Not really odd at all because they don't have the same name. One is called 'Speedway Friends, Riders, Fans & Veterans' and the other 'Speedway Friends'.

Well, when you've got a moment to spare SCB can you finish off your signature because I'm intrigued now what I don't understand. Small minds have always lashed out and what they don't understand.

Especially if it is a rider from a team fighting for a place in the play-offs helping a rival team. Makes the whole guest rider thing a mockery. Oh.....wait a minute.....it is anyway.

Coventry Vs Kings Lynn now Sept 4th - Empty Stadium ?
Gemini replied to markyb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
At least the title is right now September 4th - empty stadium. Not quite empty though as I would guess a crowd of about 600/700 so I hope the promoters are happy with that. -

Yes, I bet it will. Not just the BSF but Facebook and Twitter as well. -

You'll be lucky if you get a straight answer because there is NO logical reason. I wonder who it is on the management team that wants to attend the football? I've completely lost interest now and couldn't care less what happens. -

And I was really looking forward to meeting you for the first time but the fact you have booked a hotel doesn't matter to our promoters. Everything has to be disrupted because of damn football. -
The one and a half hours was the time Speedibee said it took to get back from Scunthorpe to Hinckley after his son was riding the night we were there. I'm not sure how often he broke the speed limit.

I think the answer to both your first questions is 'No' so I'm more inclined to think that you're right that someone within the club doesn't want to miss the football. It also makes me think that the Bees promotion can't really be that bothered about reaching the play offs or why else would they change the match from a night when for once we have a full team (doesn't happen very often) to one where riders are missing again and we're likely to lose more points. I don't very often get cheesed off and in the past have stuck up for Mick Horton when it seemed as if he could do nothing right with some fans but this has really irritated me as there has been no consideration given to Bees or Kings Lynn supporters, some of whom have booked to stay overnight. So which websites were these because I didn't see anything and I check the Bees sites every night, unless you mean Twitter? Can't be doing with that. -
One and a half hours unless the sat nav sends you a strange way on A roads in the dark so you have to turn round and go back to Scunthorpe again to pick up the M180 and M1.

I'm not sure you are keeping up with this thread? Don't bother turning up on the 5th because you will be the only fan there and you won't be cheering on anybody. -

Your post sums up my feelings. I think this decision is pathetic and there will be far less people there on Thursday so what's the point? I was going on Friday with my husband on the way back from North Devon but am certainly not returning on Thursday so that's two less and I'm sure there are many more. What about the Kings Lynn fans too? Don't they deserve some consideration as I know some have booked to stay over on Friday night. Diabolical. You're joking. I might be daft but I'm not that daft. Like Bananaman I think there's something strange about all this and football is not the real reason for the change. I can't believe after all the hard work Mick Horton has put in to get the majority of fans on his side at last that he would do something this stupid to upset so many. Sod the football - let those who want to go do just that and let the rest of us enjoy watching the Bees v Stars on our usual night. -
My post was in no way a criticism of the Updates site which is invaluable to us fans and I appreciate all the time and effort put in by both texters and updaters. Plus you of course Sue. I realise the teams are perhaps going to be a bit different so if I choose to print my programme based on the Updates, if riders are in the wrong order that's too bad and doesn't really bother me as I just alter them when I get there. It's just a bit irritating that this season some promoters aren't releasing the teams in riding order but I understand the reason why. It won't work in my case though because I'm still not going to buy a programme I'm going to throw away as soon as I get home and that money will go towards my petrol.

You're a very strange Bees fan. If you're on a wind up it's usual to do it against a rival team not your own. Think you need to take lessons off Steve Shovlar or Starman. Anyway, I'll be coming back off my hols early so I will be there and I'm sure plenty of others will be too as Coventry chase a play off place. -
Because 30 minutes before the meeting we are already there so it's too late. If only promoters would stop deliberately trying to confuse fans by releasing the teams in alphabetical order so they can't print their own programme there wouldn't be this problem every match. Alternatively cut down on the adverts and other unnecessary fillers and sell a programme for £1 like Scunthorpe manage to do. I'd buy one then. Anyway it gave me something to do at Coventry tonight during all the track grading. King instead of Watt at 1, Watt instead of King at 3, reserve switch - Perry 6, Morley 7. Reserve switch for Bees - Sarjeant at 6 and Garrity at 7. My programme looked lovely.

The only thing I've lost enthusiasm for is Christmas. It comes round far too quickly and starts sometime during September. Bah humbug!

No it wasn't. I much prefer being the age I am now. No mortgage, no work, children grown up, please myself how I spend every day and what time I get up in the morning. In particular I'd hate to be in my teens again as that wasn't the most enjoyable time, although I suppose it should have been. Life was good when the children were small but that's it. So no I don't agree that 'everything in life seemed better when I was younger' and that includes Speedway.
