track wasn't built in the first place. I've always said the track is more important than facilities and I'd be quite happy to stand on a grassy bank with no 'stands' or seating if the racing wasn't processional. Those who are critical are not just doing it for the heck of it - they truly care how this has all turned out after waiting 28 years for speedway to return to Leicester.
  17. Must admit I hide behind my programme board a few times when watching N.L. racing at Coventry as they scare me to death. I will still carry on supporting the Storm though and watch them develop over the season.
  18. I think Coventry may have the same problem as to who Adam replaces, not just Leicester. Robbo, Summers or the Pole whose name I can't spell.
  19. Track looked very wet at the beginning and some riders seemed to be having a problem getting round the 4th bend. Racing not as good as the first Storm meeting and due to several crashes it was a bit drawn out and didn't finish until 10.10pm. Still enjoyed it though and as the 4th bend was deserted apart from one person I decided to have a walk round with Lucy and watch from different places. Nice to have a chat with lucifer sam who I haven't seen for donkeys years at Oxford and meet Alan Boon for the first time. Sorry to have another moan again about all the dog poo but it really is getting disgusting on the 3rd/4th bends and I also noticed a dollop on the steps in front of the grandstand. Just not good enough in a public place and the Greyhound people should be asked to clear it all up. Edit...Hopefully it will all be gone by Bank Holiday Monday when Shadders pays his first visit to Coventry or he won't be very happy.
  20. It would be quite interesting to know how much Sky's viewing figures have dropped for speedway or how many they have lost taking out the Sports package now they no longer cover the G.P's. I've always renewed every March but I've not bothered this season because I'm not keen on just paying out to watch E.L matches.
  21. So why was it graded so much? Surely not because of the Ipswich riders? if the Leicester riders were happy with the track that's what 'home advantage' is all about.
  22. I think this needs a 'Whooooosh'. Where's Orion when he's wanted?
  23. Thank you TWK. Believe in astrology or not but I guess I get it from my 'young at heart' Gemini genes.
