  1. Yes he did so don't be so quick to judge who is a good supporter and who isn't. He's been to the majority of meetings at Leicester but got a bit cheesed off at the Wolves one as it was so cold standing around and the racing was pretty much follow-the-leader. He went to Coventry to support the Lions last night (a very rare visit) and was really cold again so decided he wasn't going tonight. Perhaps you feel the cold more as you get older. Poor chap will be 70 on Tuesday. Regarding the parking.....yes if you get there really early you can use the stadium car park but someone I know got there at 6pm for the Wolves match and it was full. You're then faced with a 4 hour limit in the shopping centre one, which is cutting it a bit fine when the meeting doesn't even start until 7.30pm. Mr Gemini is actually Summit on here if you want to look him up so no he is not. Ray looks at the forum but would probably take a couple of hours with one finger to post anything so he doesn't bother......a bit like tonight.
  2. And if they don't? Can't see them getting within 10 points myself, especially now Skornicki is riding. By the way what exactly did Hougaard do to end up hitting the fence? None of our group saw it as I think we were all concentrating on watching Bomber's first ride of the night. Just seen mdmc82's post that Hansen is out as well so that's that then, probably lose by 15 or more. One of Steve Davis's? Good idea - arrive early and then risk getting a fine for staying over 4 hours in the shopping centre car park. There will probably be a bigger crowd than usual but very much doubt if it will be anywhere near Coventry's attendance last night. Even the other half is not bothering and he is a Leicester regular.
  3. Well we know why that is don't we? No Chris Simpson. The promotion do the right thing in getting Dave Hammond back again as the announcer then ruin everything by returning to how the presentation was twenty years ago with the national anthem and poor music. Well done to the Lions on keeping the scores close and earning a bonus point. Not the best racing but at least there were a few passes to keep things interesting on a very cold evening.
  4. Oh gawd! What's the hold up? Are Neil and Mick both there as well? Questions, questions. lol.
  5. Thanks. Blimey! Never heard of him. Hope he can gate.
  6. Grachan..............................“It all goes back to the change of ownership of Coventry Speedway last year which automatically cancelled our visas. “I went to take care of it and my own visa got sorted, but it turns out those for my wife and kids didn’t. "They were technically here for six months illegally even though we didn’t have any knowledge of it. “There is now a 12-month ban for over-staying so they cannot apply again until next January. I understand they want to tighten the borders up, but this makes no sense. “We have a business here, we employ six British citizens and pay all our tax and national insurance. We always do everything the right way, but my family are not currently allowed back in to the country to do it.
  7. Me too but more for the fact I was sitting on the top deck when it got damaged by branches from trees on route. Pretty scary! No M69 in those days but I can't remember exactly where the incident happened. Where is Simon? I was looking forward to watching him as he's one of my favourite riders.
  8. But why spoil it for everyone else? I realise I've probably got a warped sense of humour but I find most of the posts amusing. Just put him/her on ignore. There are only about 6 names so it's not that difficult.
  9. <signature too long> Is that why you're using initials for the riders? I get the first two but who's FTG?
  10. Yes, you could very well be right TWK. I was forgetting all the bikes riders seem to have nowadays.
  11. I'll join in then. I reckon Coventry will struggle and Leicester will easily get a point out of this match. Bees will also be lucky to reach 40 points at Beaumont Park. There's my two predictions but this thread has plenty of life in it yet - watch this space on Saturday morning after the match.
  12. Blimey! Hope the Belle Vue meeting runs smoothly and there are no hold ups on the M6. A.A. reckon over 4 hours to make that journey.
  13. I hear that all the time from fliss44. Personally I don't know what she sees in him.
  14. Fisher is a Coventry asset so presumably that's where he will ride.
  15. Are you supposed to be 'outing' people on here? At least I was trying to be diplomatic.
  16. Yes I must admit it does make me feel good as an old lady to be able to grasp things a lot quicker than some younger members on here. Mind you some of them make it easy to do as they continually get the wrong end of the stick and show themselves up.
  17. And how do you know he's not a member of the promoting team, manager, a rider or was in the pits that night? Quite a few promoters and riders are on here but try to keep their identity under wraps, which they are fully entitled to do.
  18. Remember what they were? I've still got some 78's.
  19. My goodness you're certainly cracking up and making more errors than usual lately. Even I know that Dick is his name with a capital 'D' notice, not a 'd'. Do you really think Neil would lower himself to be abusive like some on here? I don't think so. Also even I could understand what he wrote about the rules for a guest so it's a shame others don't read posts properly before jumping in.
  20. Good post GRW123. Although we lost I thought there was some excellent racing. Mind you if captain Chris Harris says over the mike the track is crap (or words to that effect) then it must be. Really? Just shows you can't please everyone as I've always liked Craig Saul.
  21. Being as it's all down to Sandhu (allegedly) and Mick has no say how the track is prepared for speedway I would imagine Sandhu was more interested in getting it ready for stock cars the following day. I wouldn't have thought they'd have to do anything except remove the air fence and it's all set to go.
