So Glyn didn't return to Australia for the Winter? I bet he's really glad he stayed over here with our lovely weather. Does sound encouraging if they can actually work on the track. I think they've been trying at Coventry since December but it's still flooded.

I've got a photo in one of my Facebook Speedway albums of John Davis demolishing a post as well at Swindon but I think this would have been in the 1980's. Seems the posts get in the way quite a bit on the Robins track.

It's one way to make sure you get on the tele though when Sky are in town. Oooooh. Colin Cook. One of my all time favourite Leicester riders, purely for his style of riding though. That's why I like Simon Stead as well, although Simon also has the added attraction of always coming round on a victory lap which was appreciated at Coventry when most of the riders just went straight back to the pits and sod the fans. P.S. I like you - you've got a sense of humour Shirl.

I've got three more wishes. 1] That they get a move on and have less tractor racing because we've come to watch Speedway not endless laps by the tractor. 2] No damn sun breaks to hold things up even more. Okay I know that's probably impossible to achieve but surely in this day and age there must be some way of hiding the sun? A removable 60ft high black plastic shield? I wouldn't mind helping to stick all the dustbin bags together. 3] Absolutely NO returning to the pits after a false start. I'm not really into statistics like you are so don't understand the criteria applying to Simon Stead. He is a Swindon asset not Sheffield so why do the Tigers get priority? Because he signed for them first?

I am SO liking the signing of Simon Stead who is one of my favourite riders and I am getting very interested now Leicester are in the Elite League. I had better start putting some more coins in the money box as it seems as if it's going to be quite an expensive season if I'm supporting Coventry and Leicester, but I'm just going to ignore the other half and if I want to go to both tracks then I will do. (Where's the 'Determined' smiley? )

Who Was The Most Frustrating Rider?

A bit like Lewis Bridger then? -
Some what? You were on a roll there so don't stop mid sentence.

True. I can't remember ever hearing Peter York's dulcet tones on T.V. when the Sky cameras visit Coventry. Anyway, what has Chris done wrong now? Why was it a terrible interview?
-
I don't think we need to bother about this too much as the total is still £120. No doubt quite a lot of us have a favourite charity who we give to now and again like I do. Speedway fans aren't daft and I wouldn't class The Chris Harris G.P. Fund as one that deserves much input.

Damn! You beat me to that one. I wouldn't even say 'rode like a world beater one day and a muppet the next' as Finn could manage this feat during the same meeting. 3 - 0 - 3 - 0. I so dislike riders like that and would much rather support one who gets four 3rd places, or even four lasts as long as they were trying their best. I suppose a more up to date version would be Krystof Kasprzak. So annoying if he didn't gate or wasn't in the mood - which was often last season for Coventry. -
I know a person 'tweets' on Twitter but what on earth is a 'retweet'? Just recycling the same comment? Good job I don't bother with Twitter then because repetitions would drive me mad. Imagine what it would be like on here with members saying the same thing over and over again. We just don't do it do we? Okay fair enough. I suppose it can be done if the person uses the time off as part of their holiday entitlement. Not for me though 'cos if I was going to see a Poole v Coventry meeting I'd want to stay for the week after travelling all that way. In the past I have regularly gone to Bees away meetings at Oxford, Peterborough and Wolverhampton on my own, with the dog for company, but 70 miles to Cowley has about been my limit.

Can't blame him changing his name from 'Poole' to 'Colonel' though surely? He must have realised it was a pretty daft idea.

I'm sure you really know already but we're not allowed to mention the connection on the forum so you'll have to keep guessing. -

It's just SCB reading things that aren't being said again. That 'I Was Wrong' T-Shirt must be worn out by now. -
Yes, but what about this year? That's the problem.

Move him where? Strangely enough I would probably have put Greg on my list as well. I don't think he is as "nice" as he comes across and he certainly bears grudges as he wouldn't ride for Coventry again after being dropped in favour of Billy Hamill when we had to release one of them. I don't think he's ever forgiven Colin Pratt for that decision. However, as a fellow Gemini who also bears grudges I can understand his reaction. -

Are we just restricted to one? I've got a list. Ole Olsen. Hated him when I used to support Leicester. Brian Andersen. I've never forgiven him for not shutting off and letting Shaun Tacey get a maximum when they were on a 5-1 in his last ride. Hans Andersen. Just never really liked him and he's always rolling at the tapes. However, this opinion is subject to change now he's a Coventry rider. Gary Havelock. Never liked him either and the feeling hasn't changed even though he is supposed to be connected to the Bees now. I can't understand a word he says either so the riders he is managing must be cleverer than me. Nicki Pedersen. Well, he's just crackers and doesn't care what he does on the track as long as he wins. He hit the jackpot one night at Brandon by taking not just one, but two Coventry riders off in one swoop. There's more riders on my 'hate' list but I'd better stop now. -
Don't want to disagree but I'm sure the question involved the Craven Shield not the Young Trophy. For some strange reason Chris sorted it out via Sheffield but I've forgotten what the connection was. Edited to put the quote in as we're now on another page.

Yes, that's one of the ones I've got. If you're on Facebook anyone that wants to can see the others. Just keep scrolling. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150145328422785&set=a.10150144289657785.323814.550797784&type=3&theater
