My head hurts. I'm just going to forget all this and wait to see who lines up for Coventry in March.
-
Fair enough. You have always admired him but he's never been a favourite rider of mine so I definitely wouldn't go even if it was held at Coventry or up the road at my local track Leicester. A season at Brandon may just be a small point in his history but during that time I think a lot of Bees fans have decided they don't like him, or his remarks on Twitter, so unfortunately I'm afraid he's not very popular.
-
That would make a cracking team.....for the Premier League. Just beat me to it Steve.
-
Ha Ha! Hope this is just a wind up. It would be a hell of a journey for the Poole fans to get to Brandon on a Friday night because that's all who would be there, apart from perhaps a few of his 'up North' fans. I think you'll find he's not very popular with Coventry supporters so I very much doubt there would be much of a queue to get in. Gary is much better off holding his testimonial where he is highly thought of and that's Poole. I hope the weather is good and it all goes okay.

I wouldn't have thought Leicester would want to change their race night as weekend racing is always better attended, not only by the locals but neutral supporters as well. But saying that I doubt if they would be able to use Friday's if they did want to change to that night bearing in mind Coventry is only 20 miles away and quite a few fans go to both tracks so I'd guess Friday's would be out.

British Speedway Promoters Meeting
Gemini replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I could never get my two interested in speedway, in spite of being dragged around all over the country to watch it when they were small. Once they were in their teens and old enough to stay at home that's what they did. (Have you ever tried to make a teenager do something they don't want to?) I took my son, daughter-in-law and 2 granddaughters to Peterborough in the 1990's because I knew the racing was good there and they could sit in the grandstand to watch. It was a terrific match and Coventry won by one point. They enjoyed it but they've never been since. I greatly admire my friends at Coventry who go as a family with their two sons and one wife, (the other isn't too keen) plus their 5 year old grandson. -
Well, it is good news as far as the club will carry on next season. Hope everything works out okay for them but was really hoping Phil. would come to Coventry. What if we throw in Havvy and Ben in exchange?

Blimey! I hope your other half doesn't look at the forum or you might find permission has been withdrawn. -
Tell him to contact Chris Harris when he gets back.

No Chris Holder In 2014 In British League.
Gemini replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'm not disputing that it lifted but that was after his bike hit it at speed and the panel exploded. I was there and I had my glasses on actually. -

Gemini replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It didn't really lift, it exploded when his bike hit it so I don't know how that could have been avoided. The BSPA must think these air fences are okay being as they are insisting all tracks have them next season. -
According to Mick on the 'Tapes Up' programme he is. Hopefully he might change his mind.
-
N Don't think we need worry too much about that as I shouldn't think even the English riders can understand him either.

No Chris Holder In 2014 In British League.
Gemini replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No reason for him to have done that though as I think he was being rather reckless in the way he rode. How bad Coventry were all last season he could have took his time and got past any of the Bees riders over 4 laps. (Afraid I can't remember exactly who they were.) Terrible crash after he clipped Ward's wheel. -
Well, you can cross Holder off the list now. Perhaps Birmingham came unstuck because the riders weren't giving it 100% in the play offs? If you weren't being paid you wouldn't bust a gut would you? I'd forgotten about Chris being 1st reserve. Does that mean he has to be at every G.P?
-
Or Kenneth Bjerre please. Don't really want him signing for Coventry as he always goes missing at play-off time and Bees are going to be in the play-offs next season aren't they?
-
Interesting. King is a rider I have always liked and he seems to be popular at Coventry. Fingers crossed then.
-
Me too....if it is true. With his past record I can't imagine why any team in the British League would sign him.
-
Is that official? If it is then I'm very disappointed and suspect I won't be the only one.

Shouldn't think his hand is up to much either after his dog had a go at it. -

Sorry I shouldn't laugh but that is really funny so I will. Not to worry I'm sure any fans that want to criticise can find him on Twitter. -
British Speedway Promoters Meeting
Gemini replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Personally I'm hoping Sky don't re-new their deal because this might just be the 'kick up the backside' the promoters need to do something drastic about the sport instead of plodding on for another season losing more fans. I'm probably being selfish though because I dropped Sky Sports this year trying to cut down so it doesn't really affect me, although judging by comments through the season about the matches I didn't miss much. -
British Final 2014
Gemini replied to Julie Browne's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I wish I could remember specific races and the actual years but there are only a few things I can recall and even then I wouldn't have a clue what year it was. -
British Final 2014
Gemini replied to Julie Browne's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Loved the British Finals at Coventry, especially the one that Martin Dugard won as my friends couldn't stand him. I can't remember any years but there was one that was rained off twice and it was third time lucky in the end. I can also recall having to leave the car near the beginning of the road to the stadium as the traffic just wasn't moving. We walked the whole length of that road with two small children. No wonder they have grown up not liking speedway. -
Wasn't Scott having a lot of personal problems in 2011 when he rode for Swindon as Sophie was going through a rough time? I know it shouldn't have affected his speedway form but I'm sure it probably did so I have more sympathy for him than some Robins fans. I was also quite surprised he signed for Swindon as it never seemed to be one of his favourite tracks and he often struggled there when riding for Coventry.
