Ha Ha. You'll love him.

How about Kasprzak? He's just about running out of teams to ride for now.

R.I.P Peter. Brilliant rider never forgotten.

What happened to Lewis Bridger? Couldn't he find Leicester?

Yes I do as well but I've given up over the years and now prefer my dogs as they are much nicer than the majority of humans. -

True. Even his dog didn't like him and they've usually got good taste. -
Message To The Leicester Promotor
Gemini replied to robert72's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Here you go. Please note that once the stadium car park is full, we will direct cars to our overflow parking that is available on Boston Road and Sheene Road. There are several footpaths from these two streets to the stadium, and the way will be clearly signposted for your guidance. -
I'm even older than TWK and have been following speedway for 64 years. At the moment I am feeling quite pleased with myself because I agree with all your posts, which must mean that I have moved with the times. I don't think speedway racing is any different in 2013 as it was when I first started watching - there are some exciting races and some pretty boring ones, just like it has always been. I agree with having play-offs and much prefer the way the World Champion has to go through a series of meetings rather than just a one off final. A lot of fans still seem to rave about the 1981 World Final at Wembley but if you watch it back it wasn't that spectacular, apart from the races with Bruce Penhall in. I'm convinced a lot of older fans look back with 'rose coloured glasses' and think everything - not just speedway - was better in the past. The only thing I've not kept up with is a modern mobile phone with access to the internet because I would have known Coventry were riding last night on what was previously a blank date when I left for North Wales a week ago. Gutted I missed the last league match.

Coventry Storm V Dudley --aug 30th 7.30
Gemini replied to Main Man's topic in National League Speedway
Can't answer that question but friends I sit with (E.L. matches) have often commented about the track being graded so wide when the only one we've ever seen go that far out is Joonas Kylmakorpi. He's great to watch around Brandon. -

I don't think we are. We're quite used to defeat at Coventry. As long as the lads try their best that's all we ask for, something that hasn't always happened with the E.L. team this season. -
Must admit I used to do that but this season I've gone a bit further and cut out the whole lot as I'm not paying £25 a month just to watch E.L. racing. Can't say I have missed it.

Will have to miss this one as I'll be away so good luck to The Storm. Presuming there is no meeting at all now on September 6th, E.L. or otherwise? -
Brilliant! Imagine a few Steve Shovlar's in the Poole grandstand.

Two blankets washed and drying on the line ready for tonight at Peterborough, although to be fair they are for the dogs. I do have standards and wouldn't let them lie down on anything that is not in pristine condition. I'm so lucky as well because no chair needed at the Showground. Oh.....and I don't take sugar thanks. Hope the racing is good and Coventry put up some sort of fight.

Well, I know what I am - E. Rolling in money though like all pensioners, according to SCB, so the only thing I've got to worry about is waking up safely every morning.

Every time I see Greg Hancock on T.V. he reminds me more and more of Norman Wisdom. Don't know if that counts but I do find it amusing. Probably it's just me that can see the likeness and I need to put my glasses on.

Coventry Storm V Kings Lynn - Friday 16th August

Thanks for clearing that up screamer. Must admit I always thought Tourrettes was just swearing so I've learned something new. Bless him. I hope he does well with his speedway career. -

Thanks for the answer. It just seems a strange thing to do because it must make his vision blurred if he keeps shaking his head. I thought at first it just happened prior to a race but I've seen him do it at the tapes and during a race as well. -

Yes, it was a shame the T.R. was against Kings Lynn's top rider Lambert as barring a miracle Coventry weren't going to get much out of it. I don't know quite what to make of Knuckey as he seems to struggle with the Brandon track and frequently locks up. I greatly admire James Shanes but he is a little out of his depth in the N.L. at the moment. I don't want to be rude so this question is asked with respect but does anyone know why Ryan Terry Daley keeps shaking his head? I first noticed this at Leicester a few weeks ago and then again last night. Is there something wrong with him or is it just a nervous habit? -
King's Lynn Young Stars V Kent Kings, Nat Lge, 14/08/2013
Gemini replied to a topic in National League Speedway
Pleased to say you WERE proved wrong as Joe managed to beat him in heat 1. That was the only time an opposition rider headed him though. First time I've seen Robert ride and he's got a great style. -

Gemini replied to NeilWatson's topic in National League Speedway
Unfortunately they didn't. Good match though and it doesn't hurt half so much as when the Bees lose. It's nice to just sit back and enjoy the racing. I can see now why everyone is raving about Robert Lambert although Joe did manage to beat him in heat 1. Hope Luke is okay as he had a couple of nasty falls. Well done to Kings Lynn. -
Redcar Bears Vs Leicester Lions 15/8/2013
Gemini replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Bet you wished you'd gone now. I know the feeling though as there's nothing worse than deciding whether it's worth risking the journey when the weather is dodgy. Sod's Law it will be on if you don't go and it's even worse when you don't go and your team win. -
Lucky you - I'm banned. Other half reckons it's too expensive for me to go to Coventry and Leicester as well. Was quite getting into it too as the last 3 meetings were pretty good (Somerset, Newcastle and Sheffield) so I had to miss the Scunthorpe one last week and of course Rye House this week, although he didn't manage to get through the football traffic anyway so he came home. Shame.

Fair enough then - it was obviously a good idea to alter the start time. Leicester may get a lot of criticism about the track but everyone always says how welcoming the staff are. Glad you enjoyed your visit Shadders and a good result for you as well.
