  1. Can't be bothered to write very much because it's all been said already. Absolute shambles in front of the biggest crowd I've ever seen for a N.L. meeting. Don't mind us fans standing around in the freezing cold not knowing what's going on for ages. Oh well...at least it's made me change my mind about going to the Leicester v Peterborough match tomorrow - I'll be stopping at home in the warm.
  2. Where's GeneralPatton gone though? Looks like I wasted my time.
  3. Grrrr!! Chris Harris is so frustrating. It's usually about June when he finally sorts his machines out. Hopefully now he's back with the Bees it will be a bit sooner.
  4. Imperial Echoes I think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nefzhgakAQM
  5. Have to agree with that. I always enjoy my visits to Peterborough. Great track, music, announcers, and dogs welcome. What more could I ask for, apart from a nice motorway leading there from Leicester.
  6. Coventry and Leicester always used to be deadly rivals. That battle can now commence again this season after 30 years.
  7. Afraid it's got worse as he thinks Speedway would be okay if each race was just one lap not four as once the riders are past the first bend there are no passes and it's boring. Where have I gone wrong?
  8. I don't think there's anything wrong with birthday shout outs either. When my son was little he could take his pick which rider he'd like to do a lap of the track with at a Leicester v Coventry meeting. Why on earth he picked Ole Olsen I don't know. The lad had no taste back then.
  9. Many thanks for that list. I can't watch Sky Sports anymore as I haven't renewed the subscription, preferring instead to use the money for attending meetings, but I do have Eurovision via Virgin Media. All I need now is a way to stop the dog hogging the T.V. screen whenever speedway or ice speedway is on as she is a pain in the neck.
  10. Is it the same track curator at Wolves or is it a different one being as you're saying the track isn't producing such good racing anymore?
  11. I believe it's somewhere around the 12,000 mark. I don't think we need worry though about getting even half of that.
  12. I think we're all pretty much agreed on that. Used to really annoy me at Coventry when someone used to run to open the air fence section after a false start and it's quite a way to the pits at Brandon so an even longer delay. I must say though that last season it happened very rarely so hopefully it will be the same this year.
  13. I remember watching them at Weymouth. Great fun. Not sure that would be on SCB's list of things to liven up speedway evenings though.
  14. Move on? You've got to be joking. There is a new season ahead with lots of fans supporting different teams who have probably never visited Leicester before and will no doubt be giving their opinion afterwards so if you're going to find that boring you had perhaps be best to not look at any threads about Leicester matches. I've no axe to grind and it has been interesting to read the differing viewpoints from fans who are not regulars, as well as those who are. Anyway I am going to give it a go again and hope the racing will improve with the supposedly better quality E.L. riders proving it's not the track at fault. If it doesn't then I won't waste my money.
  15. Has SCB gone to bed already? I was expecting his usual reply that plenty of dirt does not necessarily mean better racing because the riders and bikes can't handle it.
  16. Blimey what does that word mean? I can't find it in my dictionary but I like to learn new words for future use so I can come across as intelligent.
  17. I'll say one thing for Birmingham they do try hard to get people to attend with low admission prices. £10 is really good and I hope the place is packed out. Pity the BSPA don't come down to earth and realise that £25 for the televised ERC is too much.

  19. Sad to say that I agree with speedibee and if Brandon goes then I don't think they could get somewhere else within 3 years so the end of the road for speedway in Coventry. The stadium may be run down but it still has a lot of history and compared to other tracks and their facilities it's one of the better ones. Would be a tragedy for it to disappear.
  20. I'm glad you didn't just stop there but went on to be a bit more sympathetic because nothing annoys me more than Leicester fans being pleased at the demise of Coventry. As Speedway fans we shouldn't want to see the loss of any track, particularly a Midlands one. The closure of the Blackbird Road Stadium, and I had been a fan since 1949, was heartbreaking but Charles Ochiltree only played a minor role and it wasn't him that decided Leicester had to go but the directors of Midland Sports Stadiums. Consequently it really irritates me that some fans bear a grudge all these years later when it has been nothing to do with the last three promotions at Brandon. The whole thing seemed a bit strange to me but Martin Rogers has stated he knew nothing about it so I've got to believe him. That final meeting just fizzled out with no 'Goodbyes, see you next season' from the riders, which always previously happened. Was there even a fireworks display? I can't remember if there was but it was a very unusual end to the season.
  21. Brilliant news and 15 years is an amazing record. Coventry must be doing something right. Perhaps Mick should have a word with the Leicester promoter who seems to lose his sponsors pretty quickly.
  22. Ooooh! I would have got 100% in that round. Tuesday is a bit difficult because Ray plays badminton on that night so has the car.
