  1. But hopefully not next Friday and Saturday.
  2. I think we're all pretty much agreed on that....except the lad himself.
  3. Those were the days, also riders travelling around with a bike strapped to the back of a car. Nowadays it seems as if young riders want everything right from the start and must have 'International Speedway Rider' emblazoned on the sides of their latest model van.
  4. Starman have you been speed reading again? I think the clue might be in the previous posts. No he's not serious.
  5. Same here but the sun is trying to show an appearance so I don't think there is anything to worry about, but it's going to be cold so wrap up warm.
  6. No it wouldn't, as long as you got the right person. I was with a Border Collie but there were a few others there as well that I saw on my travels - Taffy who belongs to Rory Schlien, Edward the Golden Retriever, a Staffie and a Brown Mastiff type. Shame we didn't get to meet but hopefully there will be another time. We'll no doubt be coming to Kings Lynn sometime too this season because they allow dogs. Glad you enjoyed your visit and I'm sure the result. What's changed is no Chris Simpson. Agree about the presentation though with all the silent pauses - not good. I don't know what the idea is with the National Anthem after all these years but I'm not standing up anyway.
  7. I must be getting immune and able to completely ignore everything because I never heard him say that. He is getting on a bit now though so you have to make allowances. Bet you're glad you went in the end.
  8. Agree with you. I really enjoyed this meeting even though Bees lost. The track looked very slick and dry but still produced some really good racing. Even watching the tractor go round was entertaining, seeing all the sparks - must have been those lorry loads of stones that have been mixed in with the shale. Congratulations to King Lynn on their victory. Well he would say that wouldn't he?
  9. That was nice of them sending you a personal email. Credit where it's due. I'll no doubt be having a walk round with the dog before the meeting starts so if you spot me please say 'hello'. She doesn't bite......I do though if provoked.
  10. Probably going the usual way of the Brits - with one or two exceptions - reach a certain level, stagnate and then go backwards into oblivion.
  11. Stevebrum has been banned in the past? Well I never.
  12. Neil is the best one to answer that as I live in Leicester so can't just pop into Brandon to see what it's like but there is no reason, apart from it chucking it down with rain tomorrow, why it should be called off. Hey steady on I don't want to be the one to make you lose loads of money.
  13. It's not the same though is it watching on a tiny screen with a chap on one camera following the leading riders. If it was on Sky I could understand you not travelling but not staying at home to watch on bet365 when there's a good chance your team will win pretty easily. There's also no reason why the track shouldn't be in good condition as they've had all week to sort it out since the Stock Cars. I think lessons have been learnt and it won't happen again. Yes you have to join to watch and it costs £5. So easy that even I managed it and I don't bet either. You can even join via the forum if you go to the Speedway Betting thread as there is a link at the top. When you've joined you just log in (remember your name and password!) click on 'live streaming' and speedway, find the match then off you go.
  14. Well done Brummies. That result should cheer the fans up a bit.
  15. I seem to remember Chris Holder making one of these in a desperate attempt to catch up with his mate Darcy Ward at Coventry last year. Dangerous move which saw him clip the back of Darcy's machine and go out of control into the fence. In this case it was Holder who got injured but it could so easily have been Ward as well. Stupid move so early in the race when he could have bided his time and beaten the two Coventry riders anyway.
  16. I've always liked Simon Stead but I don't think Leicester is the kind of track he will ride well as he is more of a racer than gater. Hoping to be proved wrong though.
  17. I should think so but hopefully he will leave those bikes there.
  18. That was pretty scary. I'm sure he's been advised now that it was rather unwise.
  19. Thanks for the answer - not what I was expecting though. Not a youngster then. I just go by the style of riding and I liked his.
  20. Can't say I really enjoyed it because mostly the Storm riders were gating first and off they went. Hope there were no newcomers to National League racing there tonight because it's normally so much better than that. Was impressed with Steve Jones style of riding for Scunthorpe, also Danno Verge although I'd never previously heard of either of them. What nationality is Danno? The track looked good - that's the main thing - but whether it still will do after the Stock Cars tomorrow is another matter.
