Kings Lynn 'stars' Vs Coventry 'bees' Thurs 29/05/14

Not only that but we also had Chris Simpson on the roving mike so he was chatting as well and letting us know what was happening during the delay. I find Speedway fans will usually be happy to socialise too whether you know them or not as I made a new friend last night on the 4th bend. He was on his own and I thought he was a Birmingham fan but as it turned out he was a Bomber fan so supported both teams. By the way lone males at Coventry - no need to worry as I'm only trying to be friendly. -

That's correct Jacques - there were loads of interviews tonight, including during the break while the two air fence panels were being replaced. In fact I was thinking whilst there that the promotion have got it spot on now the Simpsons are back with Peter doing interviews, although he was a bit of a pain in the neck not finishing the Doug Wyer one before the race started so Chris had to talk over him. -
We're not likely to be told why but rumour has it that his Polish club aren't keen and presumably riders will not want to upset them because that's where the high money is. Looks like that's the reason why Birmingham's new Pole is not riding tonight either.

I was only watching on the small screen of Bet365 but even I could see it was Garrity who initially caused the 'concertina' effect so if anyone should have been excluded it ought to have been him. But saying that does the referee have to exclude someone like you have said? I thought I read somewhere this is actually not a rule. -
Really? We're expected to believe that? It will be interesting to see how long he lasts once Poole are winning and up near the top of the table.

Oh great! I hope it chucks it down all day and everywhere is knee deep in mud. -
Coventry V Birmingham 26th May 2014
Gemini replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I can never understand why the riders bother to practice anyway. How often is it said the track on G.P. day is completely different to how it was for the practice? At a guess almost 100%. -
Yes, you are right for once. If enough teams beat Poole they won't actually even get to the play offs.
-
Sounds a good idea but what about gate positions? Even when it's just one rider starting from 15 mtrs back he has to have the outside gate so confusion could reign.

Speak for yourself. Nothing about Darcy Ward makes me anticipate anything, happy or otherwise.

Coventry V Birmingham 26th May 2014

What a shame. Not often the Coventry promoters will get chance to put a nice 'Z' in the team's alphabetical order list. -
I know we sometimes complain about meetings being called off early and then it's dry all afternoon and evening, but in this case the decision was fully justified. Although it was indeed lovely all afternoon there was an almighty downpour around 6 o'clock that would have put paid to any plans to run the meeting.

Plymouth 55 - Scunthorpe 40. -
If only you had gone to the Swindon Stadium to help out I'm sure the meeting would have been held. Missed your chance there to show everyone how easy it is to get rid of all the water. http://www.swindonrobins.co/news.php?extend.2206

Louise who works at the stadium has said on the Facebook Bees page.

It's off.

Watch this space then. I'm lucky I suppose that I don't have to leave until 6.30pm so hopefully a decision will have been made by then.

How can weather forecasts be so different? The one I've just seen on Facebook shows no rain at all, unless she's got the one for Brandon in Suffolk by mistake.
