Only when it crops up though surely as a lot of matches are run without any being used at all? If I was trying to encourage someone to give speedway a try I wouldn't be telling them all the so called bad points. Get them there first and if a T.R. is used explain it then. Anyway, all irrelevant really because I think this story is just like one of those Facebook hoaxes that some people believe are true.

British Speedway Promoters Meeting
Gemini replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I could never get my two interested in speedway, in spite of being dragged around all over the country to watch it when they were small. Once they were in their teens and old enough to stay at home that's what they did. (Have you ever tried to make a teenager do something they don't want to?) I took my son, daughter-in-law and 2 granddaughters to Peterborough in the 1990's because I knew the racing was good there and they could sit in the grandstand to watch. It was a terrific match and Coventry won by one point. They enjoyed it but they've never been since. I greatly admire my friends at Coventry who go as a family with their two sons and one wife, (the other isn't too keen) plus their 5 year old grandson. -
Big Fat 40... Help On Which Gp To Do.

Blimey! I hope your other half doesn't look at the forum or you might find permission has been withdrawn. -
Team Gb - Middlo Quits!

Shouldn't think his hand is up to much either after his dog had a go at it. -

Sorry I shouldn't laugh but that is really funny so I will. Not to worry I'm sure any fans that want to criticise can find him on Twitter. -
British Speedway Promoters Meeting
Gemini replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Personally I'm hoping Sky don't re-new their deal because this might just be the 'kick up the backside' the promoters need to do something drastic about the sport instead of plodding on for another season losing more fans. I'm probably being selfish though because I dropped Sky Sports this year trying to cut down so it doesn't really affect me, although judging by comments through the season about the matches I didn't miss much. -
Have you tried Leicester? They have training days and would be a lot nearer than Scunthorpe.

Tactical Substitutes - Thinking 'out Of The Box'!
Gemini replied to a topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Many thanks. I wasn't even going to bother reading that post but you made it possible. Still think it's a daft idea though. Back to the drawing board. -
Oh well if we are splitting hairs he hasn't actually got one. I just presumed someone with the name Panthers89 was a Peterborough fan as it's quite a good clue as to who he/she supports. By the way there is no dispute - I don't do disputes - so I'm quite happy for you to win.
-
If that team fits the points limit that would suit me, although where was Chris Mills riding this season?
-
Do you not get to see the name Panthers89?
-
Do not have permission to view.

Panthers89.......I suppose I'm more quick on the uptake because by your avatar I know which track you're referring to. I love everything about Peterborough, although must admit I don't often buy any food or go in the bar so can't comment on them. The track is brilliant and the car park the same, since we don't have to drive onto grass now and get stuck if it's muddy. Just build a motorway to the Showground instead of the horrible A47 and I'd be there every week.

I reckon it's KKS with yet another alias. -
Message To The Leicester Promotor
Gemini replied to robert72's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well, the last sentence is true anyway. You would have to be a 'true loyal Lions fan' to think that was the best meeting you could have seen on any track in any country in the world. I'm still not sure if you're being serious but I'll bite. Credit to the track staff though for getting the meeting on. -
The Darren & Sharon Boocock Speedway Scholarship.
Gemini replied to marcusthepom's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
By beneficiaries do you mean the riders who were due to go? If so it was Richie and Steve Worrall, Kyle Newman, Ashley Morris, Tom Perry, Matt Williamson, Dan Greenwood and Hayden Sims. -
No Sky Speedway = A New Opportunity
Gemini replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Me too Sue but did you know there is a cracking updates site so you can still find out what's going on even if you're not watching the match? Many thanks to the texters and updaters who do a brilliant job. -
Pearson Defends The Play-off... Desperate
Gemini replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Oh I don't know. 2010 was pretty good as well. The fighting Bees beating league leaders Poole home and away, Chris Harris being run over by his team mate then miraculously getting up and winning the re-run of the race. I wouldn't say any of that 2nd leg was 'rubbish'. -
Pearson Defends The Play-off... Desperate
Gemini replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Can't say I've missed watching it after I didn't start my Sky Sports subscription as usual in March. Would have quite liked to have seen the play-offs but judging by comments made I've not really missed much there either. -
Belle Vue Colts Crowned Mdl Champions 2013
Gemini replied to Main Man's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Well done Belle Vue. At least they have won something this season after a few disappointing years for the E.L. team. Of course Coventry thought they'd give you a break this season and take over the bottom spot for a change. -
Michael Lee Charged With Rape
Gemini replied to Elephantman's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Why? I blame Matt Ford. -
I think it will if he pulls his usual stunt of just giving up and toddling round like a novice at the back. I reckon all Speedway fans have similar views whatever league they follow in that they don't mind a rider losing as long as they can see he is trying his best. In K.K's case he often wasn't and that's what annoyed the Coventry fans this season, so good luck if he really is in Leicester's plans.
-
Have you been to Leicester yet? Watch the racing there every week and you might just change your mind about Premier League being a better product. The truth is neither is as there are usually good races and boring races in all matches whichever league it is.
-
I can see the point of Leicester being in the top league because of the other three Midland tracks so it makes sense but have to agree with you about the Elite League as it is a complete shambles.
